    It's really unbelievable to what extent you go to in order to use historically accurate materials and techniques. Like, even the antique scale to weight the ingredients.
    Your work is absolutely outstanding and so, so beautiful to watch, I've never seen anyone put this much love into their craft.

    No one can really appreciate the work that takes so much research. Using the correct types of glue for example. I have done restoration for over 50 yrs. What I did was child’s play compared to the work of Irene. She is truly a master.

    My mother, she is gone now, she collected and also made dolls. NOTHING like this. This was wonderful watching. She made porcelain dolls. I remember she made 2 at one time. One was of me and the other my sister. And she matched our hair styles and our eye color and these dresses that she had made us for some occasion. I remember mine was this blue velvet. The face of the doll, looked just like me! It was incredible, the work she did. I wish I knew where my doll was. I would love to see it again, all I have are my memories of it.
    You did a wonderful job restoring this beautiful doll. I just love your work. Thank you for your content.

    My mother threw away my grandmothers childhood doll after she died because the arms and legs came off, (they were attached by string) it was a beautiful doll from around the 1910’s that had a very sad story about why it was given to her. I wish you were there to save it!

      What was the sad story as to why it was given to her if you don't mind me asking?

    • @cowgirl9014
      @cowgirl9014 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +51

      @@bonniemoon6790 her older brother had gall bladder surgery back in the day when it was a major operation- he climbed up on a roof attempting to put out a fire but he fell and reopened the surgical wound. He died soon afterwards. One of his dying wishes was to find the nicest doll that the family could afford and give it to my grandmother, so that is how she got her doll. Once she dropped the doll in the street and she ran in front of a car to get it and she was hit and had a broken leg. She nearly died for that doll

But what helps me about your videos is seen how much you can get them in a better condition, how you can fix them. It helps me a lot.

    Whenever i see dolls, especially ones like that, i cant help but to see them like little boys and girls. I cant imagine how happy and grateful and loved they must feel when someone helps restore their vessel. It makes me so happy to see. Maybe it doesnt always have a true benefit to a real person in doing so, but i just know the doll must feel so good to be whole again. To be so loved by someone in a way just like-and yet completely different-the way she once was by whoever got the chance to play with her in the past.

    I've come across your videos and binge watched all the doll restorations. As a creative person, I'm in awe of your skill and problem solving. And I can't stay silent through my projects, there is some cursing at times;p You've inspired me to buy a hand crank Singer for my sewing projects. I'm a hand sewer and don't like machines much, but hand sewing large projects takes a very long time. A hand crank machine is a good in between, faster and tidier than hand sewing, but not so fast that I don't feel in control. So thank you for that inspiration. I look forward to the next video when it comes

    You did an absolutely marvellous job restoring this doll. When you took it out of the box I just couldn't see why you would bother as it looked abysmal.
    However, once she was finished and you showed the final result, I understood why you put all your love and effort into restoring her.
    Thank you for sharing your awesome skills and technwith us so we can all enjoy the videos you make.

    I love the commitment to the proper way to restore the doll. It makes the doll truly original. All the work and patience that goes in to proper restoration is evident in the final reveal. You are a true artist.

      I also love how you call her “the baby” I don’t know why but when I see antique dolls I feel a sense of nostalgia that feels happy and sad at the same time. It makes me calm seeing somebody repair them so carefully
