Nice! Fun to watch the competitive racer come to life when overtaken or overtaking. Some near perfect laps! Felt like I was behind the wheel ! God, do I miss it.
THANK YOU for sharing this BEAST! Long live the FOX!
@ moelll
I believe in 85 Roush was using the Ford SVO R block built with parts to withstand 8000rpm at 5.0 liters. I might be mistaken, but I think they made around 600- 650hp.
I remember the Roush Trans-Am stuff of those days of the mid-late 80's. Over the years I accumulated a SVO G351 dry sump block, a Roush dry sump pump and pan and some virgin C302B heads. They have been ported, I have built it to be an 8000 rpm engine I only turn 7000, less compression to make it streetable and less cam. I am hoping for the same sound and maybe 550hp I can't break doing track days. I watch your videos for motivation. Just need one of those gearboxes but until then the tremec will have to suffice.
@fidstang I think later they were up to 710hp out of 310CID. I was at the Portland (PIR) Trans-Am race in 85'. Those cars were Capri bodied but probably about the same.
@2:51 American muscle power out dragging the German up the hill!
That gear box is music....nice pass at 12:18
