    Morning Julie, Tip I learnt from an industrial kitchen installer... Windex is the perfect consistency to smooth silicone out with, so just spray your finger/tool and in theory, it shouldn't stick to you for hole fill etc...

    • @sturkiestercreations
      @sturkiestercreations ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So happy you commented about the Windex. I keep some on hand and have ordered the product that July posted. ✌️

      Oh btw I use an alcohol wipe wrapped around my finger to wipe away excess Loctite

      You could spray windex onto a piece of cellophane to level it off and get a really smooth finish I think lol

    I love all your videos and also do resin art. I've started a TH-cam channel and am trying to get it out there. I want to thank you so much for this particular video. I ordered this product and now wished I'd not thrown away a ripped jar mold. I will be getting this and am very thankful for all you do. No more bad meds and I have collected so many molds in over three years!! ✌️

    Thank you a million times for sharing this! I just got my frog and lizard molds and used them once.....they both tore....and I was gentle. I'm going to use Vaseline in them the next time I make one, which will be tomorrow! I live in the U.S. and I went to Harbor Freight and bought Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive & Sealant for $5.40. I used my finger to apply it so I could feel what i was doing. It washes right off your finger. The mold is dry now and it really does dry flexible. What a cheap fix! I didn't know a product like this existed. Thank you, again. 😊

    • @galady8632
      @galady8632 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Initially I would submerge the mold in warm water to relax the silicone. If it's a flat mold I would just fill the mold with warm water. If that doesn't help try warmer water. Of course I would avoid boiling water, especially if it's a thin mold. I had a tray mold that was so misshapen I had trouble determining what it was. I filled a cookie sheet with hot, not boiling water and placed several glass measuring cups filled with hot water inside the mold for added weight. I had to empty and replace the hot water 3 times but I was successful. During warm weather placing the loaded cookie sheet on the dash of a vehicle can be beneficial. In colder months maybe opt for a strong wattage desk light or place a heating pad under the cookie sheet. The seller had rolled the mold into a hot dog shape, rolled that into a ball and secured everything with rubber bands. Totally ridiculous.

    Thank you for sharing. I bought two of this particular molds. These particular molds break after two or three times use. I refused to purchase another one because it would tear getting the word out of the mold. I can't blame the seller as the word is just difficult the way it looks in particular font making it great when I got glue the lights in place. Then I do a second pour. It really turns out awesome I also put a glow in the dark glitter. It is my signature to my resin pieces. But anyway I think I will buy that one word mold and give it one more go. Thank you for sharing sil proxy.

    I found that Amazon sells this product, and that it's made by smooth-on. I have lots of that brand molding materials, but didn't know they made this till now. I think if I ever try it, I'll use a plastic gift card or old credit card to lay on the surface to make the top of the fill shiny and smooth. Thanks for sharing this!
