Hybrid is the future for the Indian market as per current infrastructure. Government should hear the words from these Japanese brands to bring down taxes on Hybrid.

City is City, No more compromise. Feels like sitting at home in sofa even after 500 km drive. stress free journey. but as everyone say keep in mind when bad road comes bec it is a city. 90% good road and 10% bad road is not an issue. so always City stays in heart like family people with children

Booked a Honda City 5 Gen V model against hyryder base model. Gonna say a single test drive made fall in love for this vehicle. Waiting for the delivery next week 😸

Remember to be very careful on bad roads and potholes though. If you manage to avoid bad roads, city is probably the best car below ₹20 lakh.

@@shibu.20 old prices. Payments are already done but since I wanted a 2023 registration, I held off taking delivery.
If not on budget, Honda City ehev wins it hands down. Any day will go for luxury, torque and Adas safety by paying additional 90k instead of a panoramic sunroof.

Excellent review, Bunny. You guys are one of the most underrated automotive channels. BTW, can we expect the upcoming Honda CSUV to borrow more from the City than the internationally sold HR-V? Any guesses here? Would be great to have that brilliant 1.5 on a crossover.
You should also mention that the head room is more in the S variant without a sunroof.

Got the G Hybrid of Toyota and its really fun to drive on the roads and cruise safely on highways. The maximum mileage i could get is 26.5 Kmpl mixed on highways, hills and city traffics.

I own a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid AWD here in Australia. I can vouch for Toyota's hybrid systems - they've mastered it nearly 25 years of experience starting with the Prius. Incredible fuel efficiency, power and smooth performance. Hybrid is the way to go now until charging networks are extensive.
I did a test drive of both vehicles and the engine is not smooth in urban cruiser. Even the transition between electric & petrol is very much visible in urban cruiser but all are Super silky smooth in honda city.

Wish Honda releases a non-ADAS version with Hybrid at an ex-showroom price of 15-16L.
ADAS is worth.. saved on few occasions.. cause roads are full of idiots
Nice Comparison though having both it`s just I have got City 5th generation in Diesel replacing 4th Generation City Diesel again because of my more running and replaced my Nissan Terrano with Hyryder G strong hybrid variant. Both City and Hyryder are good in their segments.

I guess the engine sound that makes you feel like there are steps is simulated to give you a feel done by software and there are no steps and therefore no shifts. I remember reading it somewhere. Doesn’t really make sense to have steps on ecvt.
Honda City: Plush, premium, ADAS, Class, handling, space.
Hyryder: Ground clearance.
Didn't told about ADAS while driving City, how it figures , is it worth , i would pick ADAS any day than the gimmick big sunroof
ADAS is useful but city camera based system instead of radar which wont work in low light conditions.
3 cylinder of Hyrider over 4 cylinder of city is a deal breaker for me,
they can control noise but not vibrations and refinement.

Honda's hybrid experience is seamless and top notch. No second thought sbout that. Hyryder with that 3-cyl engine its so underwhelming. But again most Maruti's users can't tell the difference

Thanks for the detailed Nd insightful analysis. We should also cover the difference in ground clearance between two. It is a big drawback for Honda City where one has to be very careful in bumpers and uneven roads.
Have driven Honda City with 3 adults on the back 2 adult front ,back seat was loaded with 250 and fully loaded boot ,no issue with the ground clearance, believe me village roads in northern part of karnataka is much worser.

Out of the two city looks stunning, but the sheet metal quality and the build quality is very poor. Hyryder looks just bad and boxy.

There's a huge price difference though, the lowest variant of Hyryder hybrid is available at an on road price of ₹17.4 lakh in my city, for city hybrid, it's ₹23 lakh.

Why do car manufacturers not offer CNG + electric combinations?
where will you put the cng cylinder as well as the battery pack.
CNG is slow burning fuel, thus power drop in CNG, but this brings better thermodynamics efficiency, petrol has higher wastage, hybrid reduces the wastage a lot by continuously running at best matching efficiency and using generator and then using electric motor. That is the reason for diesel as well and you will not find diesel hybrid.
