Just came across this video! WOW what a Torino Cobra! I have been a fan of the 1970/71 Ford Torinos, ever since they came out. I have the 1970 "Car Of the Year" Motor Trend magazine, that I bought new. I bought my 1970 Torino GT 351C in September 1973, five days before I met my wife. We sold it in December 1975, due to orders for Germany and I was told that the Torino was TO BIG for German streets! To this day, I still hold my brother responsible for me getting rid of my "Dream Car". I did buy another 1970 Torino Fastback in 1992, but it never could be equal to my Torino GT! When I see cars like this one, it brings back all my memories of the cars I owned. WAY BACK WHEN! Thanks Dennis for sharing this car with us! 😀
Such a top bloke. Says good morning to his staff and has a laugh. Treats them with respect in every video. Worked places where the bosses won’t even acknowledge you. I reckon he’d be great as a boss.
Guys a class act,no doubt! Has the upmost respect for everyone he meets and treats everyone like old freinds. He always takes care of anyone who helps out along the way, guys like that deserve everything good that comes their way in life.
O, Kelsey is beautiful.. I wish I was younger.. 😁but so far from USA,. Dad need to be proud of her. Lovely program and years of hardworking. All of the best guys👌
It’s great to Dennis with this enthusiasm. The glitz, glamour and fame are one thing but the true passion for the cars and the story are where he really shines!!!
And some how, he {Dennis the man Collins} manages to FIND them, no matter where they are. A class act this man is. God Bless you Dennis, making cars a worthy & respectful subject again. Thank you Dennis for taking us on this ride.
Yea i cant even imagine how its possible. The world has changed so much thing this was first built. For the owners to never modify or wear out the car after all these years seems nearly impossible
Dennis genuinely loves teaching the younger generation about cars. I reckon this is so cool. I sit and watch Dennis for hour on a Sunday morning. You’re an absolute legend & awesome human being Mr Collins. Huge respect from 🇦🇺 Australia 👍
A little extra info about the Lorain assembly plant. I grew up in the town that it bordered. The assembly plant was in Lorain, Ohio, but the holding lot and rail shipment area was in Vermilion. Almost everyone in Vermilion worked at the Ford plant or US Steel in Lorain. It was sad to see it close. Ohio plates list the county the car is registered in, not the city. The car could have been from any city in Lorain County. Cool car for sure. Thanks for sharing!
Dennis! I have been a Shelby Mustang and Torino fan my whole adult life. I was talking out loud at 3:30 am as you were describing this Torino Cobra. A lot of watchers don't know about the Torino Cobra. But it is a Awesome Ford. Also the 3 Torino King Cobra's. In Yellow, Orange and Red. That were prototypes. For NASCAR. Never made it to the tracks. Outlawed by NASCAR. I had a Torino with a 302 1970. But got to drive a 1971 Torino with a 429 SCJ Automatic with 3.55 gears out back. A Maroon with a yellow lazar stripe and Black Comfort Weave buckets seats and Black slats. It was scary fast. Listening to that 4 barrel suck air threw that hood scoop. Just a amazing car! Love the video's. Shawn
Passion can not be bought ... always a pleasure to watch you . Hands on and knowledgeable. And always so respectful to the people around you . Both clients and employees. I wish for you and yours . Success and happiness . Creative regards
I always liked Dennis personality and attitude over you know who. First thing I thought was he needs his own show. It's fun watching him test drive these cars.
@@tonypoore440 Absolutely , Dennis has always been the smarter one but he is taking all of the Camera cues from "The other one" and hooping and hollering and throwing his hands around to follow what they tell you works in production. A camera introduced into anything screws it up beyond belief....
What a beautiful Torino. I think that's the rarest car I've ever seen. And I love that you're trying to get the younger generation involved into the older cars like that. And trying to get them out of the Barns and Fields and everywhere else and back on the road.
I was born and raised in Lorain and I am pretty sure I remember this car. The guy that owned it also had a yellow 71-73 Mach1. I'd see this car in his garage when I walked back and forth to school. He drove the Mach1 all the time but I never saw him drive this.
A ‘super’ holy grail car... YES IT IS SIR! Gorgeous motor. Love the longer coffee walk videos, cheers guys n girls. PS. I think the audio problem is getting worse. New tech needed! Cheers again.
So cool. I was born and raised in Lorain Ohio. My father worked summers at the plant to pay for college. I currently live 5 minutes from the closed Ford assembly plant
Dennis most folks don’t know and cannot fathom what a holy grail you found in that 70 Cobra Torino with those matching bells and whistles. I had the good fortune of having a friend who had the exact car back in 78 . I still remember what an awesome car it was !
Found a MEYERS MANX SR sitting in a backyard in Kent, Wa. "Gelcoat white" Half Convertible top Signed by BRUCE on the dashboard! Then found a 67 LongStep 402

Dammit Dennis.. Every time I watch a video I have to go make coffee . These videos are restoring my faith . There's someone that love these cars other than me . How lucky are you to have a daughter that has the same interests as you .
My great-grandmother (RIP) had a 70 torino with a 351 Windsor. My Aunt drove it for another 20 years. Total miles when she sold it 30,000 miles. Rhode Island is small. Great memories
I was the clean-up boy at the local Ford dealer in the mid-70s. We got one of those Shelbys in for some work on two occasions. I thought it was the coolest car I'd ever seen back then, and I my opinion hasn't changed since.
Been turning wrenches on cars most of my life and I'm a total classic muscle car nut and thought I knew a lot about cars until I started listening to Dennis...I LOVE listening and soaking in the knowledge this man knows about classic cars...much respect Dennis
I knew generally what it was (obviously not trim) because we had one sitting in our yard for years. Between it and my dads 70 Mach I, i got to make a lot of really cool motor sounds as a kid. Wish i had them now...
I had a 1970 Torino Cobra, 429scj 4speed, drag pack before I went in the service. I bought it from a doctor who bought it new and it had 97k miles on it. I traded it for a 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT Holman and Moody edition with 427 4 speed. My Torino had window slats but did not have the shaker hood scoop. The "N" code in carrier tag indicates a nodular.
'70-'71 Torino Cobra 429CJ and 429 SCJ , both had the same "J" code. 429 SCJ had 4 bolt mains and solid lifters. 429 CJ had 2 bolt mains and hydraulic lifters. Ram Air "shaker hood" could be ordered with the 351c engine '70-'71 Torino Cobra.
Great finds I enjoy seeing and hearing th we history behind each car . We are a Ford family. My dad was grand national 1/4 mile champion in 86,87,88 not all three years but place and won two I think . He built a pinto and put a 460 in it . He and his brother started with Fairlane and torino then graduated to a pinto and a mustang fast back 69 or 70 those were some fun days . I would love to have my dad and uncle back or one of there builds . Miss those days badly. I love dodge to.
70-71 Torinos are just the best under appreciated muscle cars and my personal favorite,,, Dennis is living my dream ,,,, keep up the awesome work and get more torinos lol ,, love the wealth of information you’re sharing it is much appreciated!!!
That Torino is more than a car. It is a stunning piece of art. Auto manufacturers don’t take pride in their work anymore. This car was built with pride
I sure am glad I found this channel. My father and grandfather worked at a Ford dealership and I dreamed of getting this close to some of these cars. Awesome!
Hi, to watch this video a few times to understand I think why Kelsey kept giggling. I think it’s because the way Dennis was acting. He was so excited and he was tripping over his words and stumbling over everything, it was like watching a little schoolboy it was just so amazing the amount of passionthat Dennis and his family and his whole crew have over these cars. It’s unbelievable.
Years ago I remember a car that was a Torino body but had Falcon badges and it was referred to as a factory drag car. It had the 429 ci with the 4 speed and a locker rear axle. It had no options at all, no heater and a rubber floor mat and a few other deletions to keep the weight down. I helped a Classic car dealer get it and a Yenko Nova to a sale in Carlisle, PA.
My Dad had a white one but sold it after about 6 months. It was in the dealership for lots of repairs almost every week. Must have been made on a Friday afternoon;) Excellent video and always enjoy your enthusiasm!
I love CJ 7 that was in the shop, that would be my dream Jeep (had a 1983 like that from new to 1987, why did I ever sell it)! Great education on the Shelby and Torino.
When I was a kid (I was 10 in 1978)we had a neighbor that was old and always took our wiffle balls and stray frisbee throws and always threatened to cal the law. Remember him? But his son had a green 70 Cobra in dark green. It was LOUD and had slots with Firestone white letter bias ply tires that I don't recall what the letters read. Love it !!!
I like 68 and 69 Mustangs. I had a 68 Fairlane. It had a six cylinder three on the tree. I bought a 65 Mustang rust bucket and slipped the 289 4 speed into the Fairlane. My brother helped me set it up with a 4 speed column shift with a separate reverse lever on the floor. I would love to get a 68 or 69 Wagon and set it up like a Torino. I wonder if those cool reflective strips are available anywhere.
Thanks so much Dennis !!!! Always been a Ford guy since my high school days (1969-1972). Yep, grumpy old retired guy here.......lol!! Always had to work and hustle for a buck being from a poor family. Cut grass, shoveled snow, etc. during my younger years. In my early teen years, I was lucky to get a job at a local garage with two other buddies I grew up with. We worked piece work there and it was a used car wholesaler who took about seven to ten cars a week to Manheim Auto Auction every week and I am sure you might be aware of that auction. I left after about two years to work at a local gas station during my last two years of high school. I was so fortunate then to get a 1968 Ford Torino GT- 390 hp. Black on black, 4spd, posi. rear, etc. But, the cool thing, it was a notch back and not the more popular fast backs running around. That Torino presentation gave me a "woodie".........lol and thanks again !!! The red Super Cobra, would be my ultimate retired guy's dream car to have. But, living on the limited retirees income now and never in my wildest last dreams here on this earth would even be able to acquire something like that. Also, feel free to contact me and maybe we could exchange numbers. The reason being, I could tell you so many stories of how we prepared the vehicles back then for Manheim every week. Some of the stories will absolutely blow your mind, but all true.
I remember in the late 60s my dad used to work in a mobile gas station as the lead mechanic, it had 4 bays with 4 car hoists He came a cross a killer car and bought it cheap because the guy was sick of bringing it in to get fixed. It was a 1967 Ford Fairlane. A- 390 cu in. with a 4 speed that had Shelby Cobra badges on it from the factory. All white with black bucket seats. I'll never forget one day on Victory blvd. We raced a Road Runner and just blew his doors off! My dad sold the car to my uncle. Can't remember what he did with it? I wish I had that car today! I'm sure it would be worth a few bucks! "Memories"
I love this show because Dennis is a great authority on old vehicles. *Your Nash Healy was in an early Superman episode from the mid 50's. Clark Kent pulls up in it to write a story.* I love the show because reading serial#'s tells you everything. Find a SC/Rambler those were rare and groovy.
I believe the 70-71 Torino’s are gonna b the next big thing! They have definitely been left out in the cold so to speak. They have been overshadowed by the mustang for ever! Thanks for your knowledge and enthusiasm for blue oval muscle.
I got lucky enough to find your station. Love your channel. What your doing is totally amazing. Knowing your cars is great. Not many guys like you left. Yes factory muscle cars are great. American engineering at it's best. Thank you for sharing this ford super cj. Love it love it. Dad bought mom one from the factory. Was an 71 blue with the stripes that change colors on the bottom. Had 351 Cleveland factory Hurst 4 speed posi rear end. She would let me change gears when she race other cars sometimes. If you ever run across one please give me a shout out. Thank you again.
Dennis both the Mustang & the Torino are beyond cool! When those cars were new I was a kid riding my 5sp Stingray around & boy did these cars get my attention! Thanks for posting such a cool video!
Dennis love the torino. But did you know that a company called copper craft built one that is almost identical and was painted copper. Would like to see how many are still around. Always watching coffee walk you and your team should be given a medal for saving so many outstanding car and trucks. Keep up good work. See ya soon on utube.
Wow...Just as I was getting jaded with the Shelby's you pull out a Gran Torino like that...What really blew me away was the special carburetor. You would never find another one like that I am sure...
I was in a junk yard the other day and came across a 1970 falcon and it looked like a Torino surprised me I always thought of a falcon as a small car. Of course it was picked clean still had body parts but everything else was gone
Dang dude!! I'm from Detroit. A teen in the 60's. Everything was sports car after sports car coming from the big three Auto makers every year. Lived 3 miles from the GM tech center. The employees drove corvettes and I watched them at 5 pm everyday cruise home on 12 mile road. Corvette after corvette. I was awed. Nuff said. Remember visiting the Ford assembly line. Watched 69 Mustangs go down the assembly line. That's why I have sports car in my blood. Had two Trans Am's 76. One was 455 stick the other bought 2 years later (white also) 400 auto. Funny thing the 455 only had like 200 horsepower. Strange right? At the time it was consider a great car. Doubt it if would beat the Mach I though with their 429's.
Dennis Collins, I have a super rare '70 Plain-Jane Torino that came from the factory with 429 SCJ, drag-pack options, 4 speed, 3:91 Traction-lock rear gears. When I bought it, in 1981, it had 34k miles, and I bought it as a 5 cars wholesale package and paid $75 for the car. The Pontiac/Toyota dealer thought it was a backyard hack-job. Bell housing was severely cracked and clutch was worn-out. Here's why the car is super-rare. It's a station wagon. '70-'71, Ford produced 7 429 Torino 429 wagons. 6 had Country Squire trim and were A/T cars. 4 of them had ram-air "shaker" hoods. Only one Plain-Jane wagon 429 SCJ 4 speed wagon was produced and I still own it. It didn't need much, in 1981, to restore it and it still needs nothing. I only changed the stock steel wheels with 15x7 Magnum 500 wheels from a wrecked '71 Torino GT Ranchero. Original bell housing was aluminum. Replacement, cast iron that I bought through Hemmings Motor News in 1981. I've turned down offers as high as $60k for the car. Ford wanted it for their museum because it's a one-off only car. I own 7 fully correctly restored classic/vintage Ford high-performance cars and one vintage street-legal NHRA record holder Ford drag car that I still race once in a great while.
The 4:30 rear gear made it a “Drag Pack” car with a Detroit Locker. My uncle had a new red 70 Cobra with a Cobra Jet. Not sure if it was a Super Cobra Jet or Drag Pack though.
The last 2 episodes have been of my dream cars. I grew up in my fathers 69 Torino GT. These last two Torinos bring back old memories and wishes that we stil had the car.
Really love the Torino, everything from color to drivetrain, a very special car . Wish to find my dream car my father had, it was a 62 Oldsmobile super eighty eight , 2 door , light grey- blueish ..... someday......

My brother helped me set it up with a 4 speed column shift with a separate reverse lever on the floor. I would love to get a 68 or 69 Wagon and set it up like a Torino. I wonder if those cool reflective strips are available anywhere.
I used to have a 73 Torino that was red in color. I can't remeber if it was a Sleby but that car was agreat car and wish I never had gotten rid of it.
I love the 1970 Torino!
Autonomous Collective I wish he cranked it over for us.
Dang, that Torino is so beautiful!
just visited the Newport car museum. The Shelby car history was complete.Mustangs and GT cars everywhere and were amazing.
I remember in the late 60s my dad used to work in a mobile gas station as the lead mechanic, it had 4 bays with 4 car hoists
He came a cross a killer car and bought it cheap because the guy was sick of bringing it in to get fixed.
Best car TH-cam channel out. I love how raw it is and the knowledge. No producers to ruin the episodes. Insane the amount of knowledge Dennis has.
THAT Takes Incredible To A Level Most Can't Even Understand What A Amazing Car & Find
Dennis.....love your enthusiasm on vehicles like this. I also appreciate the rarity of "holy grail" vehicles.

Dennis knows his shit . Great look at a fantastic car .
Hey Dennis I had a 68 my friend had a 70 Awesome Ride Great time to be ALIVE Thank you for sharing Dennis..👍👍👍👍❤️❤️☮️🙏
Doubt it if would beat the Mach I though with their 429's.
this is so cool!! Im amazed at Dennis' knowledge of these cars!
Alright! Denise, Great Car WoW Fantastic!!
The ultimate barn find. That car is priceless. I'd like to see how much it would go for at Barrett Jackson.
When you get like this your enthusiasm is infectious
6:31 they were made to be driven, not only to look at = "no damn trailer queens" as C.S. said :)
That is the finest and meanest Torino we have ever seen. What a great find Dennis.
