  • What are the most commonly reported symptoms of UTI?
Our team developed a patient-reported outcome measure called the Recurrent UTI Symptom Scale. This tool will help clinicians and researchers better capture and listen to the patient's voice. Below are the pain and bladder-related symptoms of UTI most commonly reported by patients.
    Pain:
➡ Pain or burning sensation when urinating.
➡ Pain or burning sensation within 30 minutes after urinating.
➡ Pain or discomfort around the urethra when not urinating/stinging the urethra.
➡ Pain or discomfort in the lower back/side/flank.
➡ Pain or discomfort radiating down the legs.
    Bladder:
➡ Needing to urinate more frequently than normal.
➡ Needing to urinate more urgently or more suddenly than normal.
➡ Feeling as though you are unable to completely empty your bladder.
➡ Feeling as though you have the urge to urinate despite having just urinated.
➡ Urine with an unusually strong or unpleasant smell.
    ➡ Cloudy urine.
➡ Debris or floating particles in your urine.
