Jesus, my guy he was going into such a good chain of thought and was just about to deliver value and you cut him off. You got a sales channel but you lack the most important quality of a good sales person. A good and effective listener.

Brooks obviously knows his business. He's right about scripts. All the best phone reps use tested and proven scripts. And voice inflection is a key to sounding interested in the prospect.

Love the question asking and qualifying. Too many people make the mistake of not qualifying enough and then chasing leads who were never serious to begin with.

Commitment, passion and consistency. I did very well at the beginning of my telesales job then start hating it. I didn’t understand what went wrong, I was exhausted from trying everyday and had to asked for 2wks time out from work as it just wasn’t working. Now I understood from Brooks that learning on the job doesn’t always work but rather actually take time to self-study it and tweak how script suits best. Also learn about tips on how to keep improving not just repeating same old style.

Salesman Podcast my biggest takeaway was step 1: to engage the customer. I’m a mobile event DJ. Sometimes I also have to sell my services. I believe I failed to close the deal on potential clients in the past due to how I initiated the calls. There’s been a few times when I knew I didn’t get the gig after ended the call. Thank you for this interview. It’s extremely clear and informative.
