Thanks for the updated recipe! I still make your whipped maple butter all the time with my pancakes. I found an easier way to make it though. I melt the butter, add the maple syrup, transfer the mixture to a cold bowl and whip it up with my handheld mixer. It works especially well if I put the beaters in the freezer for a couple minutes.
I'm an American gal and although I haven't made these, yet, I will eventually. Plus I love ALL your recipes! Jemma, on a super serious note, I love you bunches. You have a super fan in Massachusetts. Can't wait to try these pancakes. Xoxo to the whole gang at C&D's and a Happy New Year!
Absolutely delicious! Another gem recipe from Cupcake Jemma! Swap the vanilla for cinnamon and added bacon, blueberry and maple syrup and it was BOMB. Thank you! Will save this one for next time. ❤
In the USA it's most commonly served with "breakfast sausage." "Pancakes and sausage" is a common phrase. 100% pure maple syrup is more watery and soaks in. And more expensive. So more people buy hybrid products like Mrs. Butterworth's or Aunt Jemima because it's thicker and less soaks in. And it's less expensive. But the flavor of 100% maple syrup is definitely better, and probably more healthy. I'd much rather have the delicious pure stuff and keep pouring more syrup on as needed.
Hi, hope you give us recipes for many years to come! Question, can you make the butter and keep it in the fridge overnight to make them fresh in the morning?
They are small for American style pancakes 😅. We like them plate size, buttermilk, fluffy and I like to melt a stick of butter in gobs of maple syrup and beat it to emulsify it and pour that over the pancakes. Don’t have to wait for butter to melt.
We like ours small and eat many of them! But definitely this is more like a gourmet pancakes than ‘American’, because I think we like it easy and quick in one bowl method than separating eggs in the morning 😂
Those are American style. Historically they were called silver dollar pancakes. Diners used to offer both styles. Silver dollar pancakes usually came with sausage &/or eggs while the dinner plate sized pancakes were served on their own.
@@wayneswirlwhen these foods became popular in the northern U.S. people required foods like that because of hard manual labor jobs & because they were in frigid temperatures. In really cold climates you never go outside without eating a lot of calories. Those calories warm your body. People that live in temperate climates like the UK have no idea how lucky they are. People tend to fear the frigid cold weather the most but it’s the super hot that’s the most uncomfortable & dangerous.
Congratulations on the channel turning 10! How long can the panckes stay in the fridge for? I realised the quantity can't be reduced because you can't half the egg 😁
You don't make your own. Well, you could, but it's more of an industrial process. You need to tap a bunch of maple trees at the right time of year. And then collect buckets of 40 to 45 gallons of sap to boil down just to get one gallon of syrup. Some people prefer a hybrid product like Aunt Jemima or Mrs. Butterworth's because it's thick and doesn't just soak in like the watery pure syrup. And pancakes and syrup are often served with "breakfast sausage" in the US.
Thank you for the reply. I'm just thinking that you might have one from the scratch just in case. I also have a favourite store bought pancake syrup. Love this pancake recipe @@CupcakeJemma
@@Keith14428😂We do not have maple tree here in the Philippines so I prefer to buy pancake syrup in the store. Thank you for the information on maple syrup.
Hi team. A request! Please could you do some gluten free recipes? My daughter has celiac disease and misses out on all the treats, I'm a huge Baker but feel guilty doing so :( My daughter isn't a cake lover (weirdo!) but she would love some gluten free brownies, cookies or pancakes and waffles. Any chance? Xx
Looks great! Going to make some just plant-based as I have a family history of Cancer so need to avoid the estrogen and possible BLV in dairy and choline and lead in eggs. Thanks so much for sharing
I usually loooove your recipes but this one went so wrong!! They were really crumby, broke apart. Also tasted really strongly of baking powder. Any ideas what I might have done wrong?
dietary cholesterol from animal sources is good for you. If you do want to worry about health it's the massive amount of carbs in the pancakes you should be worrying about :/
Not true at all. Cholesterol from a lot of animal sources is usually high in saturated fats which affects the “bad” cholesterol called LDL negatively. I’m a nutritionist and i usually recommend my clients to eat less of it and replace it with a vegetable source of fat that are higher in poly- and monounsaturated fat and eat leaner diary products to reduce (but not eliminate) the amount of saturated fat in the diet. Nothing is also wrong with eating carbs, it’s the body’s primary source of energy to stay active, it’s all calories beyond your maintenance that makes you fat/gain weight. Not a specific macro. The body doesn’t care if it’s 700 calories from carbs or 700 grams from protein/fat when it comes to weight gain, the surplus or any calories will still end up on your hips.
I’ve never understood the appeal of maple syrup and butter on pancakes, it looks and tastes so nasty. i rather have mine with some Nutella and a large spoon of whipped cream
@@MeeganMakes I have tried it, i think it gets way too sweet with the maple syrup together with the already sweet pancakes. I’ve always layered my pancakes with an off-brand Nutella with a richer/darker chocolate flavour then serve it with a large spoon of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on the side. For me it gives it a way better balance with the sweetness 😅

These are perfect, we just had them for breakfast. I used 60 g of sugar since we didn't have any maple sirup at hand.
Made these last weekend and my whole family loved them so much!! 😊❤ soo easy, so yummy, light and fluffy - I can not wait to make them again ❤❤
I'm really happy you said they don't taste of the baking powder! I've only once had fluffy pancakes where they didn't taste metallic.

Just made them. They taste great!

nearly 45?!!! you look amazing!
How time flies Jemma lovly recipe thankyou 😊❤️
Recipe spot on... Really enjoyed them and so did my American husband who normally turns his nose to them when I make them... 😂
Yes please, maple syrup too.
Hi, hope you give us recipes for many years to come! Question, can you make the butter and keep it in the fridge overnight to make them fresh in the morning?
Make sure the butter is soft and warm the maple syrup before you serve. Never too much melty butter on a stack of cakes. Love a good pancake.

Your folded in egg white is how I make my waffle recipe.
Love all your recipes Jemma, always my go to ( Annette )
hi , these pancakes look delicious ! Will you do a " galette des rois" recipe ?

What's the difference( if any) between these and crumpets? Just a different name?
Dont know if this is a thing, but could you try and make bubble tea cupcakes?
Honestly, you can get the same result with 1 egg, a cup of milk & a cup of self raising flour. 👍🏼😊
