- Custom cooling (rather extreme modification) to a HP Omen 30L Prebuilt PC, searching to fix the high CPU temperatures under load which in the standard configuration saw 90 - 100 degree C! So we custom fit (by cutting the case) a new 120mm intake fan!
This 30L features a RTX-3090, 32 GB of Ram and a i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz. This PC can only be fitted with a 120mm AIO (erg..) whereby a large cooler would be preferred.
Omen 30L are a great compact size designed by Cooler Master however a distinct lack of modifications.
PC is now running 3x 120mm intake fans, 1x internal 120mm case fan and 2x Exhaust fans (1x 120mm and 1x 92mm) - all bar one upgraded to Noctua. Aside form this, PC is otherwise bone stock running all HP installed bios and fire wear.

very cool video. My friend has a $800 budget and I found a 30L with a gold 600w for $90. Gonna mod the 💩 out of this case. Maybe I'll try and take out the Omen logo and cut two 120mm holes instead of one. Gonna put a 304mm card in it.
Cheers for your comment. Ah nice, so I saw some posts on Redit whereby people just cut the entire front out and mounted x3 120mm fans (so existing and x2 new ones above). I'm currently testing 140mm fan on the base (just fit but need to make some more case modifications). Next time around I'll build a PC from scratch but kinda nice learning on a semi moderable pre-built 👍
How many Y splitters did you have to use to get them all routed to the rear fan?
So all coming off the rear fan port (because it spins faster). I think there’s probably two or three splitters on this plug now 👍
How do you takeoff the front glass piece?
One screw on the bottom, then it pulls of with clips. HP Omen have a so disassembly guide for the 30 L on their TH-cam page, which is really good and helpful 👍
Where did you plug the bottom fan into ?
Used 3 pin y splitter to the rear fan header (top left of the board)
