Beautiful set! Your videos are always so helpful and satisfying to watch ❤️ Did you mention which hard gel you were using? I might have missed it but I really like the colour! And is there a particular reason you chose hard gel over soft gel?
You’re so so so beautiful, Anastasia!! I love all your videos and I’ve learned so much from you. I’m just always so blown away by your beauty! The yellow is gorgeous on you!!
You do such an amazing job!! I wish you were close to me. Can you please show detailed video on creating apex on short nails and shaping the free edge on short natural nails??
You do such beautiful work, tfs! Do you have any clients with vertical ridges on their nails? If so I would love to see you work on them and talk about any concerns/issues they present.
Here's my question! Since hard gel isn't soakable how thin is to thin to file it off/ down? Then after you file it down as much as you can is it best to just top it off with a gel color if any of your choice? How close is to close to get the cuticle for acrylic or gel placement? I love how you explain everything in your videos! Thank you! Love to you from Detroit, MI xoxo 😘 ❤
💞💞💓Anatasia, you are an awesome tutor! The way you expertly break down every detail is truly impressive❤❤Quick question, after I finished filling/blending the hard gel on the nail, is it possible to leave it that way temporarily for the day until I am able to attend to it the next day? I ran out of time and cannot continue the rest of the steps. OR do I need to put something on top of my nails to protect it before leaving it unfinished? If so, which one? Sorry, this is my first time to manicure and do hard gel - ever!
If a client has thin, cracking toenails, would you prefer to strengthen the nails with hard gel overlay or polygel? And what do you do for pedicures on yourself? I've been having problems here and there with pedicures. They're so much harder for me to do than manicures.

So cute and minimal design ❤️ could you please explain about different nail drill bits? How would you pick from all different types on different cases or situations …. Please ?
Thanks for this Anastasia! I’m learning to overlay on my very thin natural nails so they’re not tearing all of the time! I’ve noticed though that I’m getting some pain for a day or two after applying product in my hyponychium on one or two nails. Can you talk about some of the things to look out for if you’re new to overlay / extensions?
Hi I'm a licensed manicurist and I do overlays on my own nails and if you're experiencing some burning , what are your application steps when prepping the nail for overlay? Or apply some cuticle oil on your nails
@@youopened_mandorasbox Hi thanks so much! I’ll admit I’ve been stressing on this, since I’m not sure what else I could be allergic to! I have a nail drill and dust extractor. I push back the cuticle gently throughout the week and again just before I prep. I use a glass cuticle pusher/file to remove cuticle on the nail plate. I drill off the hard gel and if there are any lifted bits (if there are any, there usually are only just tiny slivers), then use a 180g sanding band to smooth out my cuticle transition and prep the natural nail (I’ve gotten a bit ambidextrous for this step, and have thin nails so had a steep but effective learning curve). I leave a very thin layer of overlay wherever possible now. I then use either alcohol or the dehydrator for the system I’m using, followed by the primer (I’ve been learning with Born Pretty products) prior to product. At the end of my application I apply a good amount of Solar Oil, and again throughout the week (dry hands are hard taskmasters)
Hello Anastasia, I hope that you are safe and well. I noticed that you don’t seem to wrap the tip or “seal” in the gel by putting topcoat on the free edge - I just wondered if there was any reason for this. Thank you 😊 Edit: I think I will try a hard gel overlay next time I do my nails you have given me confidence and advice from this video so thank you again
Hi Anastasia, I hope you are safe and well! This was a helpful video for me as a self-taught nail artist who loves doing their own nails. I was wondering if you had tips for doing this method on yourself? (the hard gel printer technique, either with forms or overlay). I just tried this technique on myself for my last set and I enjoyed it, but I had trouble with getting the sidewalls and free edge not too thick. When I filed my nails, there is a thickness underneath, as if there is no curve. It is probably something to do with my form application, but I tried to make sure the form was not pointing up or down, but straight and I put a strong C curve in the form. But I did almond nails, so I think when I filed, I filed away the thinner sidewalls and was left with thickness on the sides and underneath. It's basically flat thicker sides underneath and then the curve, it's like I built them super thick but the nails seem thin when I look from the top or sides. I'd love to see you do the hard gel method on yourself so I can see how you would hold your hand, or perhaps see you instruct one of your students in doing an overlay on themselves? I would love to see how you teach your students in person!
Which hard gel overlay product did u use here? It also looked to me like u used a separate brush to apply A thin layer first and then you use the brush that was in the bottle to apply the next layer can you tell me what this product was? You are one of my favourite instructors to watch❤
Haha, it's funny that I have stated a day or two ago, that I desperately need a seminar where I will get this exact thing explained!!! How to place an apex and what's the proper thickness of the gel overlay!!! I didn't realize before that it needed to be thinner on the sides and it explains why I always had troubles with the looks of the nail and I'd always do my best, but I wouldn't be happy, feeling that it needs something more to be done. I think I got my answer now, thank you very much for this video... off I go now to spend hours going through all other videos, as well :)
I have a couple of those stone bits you used on her cuticles. They are really soft, and they work great for cuticles! Especially now that my cuticles are really soft, not hard and dry; they remove so easily! I can now use the e-file for almost all my prep, but on a few fingers I still have to grab my nippers.
Enjoyed this video!! Question: if you remove the tacky layer I learned you’d need to file to get a gritty surface for the gel polish to adhere but you said that’s not true? Also, I have deep sidewalls, any tips on applying hard gel using the no file technique and keeping the nail narrow?
With most products you don't need to buff it after removal of sticky layer, it also depends on what you will apply on top - if its gel polish / soft gel - don't need to if it's regular color hard gel - it's better to buff it, especially the free edge area WIth deep sidewalls the technique is the same - keep the product in the center of the nail, don't let it go to the sidewalls! You can also use plastic clip to push back the sidewalls as I showed in this video - th-cam.com/video/lvGojildfBQ/w-d-xo.html
Your videos are so helpful and well explained! It’s also great you show shorter lengths. I’ve been looking for a hard gel like the one you used. Love the color. Do you mind listing the brand, please? Keep up the great work!
Mia Secret has a gel very similar to this color. It's called Formagel and the color is Cover Blush. You can find it on Amazon and it's pretty affordable.
If you search hard gel or builder gel on Amazon or other places that sell nail supplies you will find there are a ton of brands who produce this type of gel. I have the Saviland kit with a clear pot and nude color gel that came with forms, a small light, and all sorts of tools for $20! There are more expensive brands like IBD and YoungNails, but I couldn't afford to spend so much on the bigger jars from those companies. But YoungNails has a try out kit for builder gel and it's a ton of product, everything you need for $20. Hope this helps! I know Anastasia uses the brands I mentioned and others as well :)
@@LovelyDollyDays oooh, that starter set from Young Nails is awesome! That's the set that started me on my hard gel journey. I love their gels, but yeah, they're not cheap in the bigger sizes. That one I mentioned above is almost the exact same color as the Young Nails cover pink.
@@Nails_By_Kimberlee Awesome, thanks so much! Their cover pink is gorgeous! It's just personal preference, of course! I just love the Russian style :) Thanks for letting me know about the more affordable alternative to YN. I also got their set as my first hard gel and I still have some bc I have been "saving" it, but I should really use it! Warm wishes :)

Should I cap the free edge with gel? If so, when do I do it? When I using the builder/overlay gel or when I put the topcoat on? I never know if this is necessary or not
Hello! I really enjoyed your video. It was very informative :) I just have a quick question. If a client wants to go from having hard gel on their nails to soft gel and their nails are pretty long after doing a refill, when filing down, do you also just file down the natural nail underneath? Afterwards, do you just refill with the regular soft gel base, colour and top coat on top of the hard gel? Thanks in advance!
I love it . Thank u for the tips. Can you please do a video on how do Gel X nails and how to apply gel nail polish without getting it on the skin thank you in advance
I'm obsessed with your videos! Thank you :) can you share more about dry manicure? I never know whrn to stop filing, it looks like no matter how deep under the cuticle i file, there's always dust, when is it enough? Should I only file the nail plate that's visible or should I continue filing under the skin?
Beautiful ❤ I learning how to do my own nails - the ppl in the nail shops that I’ve been to are not gentle, rushed, lack sanitation, nails look horrible I’d rather spend money on purchasing products on doing my own
I’m surprised you didn’t file/ shape the gel, your application was so even and perfect that you didn’t need it! Amazing. I am not talented enough to pull that off
You popped up on my video feed 2 weeks ago and can’t get enough of your videos and so detailed explanations, especially the one about the toe nail removal video I’ve been experiencing the same thing but not quite as bad as that lady’s. It’s getting there after using Jublia from DR, which wasn’t that bad but I wanted it gone. Instead now the whole nail is about to come off,but corners of old nail are still in tact, but can see the new nail already. First question is, is there absolutely no kind of nail polish that you can put on there until the nail grows? Plus I know you said don’t do it yourself but I want to so bad after watching your video. Im 90% sure I can do it as I’ve been cutting the separated nail little by little as it’s growing out but of course taking forever, I have all the drills etc. I’m going to do it as soon as we can’t wear open shoes which is only about 2 mos away here, will it grow a good length by next summer? Praying for you and your family, and stay safe. Thank you. L
Thank you. I do an overlay on my nails because they can grow pretty long. I have to file under some of them because they curve downward and I have to fix a lot them that don't want to grow straight.
If you get too much gel on one side or it's not leveling properly or it's bumpy, can you Violet with an e-file to smooth it out and then buff it? Or is that going to break the seal?

I'm obsessed with your videos! Thank you :) can you share more about dry manicure? I never know whrn to stop filing, it looks like no matter how deep under the cuticle i file, there's always dust, when is it enough? Should I only file the nail plate that's visible or should I continue filing under the skin?
This set was beautifully done! Thanks for sharing. Is it Possible to do that application technique you did with the hard gel using builder gel?
Love the video. My gel isn’t so soft to move around. Are we supposed to mix regularly?
What kind of product use for overlay ? It looks flawless
Love your technique. Excellent information. Nails looks good!

Hi:) what hard gel product did you use?
You have a real gift my dear! ❤❤❤
Would it be possible to post the 2 bits you use at the beginning? TY!! Love your videos btw!
Love your videos! Thank you for sharing all of your tips and tricks 💕✨
Glad you like them!
They look amazing , can you please just say the step as per #1 file off old polish and continue until done . Thanks you did a beautiful job .😊🌹🌹🌹
Amazing. I am not talented enough to pull that off
Right?!? Her work is pretty flawless
So beautiful, fantastic job!
Thank you so much!
I wish there was someone in my area that took the time to do such impeccable work.
I love watching you. Very inspiring
What products did you use ? I didn’t see them listed. 💅🏼
Beautiful and natural looking.
Wot beautiful nails u hav Barbara I'm jealous, they look amazin so elegant xxxxxxxx
i’m still self learning on how to do my nails. Can you explain why did choose to not cure the base gel polish, and apply builder gel right on top?
Or is that going to break the seal?
thanks for the tips! good and satisfying video!
As usual….lovely!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hi my name is Tahira From Pakistan 🇵🇰 and I see your video on hard gel I'm happy to hear that you said and I learned a lot of important things best of luck 🤞 ☺️ 🇵🇰🤲
Hello Anastasia, thank you for the informative content. I wanted to ask you, if I am putting gel polish for someone, do I need to cure it in lamp one by one? and why is it so. I was doing four fingers in a row, I am not sure if this is correct. I will be extremely grateful for your advice.
Are there any big differences or situations where is would be better to use hard gel versus soft gel for overlays?
are there any special brands you can recomend? or do you have any favuorite products for this type of manicure?
I love how you do nails I just had a bad experience☹️ Are you in New York City?
