    So jealous of your healthy plants!!! I sowed snapdragons in 3 large salad containers and now they are blooming. In the containers. I wasn’t able to transplant because I wasn’t done building my cutting garden raised beds. And the 5cu yds of compost I ordered has tiny, almost translucent worms that ate most of my dahlia tubers. The flowers I’m growing was supposed to be donated to nursing homes and children’s hospitals. The sadness I’m feeling right now….indescribable. - Zee, N. Cali zone10a

    • @FlowerHillFarm
      @FlowerHillFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Zone Hardiness typically means it can overwinter in your area. That’s not what I’m trying to do here. It’s referred to as a cool annual, meaning you’re supposed to be able to plant it before your last frost date in the spring and it can handle temps down to 25F or so. I don’t find that to be the case for mine. Others have success planting out early.

    • @kellijackson6699
      @kellijackson6699 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FlowerHillFarm gotcha. I'm in zone 9 and had several not fare well after frost (all of 30 degree lows) last December. The ones I planted out in Jan/Feb are happily blooming now though. Persnickety little plants. 😄 I hope yours bounce back. P.S. sorry about the plants you sat on. But it's so relatable! You're great!

Sorta related question (anyone)...a few of my Stock started blooming before they got planted (about 2 1/2 inches). It doesn't seem you have a problem for the Moment, but Just to warn you that the water from the dehumidifier is distilled water... so It does not contain any mineral and salt as tap water does, so if you were only watering with that It would be a problem for the plants (because of osmosis equilibrium i Guess??)... It Is likely that you are not finding problems since you are fertilizing pretty frequently, but maybe try to add half tap water to the dehumidifier One...

  • @maggieverett915
    @maggieverett915 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you said you "can't fertilize anymore" ...is that because it would be bad for the plants at this size to be fertilized, not being planted in the ground? Or is it because your space is too cramped or something else? I learn SO MUCH from your channel and enjoy every minute, thank you!

    • @FlowerHillFarm
      @FlowerHillFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fertilizing makes them grow bigger, faster...and at this point they need the ground before growing more. Larger seedlings don't always transplant well.
