I graduated nail school in September of last year. I was that person who use to use my nail drill going up and down. That ring of fire is no joke it hurts. Now Im much much better since I graduated nail school. Young Nails and other nail tech videos also helped me alot. Thank you for all you do on TH-cam to help nail techs
When used properly at the correct speed and with the correct bit, e-files can be used safely and without causing damage. As with any tool (hand files as well) if not trained properly, the technician can cause damage.
heelppppp I did gel nails but I don’t have anything of what you have, my mom won’t buy it and I can’t afford going to the nail studio again How do I take them off 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Gel polish can be soaked off with 100% acetone. We will send a video. If you can't get those products to soak off, you would want to get it removed at a nail salon. th-cam.com/video/F5TNiH4MsTE/w-d-xo.html
For hard gels, you would have to file off the product with a hand file as it is non-porous and cannot be soaked off in acetone. If you are removing a gel polish or other soft gel, you can file off or soak off using acetone.
When removing product, we recommend starting with the Coarse Safety Bit to remove the bulk of the product. When you get closer to the natural nail, switch to the medium sanding band as this will remove smaller amounts of product at a time. This will also show the outline of the product you can see where there is still product and where it's natural nail.
My nail tech has filed me down to hardly no nail bed, she goes back and fourth. It IS painful. I'm going to have to leave her. She just gaslights me when l tell her it hurts.
You could use acetone to remove gel polish, but the continued soaking off of the product could lead to weak/brittle nails. Here are some good videos on this subject. th-cam.com/video/H65swcAWXCI/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/8aEGlRloZHc/w-d-xo.html
Many polish remover available for purchase at local stores are a mix of acetone and other chemicals. What would work to remove regular polish would not remove gel polish which is what is on the nails in the video. The only kind of remover that will take gel polish off, if you don't want to use an e-file, is pure acetone. That is why we don't use regular polish remover to take off gel polish.

That's too bad. I as a nail instructor, would have shown you how to file this way. But that's me. A coworker would have shown a different way😢
Thanks so much!!! Very interesting to watch you use the drill properly!!!
I need to show this to the nail techs where I live. They always stay in one spot and cause pain to my nails. I hate them!
Thanks for another great video of learning how to get better with are tools.
What is the name of that drill bit I am struggling to find it

Doing this regularly weakens your real nails yes. I'm going to have to go natural soon. I'm filed to bits. 😢

Hi, what nail drill do you recommend for a beginner?
We have a few e-file options available on our website, youngnails.com.
How do you recommend removing gel nails without a drill?
For hard gels, you would have to file off the product with a hand file as it is non-porous and cannot be soaked off in acetone. If you are removing a gel polish or other soft gel, you can file off or soak off using acetone.
