Lovely baby! And thank you for helping us newbies along! I wanted to ask about the paint sticking. I think I went through extensive cleaning after I pulled it out of the mold ( several hours of soaking scrubbing and using thinners) and yet I am getting peeling paint. I have tried to be careful of what I use on it - no latex. is there something I could be doing to cause this?
Poor little Effy. Lil boo boos. And she’s sleeping like a bug on a rug…❤I am so in love with silicone. To squish and bathe and can she go in pool or salt water. I’m sure not but she’s so darn cute.❤

@@CarolynDoughtyDolls Ok! That's really cool! I've seen where people say the OSS is a safer alternative to Naptha because it's supposedly chemical free! I'd love to give it a try when I get to that point! Also, when you use it to smooth, does it dry completely out and will it affect the painting when we get to that point? :D
Devin Ricketts it evaporates so is fine to paint over. OSS is still a solvent and so not completely without risk but a lot nicer to use and yes must be safer. The only time I use Naptha now is for airbrushing.

Anyway i need ur help i bought only PlatSil gel 0020 to pour my babies as well as make mold with it😔😔 I have everything needed to thicken it exp:Tin-Thix,PlatThix!!I have spent ALOT OF $ TO MAKE MY BABIES USING THE PLAT-SIL GEL DUE TO THE SOFTNESS OF THE BABIES,I CANT SEEM TO MAKE A MOLD WITH IT!!oh sorry for a brush on mold,so i went back on the site where i bought all my materials,an saw i can use PlatSil 0020 to make a brush on mold says to add little thickener,BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHICH ONE TO USE FOR 1ST COAT😕😕...PLEASE tell me which one i should use on my sculpt the TinThix or the PlatThix? Can you smooth out reborn doll bottom lip with silicone, I opened her mouth so she could take a pacifier and it left very tiny jagged marks as if she has chapped lips. Ty for the vids
Will ecoflex smooth out corners of silicone dolls mouth where I messed up opening her mouth, I repaired the tears but it looks dry and scabby now, how can i fix it? My first silicone and I've messed her mouth up, so frustrated, the more I've tried smoothing it the worse it's become, is there any hope for het? Btw. You're the best instructor, love your tutorials, to those who say they can't hear or understand parts you can follow along with transcript, it's great ♥️n
You can fix tears with any platinum silicone but ecoflex is quite thin and runny, so not ideal. If you have any dragonskin or psychopaint that would be better, or platsil gel 00.

I thought I wouldn't want to do another silicone but now I'd like chance to do one right. Do you sell silicone kits? Btw..you have been only one whose answered and tried to help, love your tutorials and I think I'm going to do more than subscribe, I'd like to be a member but because time restraints I can't make most lives but I get more out of your tutorials on this subject than anyone else, again thanks so much. I've really got to work on lip colors and getting lip color to look natural

When the baby is first pulled from the mould, I know from your previous videos from years passed, you said to wash her completely with warm soapy water, rinse and air dry. What do you wipe her down with before repairing her? I'm asking because since then, you may have discovered other products you prefer now. Thank you. :-) Ps. You are making me braver to get started... lol
Carol Manoukian hi Carol 💜. Yes I wash well with dish soap, it’s called Fairy Liquid here, and I use a pan scourer sponge to really rub into the silicone. Then I use thinners either Naptha or an odour Free thinner, again rub well into the silicone. Then back into hot soapy water, again scrub. I think the scrubbing is the new thing I do now. If you get release agent in your hands it feels waxy and when you wash your hands it’s really difficult to get it off - you really have to use strong soap and scrub and also a solvent. And finally rinse well as you don’t want any residue of soap left on. Then finally, I use 100% alcohol in a spray and I spray well and wipe down with lint free tissue.
Hi Crarolyn I got this silicone baby and the face looks as if they rubbed at it in the face.. Like tiny tears in it.. looks like dry skin or a rash.. I need help. I tried to look up your site but it’s not being found..
My granddaughter saved money for six months to buy a silicone doll. Then a dog got hold of it. It has tears and punctures. I want to repair it. Is there a way to get the indentions to come back up? I see how to repair the tears and punctures. But some places are not punctured but has an indention of the dogs teeth. I was wondering if heating it would work

Hi Caroline, How do I fix my silicone reborn baby doll 's hair since she hardly has any on her head and her magnet for her mouth is just loose rolling around inside of her head whenever I pick her up. My reborn doll's maker wants to charge me $95 for a new reborn baby doll including the head, but let me replace my doll's head twice before without charging me what should I do? I could go to Walmart and replace my full doll for $56.00. All I need is a new head for my doll. What do you suggest that I do to fix this problem?
Stephane Lang silicone dolls don’t have hollow heads they have solid heads and generally they don’t take magnets. What you have is not a silicone. Imagine if a silicone head was hollow it would be like a balloon. It must be vinyl if it has a hollow head.
I was wondering that myself. If you put her straight on the racks, they'd need to be perfectly clean and even then wouldn't there be marks if some type? What was she laid on in the oven?

I'm using OSS but you can use any thinner - I particularly like OSS because it is fractionally more oily than some of the thinners.

How would one go about to open eyes on a silicone doll? Can it be done with the eye lids semi closed after?

How do I fix my silicone reborn baby doll 's hair since she hardly has any on her head and her magnet for her mouth is just loose rolling around inside of her head whenever I pick her up.
My reborn doll's maker wants to charge me $95 for a new reborn baby doll including the head, but let me replace my doll's head twice before without charging me what should I do? I could go to Walmart and replace my full doll for $56.00.
All I need is a new head for my doll.
What do you suggest that I do to fix this problem?

@@CarolynDoughtyDolls my doll is not a vinyl silicone, she is a full silicone.
Stephane Lang silicone dolls don’t have hollow heads they have solid heads and generally they don’t take magnets. What you have is not a silicone. Imagine if a silicone head was hollow it would be like a balloon. It must be vinyl if it has a hollow head.
