@Cole Mackenzie I'm 18 hit puberty late too still don't have much hair. I've been doing it for 5-6 months and my under bite is gone and I'm getting a small midline diastemia. In general my face is looking much but better but when I play sports and lift weights I make sure I'm still mewing and it has helped my breathing tremendously.

Thank you for all that you do! It's almost my second week holding my tongue at my palate. It's hard to remember to keep it up there. I've had crooked teeth ever since my adult teeth started coming in, so since I was a child. I acquired an underbite that chipped away some of my top front teeth. I never got braces, my family could never afford them. I am a 29 year old female, will be 30 in 2019. Since I been holding my tongue on my palate, I am finally noticing some soreness in my cheekbone area, under my eye sockets, my jaw, my temples, and the bridge of my nose. I do believe I credit that as the work of my tongue slowly correcting the posture of my maxilla. I find myself massaging and rubbing the sore areas for comfort. I notice applying a hot compress helped the alleviate the sore sensations. I am determined to straighten my teeth, once again, thank you for all that you do!
Every now and then i hear/feel a slight popping noise/sensation in my sinus cavity. Brings no discomfort. I just hope that just means my tongue is doing its duty to aid my maxilla!
Sorry everyone best thing to do is to try it yourself. I learned on my own that the left side of my face needs to adjust slightly back to the left. You notice my right cheek bone protrudes further than my left does. My teeth crowd on the right side of my face and I believe that's what causes the underbite to affect the left half of my face. I have impoved posture to keep my jaw sitting where it needs to but it still can sit wrongly when I dont pay attention. I am disheartened because I do not think my efforts are fruitful anymore and wish I can be seen by a real orthotropics doctor and I think I need their helpful equipment.

Slightly tore the sides of my tongue, but now, after a week, it seems like it fits in almost perfectly in the upper palate, without pain. Mostly dental widening? Maybe. But slight expansion of the maxilla also? I think so! Overall, face seems to look better now that it has slowly started to become a habit :-)

Can someone tell me how to fix that.
It's not possible to rest your whole tongue on the roof of your mouth. That blocks your air passage, which is a normal mechanism. It prevents food from entering the air passage during a correct(natural) swallow. How much of the tongue you rest against your palate is individual to your bone structure. The tongue generally will cover the whole of the hard palate, with the back of the tongue arched upwards and out of the throat, barely missing the point where it blocks the air passage. The back of the maxilla is held up by biting forces, and the centre and front directly by the tongue. Advanced remarks :- Keep your molars biting down, but be sure to apply the same amount of force upwards by the tongue. It's a point of balance where these forces will compensate for each other, and you don't feel the stress on your TMJ.

thanks for asking, i guess. My profile has not really changed since the second i did this posture (it did improve my profile though), but it's become easier to hold, i almost don't have to pay any attention to it. My voice is more constant, and less variable where as to before i would be somewhat high pitched one second and deep voiced the other, my breathing has become easier and it just feels natural, i had a pretty mild case of oral thrush before doing this and it has almost disappeared completely for some reason, I also feel slightly more confident (small difference but still noticeable), and that's about it. There's not really any downside to this, and anyone who's reading this that isn't already doing this, i suggest give it a go.
Ive gotten insane progress in 6 months. Keep it up, it's worth it
+nick kerinklio As in better looking?
Cyril Sithole 100% better 👌
should your molars and back teeth be touching when your mouth is closed?
My teeth tend to mainly just touch my canine area when closed.
Ideally yes, sounds like your tongue covers over the back teeth at rest which is why they don't touch as much. #mikemew
Orthotropics then what should we do? I too have the same problem😢😢
@@addaccount2166 invisalign
class II elastics messed up my maxilla
Explain?
It's been 7 months almost 8 I just saw that my ramus on my left side is just a bit bigger than the one on the right also the angle on the right angle is not outward as the one on the left is did expand while the months past .can anyone suggest anything ? I feel that I expanded more on my left also I'm missing one tooth that never came down that's supposed to be on my right side (maxilla ) should I try to expand more on my right side the difference is not much but I can tell the difference thanks
I think you're doing what i'm doing wrong, im applying more force to upper left of my palate with my tongue. Because i've done this for a while it's so hard to correct.
I give up, I only mew for for like 5-10 minutes a day when I remind myself there is no way to for me to do it all day unless I only focus on that and not my work
Bro dont give up. Legit this is the easiest way of improving ur face. Dont give up cos u cba or cant rememeber. The whole point is that at the start its hard cos its not a habit and u havent been holding ur tongue up all your life. Once u do it for a certain time it will become a habit and ull be good. Just get through the start by having alarms or siri to remind or smthm anything cos sure this aint easy and is long but its def the easiest option dont give up

can anyone explain me please what i have to do for a forward growing face im german and when its written i can translate it with google but listening to this guy i dont understand so much how does the tongue rest at the tongue does i need to push my tongue up is it ok when my tongue gets wide and distance my teeth [] thats my tongue in the middle and the other is my teeth i hope you understand me
i would be very very thankful for some help
i hope you can read this despite my bad english
The whole tongue including the back of the tongue pushes up on the palate. You should do this always.
I stopped resting the tongue on the palete over ten years ago when I started wearing braces (the metal wiring prevented me from doing this). My face has changed a bit because of this. I'm 30 years old now, can some of the changes be reversed by correcting the posture/tongue resting position, or do changes only occur for younger aged people?
maikatase you can change it at any ahe
Good point! I wonder if that's possible with Invisalign, heard the edges are really sharp, shit! :O :(
kittendivine1 it's not that bad. If it is, fine sandpaper does the job
Mike should do mewing. He needs it
he already does it lol
Beautiful sarcasm
My maxilla is too forward (upper jaw) And I don't know how to backward it.
go to an orthopedic
sorry, orthodontist
Cause you have an overbite
I have the same problem do invisalign but make sure the plan doesn't extract any teeth that's bad for you
Damn hope you found out that your maxilla wasn't too far forward your mandible was too far back
What if you have a high arch? My tongue does not rest on the soft pallet but I can nose breath normally?
Me too men. My dentist say that I have a wide palate yet high. And when I push my back tongue to the soft palate my ovula also pushed to the soft palate making me puke.
Michael Jackson had proper facial structure I wonder if he Mewed at all????
Hee hee
