- The Yellow K-code Mustang gets some nice safety upgrades! These are some of our favorite vintage Mustang mods to do to increase the safety factor. I show you exactly how to install the full LED light kit we got from CJ Pony Parts, as well as brighter Sylvania headlights, and some super loud Hella horns. These upgrades are subtle, simple, and extremely effective!

Howdy. Thanks very much for some great ideas. I just picked up a '65 coupe, same color, assembled in San Jose in May, 1965. I have to add back up lights after the valence comes in, and dual exhausts. I'm not likely to drive at night, but the bright back ups, expecially, will be very nice, given my vision.

Nice upgrades, but the #1 needed upgrade is MIA.
We old car enthusiasts really need a campaign to add Headrests.
Everybody that drives a antique car or truck without headrests should consider that being rear-ended is something you probably can have no control over.
(Only scenario is you see it coming, and have escape route and time. Yea..thats never gonna happen)
If your rear-ended without Headrests, best case is badly sprained neck and weeks, maybe months of pain.
Worst case is broken neck, paralysis or death.
Yes i get headrests look out of place ... but we need a campaign to delete the 'Not Original, looks bad' with 'Good Idea, looks great'.
Save the necks!

"Hella loud!" Luvvit. Not a fan of LED anything, I'm afraid - I find it harsh and largely unnecessary - but then I'm an old fart. I'd LOVE to see that Trans Am up close and to hear more about it!

New subscriber. Love your channel! On the halogen headlight upgrade I'd recommend running the headlights thru relay harness. Halogens pull too many amps compared to the old sealed beams. Headlight switch gets 🔥. A buddy of mine learned this the hard way. These relay harnesses can be found on ebay/Amazon $30
I daily a 1965 Mustang straight 6. I love the simplicity, but I'm scared to death half the time. I def need to upgrade some of the safety items.

I bought a set of the Sylvania headlights last year & they really don't seem to fit very well. Had to pull them off again yesterday to run a new firewall to headlight harness. Looking at the Scott Drake offerings now
What did you end up going with? Looking to upgrade to LEDs on a 66 mustang
After owning a car with led headlights I won’t hesitate to put these on a classic mustang along with 3 point seat belt...if I ever get my hand on a mustang like this it has to be safe on the road because it won’t be sitting in my garage

*I was so against upgrading my headlights on my 76' Camaro; I am so glad I installed my LED Halo headlights; yeah, having red Halo's is cool for IG but, the LED headlights are like night and day when driving at night - I CAN SEE!* @camaronado
Did your LED headlights come with a special harness or did you have to install load resistors? What brand did you go with? Looking to do LEDs on my 66 mustang

Wondering the same thing. I want to go with 15x7's. Not sure what tire size. 225/60 would be nice but may rub in front.
