    Hi, Just finished setting up a Beolab 7.1 as a "soundbar" for my Panasonic TV. I went the headphone socket route, bought the adapter from Sounds Heavenly (reversed, as I am hanging it under my TV(, and I have to say the result is very impressive. It's a VERY rich, full sound, with enough bass to put most mid-level soundbar and subwoofer combos to shame. Obviously, this is "only" a stereo speaker with subwoofers, but I gave up trying to keep up with the endless additions to AV systems that come out every couple of years! Really delighted.

      Thanks for your enquiry. Unless your TV has a headphone socket fitted, a direct cable connection to the speakers is not possible. However, you can still connect the TV optical output to the speakers by one of the options below:-
      1) Buy a B&O Core from your local B&O store (approx. £600 GBP) for remote control of the speakers via the B&O app, or
      2) Buy a B&O Connection Hub from your local B&O store (approx. £149 GBP) for remote control of the speakers via the TV remote, or
      3) Buy a Bluesound Node or Wiim Pro for stereo sound, with control of the speakers via the Bluesound or Wiim app, or
      4) Add an AV receiver for full surround sound, with volume control from the receiver remote.
      Please note that I don't sell any of the devices mentioned above, only the cables! Please let me know your preferred option and I will be pleased to advise how to get everything working.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I can help! Basically, you have two options if you change the TV for a non-B&O version:-
      1) Connect two Beolab speakers to the headphone socket of the TV for stereo sound, with volume control from the TV remote, or
      2) Add an external AV receiver with pre-out sockets (expect to pay from around £500 GBP in the UK) to allow all of the speakers to be connected for full surround sound with control from the receiver remote control.
      I can (of course!) provide cables for either option. If you can please let me know your preferred option, I will be pleased to advise on the cabling required.

    Hi Steve! I have just purchased a B&O 7.2 soundbar (sound system) at a garage auction. Unfortunately, there was no cable other than the power cable included in the kit. I test-connected an old cable that was lying next to another audio set (4-5din - jack, it is not known whether it was 100% functional), but only the right side of the speaker worked (or left, depending on how the speakers were set up) and the other side made a humming noise. I hope that the right cable will solve the problem. I would like to connect this speaker to the TV via the aux input - which cable should I choose? If it doesn't work out, it's hard, but I'll have a great speaker from my favorite brand of headphones ❤️

    Hi Steve. Iam in a situtation where I have beolab 3 and considering to build a surround system with b&o speakers with a non-b&o television, Samsung TV. Iam quite frustrated that b&o doesnt have a good solution for a 5.1 surround system with non b&o TV (without spending thousands on the new atmos soundbars.) I really consider to build a system around a AV surround receiver with beolab 18 as front L/R, Beolab 3 in the back, beolab 19 as sub, and the beolab 7.1 as the center channel. Will this be possible? And would this be practical and I wonder if the AV receiver can do room corrections/editting as when using a passive speaker system. I wonder what your thoughts are on this kind of setup. Would it be too complicated and weird? I guess thats my concern. 😂 Also, do you by any chance know if its possible to mix passive hifi speakers with b&o aktive speakers in a surround receiver setup? Preouts/amplified outputs? 😅 hope you can help me here. If I cant find a proper way of making a surround 5.1 setup with b&o speakers and non b&o TV, I think I will go with the standard hifi passive speakers. 😢

    Hi Steve, thanks for your great videos. I have a question. What would you choose to make home theater (I have Yamaha amp with preouts): Beolab 8000 using them as L and R speaker + Beolab 7.6 as central OR because i may buy with quite good price BEOLAB 20 - so just BEOLAB 20 instead of L/R and Central. Thanks for your advice. All the best!

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A centre channel carries up to 40% of the surround sound mix so always include this if you can. Beolab 20 will give great bass for action movies, but the 8000s will save you quite a bit of money if you don’t need the extra power of the 20s.

    Hi! I got the Beovision 7 32" center speaker, as a part of a home theater set-up.
    Its connected to a reciever through pre-out. But this also means that in default the Beovision is set to max volume. Is there any way to adjust the volume of the center speaker by itself? Would a B&O remote work for that?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If the speaker is connected to a non B&O receiver, then the receiver is the only way to control the speaker volume as the speaker doesn’t have a volume control or any way to work from a B&O remote control.

    • @nicolaimichagin6309
      @nicolaimichagin6309 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@soundsheavenly thanks for the reply! Really helpful.
      Its a bit sad that the center speaker must be maxed out in volume. Ive managed to make it fit in nicely, volume vise, by lowering it to -10 in channel selection in the surround sound settings, and letting the front, sub and surround speakers go to +7, and then they equal out. But this leaves a buzzing noise when the film is quite, or there is no sound going through the speaker. Otherwise than that, it works great.
      Just wondering if the B&O speaker had a remote control receiver itself, or only through the Beovision TV.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @nicolaimichagin6309 the B&O speakers don’t have a remote control receiver, they rely on the tv to provide volume control

      @@soundsheavenly Thank you. Ive got another quick question. The B&I speaker, is connected through a pre-out center connection in my rather old Pioneer reciever. It runs with a Dolby Atmos signal. Anyway, im experiencing close to non bass coming from my B&O center speaker, but everything from the subwoofer. I think thats a shame, because the soundbar has those two great small mid-range woofers underneath it, and I would love them to come into play. Do you know, if thats a setting issue on my receiver, or does no bass normally come through a center pre-out connection? Since it relys on a subwoofer? Hope you know what I mean. Thank you very much.

The only way to connect the speaker directly to your TV is if the TV has a headphone socket fitted, as this is the only socket where the volume of the sound can be controlled. Your Beolab 7-1 speaker needs a special powered cable to generate the trigger signals to activate it:-

    thank you for this youtube.
    personally i am using a Denon reciever which only has 1 RCA pre-out socket for the center channel. i am currently using a set op BeoLab 3's as front channels and a set of beoLab 4's as rear channel. i am on the lookout for a nice center channel. ideally it would be B&O as well but the only one that will fit physically in my room is the BeoLab 7.4 if i were to place it horizontally. in your youtube you tell us that the BeoLab 7.2 can be placed upside-down. do you have any experience with the 7.4 being used horizontally as opposed to vertically?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Beolab 7-4 won't work well horizontally as the acoustic lens won't spread the sound as intended. However, you still have a wide choice of centre speakers from the B&O range. Either one or two Beolab 3 or 4 speakers can be used (I can provide cables to use two speakers in the single Centre Pre-out socket) or you can use Beolab 7-4 vertically (or upside down!), or any of the other Beolab 7 speakers horizontally if you prefer. Please feel free to get in touch at soundsheavenly.com if you would like more detailed advice and I will be happy to help!
