I just love that Suzie has her own nails beautifully manicured and polished. I used to hate getting my nails done by a tech who had raggedy nails. I know it's a lil weird, but it's a pet peeve of mine.
It makes sense because the way they take care of their nails can show how they might take care of yours

I have to say I'm the raggedy nails nail tech 😂 used to be. Now I take the time out of my schedule to do my nails. I know other techs that neglect their nails, mostly so they can take care of clients
Those are hard working nails which is a good thing. Can't really blame them for that though. It's difficult for them to work with fancy nails. Their nails probably get jacked up because of working with so many files and drills. I wouldn't do my nails either if I was a nail tech. The work should speak for itself.
My nail tech always keeps her nails short but they're in good shape. She's hard on her hands and is constantly showing clients what polishes look like on her own nails so with all the remover, chemicals and such, it's not surprising she doesn't wear polish. Her toes, however, are always impeccable!

Except they pop off easier if you use peel off base coat ;.; which really sucks if you don't notice that you lost a nail coating so you can't reapply it ;.;
This is mainly an issue if you have really thin nails with a weak c-curve that flex/flatten too much when you do some manual labour or put too much weight on your fingers in any way making the top deform from it.

We have a mall nail salon that does a lot of seniors feet. Many large seniors condos nearby. The technicians are always very professional. It's so nice that they offer that service and so cute to walk by and see them all in there getting pampered.

I'm doing my nails for the first time in 20 years!!! All because I discovered the magnetic nail polish that look like a galaxy. I did it the first time a few weeks ago at home and the removal was really bad, my nails were lightly damaged. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO!!!! I have this question too. Removal is so harsh on my natural nails I can't stand it. I'm gonna try it anyway next time I do my nails and have to remove. Couldn't hurt to try it.

Kayla Buckner These polishes are specially formulated to be peel off. If you try this with any polish, gel, fake or regular, it will not work.

Well, that's one cute golden-doodle or labradoodle! It's very hard to tell a golden retriever cross from a golden labrador cross. I adore labs and standard poodles. They are some of the best, most intelligent dogs I've ever known, except for the border collie cow dogs my Dad had when I was a kid.
Sadly, working cattle dogs aren't great family pets, generally speaking. They are a bit too handy with their herding and nipping. One time my younger cousins were over and one of the border collies herded all the little kids into a corner of the yard and wouldn't let them out! He truly thought he was keeping them safe, and he didn't break any skin, he just pinched a few kids to keep them where he thought they would be safe, in the corner of the yard.

Thank you for this video! Getting to a nail salon was not an option for me so this video came in handy teaching me how to remove my gel nail polish. Watching Suzie was absolutely delightful! She was so professional, passionate and enthusiastic about her craft! I like how she compared doing nails to painting a wall. She also has such an open spirit and excitement about learning new things even though she has years of experience doing nails! Yes!!!! I love this. I use a peel off base coat with my gel polish and it works fine. But, it definitely won't last for 10 days!

Just want to say I tried your technique today using acrylic with kiara sky Jelly Nails. Brilliant! Kiara sky was a nightmare for me with the straight gel / tip application.... Peeled up. Then I did your process. Wow! I was a nail tech back in the day 80's before license was required, so Acrylic is hands down the most reliable nail application no matter what latest trend comes out. Thku!
This seems lovely, but I want Suzie to test Cristine's peely base - or a similar peel off base for nail polish - on gel nails like she has, and give her opinion. Perhaps do a wear test for durability and longevity. Cuz this seems nice and all, but the ones Cristine uses seems simpler.

Brilliant for pedicures!! Gel polish on toes.. amazing for zero dry time.. clients can put socks and shoes on right way.. down side having to file off gel polish from toenails for the colour change.. LOVE that you would just file the edge buff and soak while client relaxes in the water anyway! Peeling off to reveal a healthy toe nail plate .. not having to drill then soak then re-polish potentially trapping extra moisture!! Fab!

Thank you so much! My cuticle was poorly trimmed by the nail tech - with nippers, and it left blood stains underneath the gel pedicure. This helped me get the gel off and clean my wounded cuticle(s) without harsh chemicals. 🙏

I had the opposite experience. I couldn’t get mine off. I tried to remove it correctly but it wouldn’t budge. I ended up gently filling my nails until it was gone then letting my nail bed grow all the way off.
That is so cool the way the just slide off. My first manicure and I was caught off guard with gel nails. Now they've grown out and look awful, I was wondering what to do. Thank You

I do peel off gel all the time with my natural nail. Process I use is one I discovered accidentally. I do not use any marketed peel off product. No soaking in anything I just put on nail oil before I peel it off.
One thing that always surprises me about her that she somehow doesn’t “believe “ in capping the free edge. It’s how gel is meant to have longevity.
Lol I know but I do gel nails and I forget to cap the free edge all the time... Thank God they don't chip
It varies by system. Some advise capping some do not like bio seaweed gel. Not all gels are created alike
Well it’s awefully weird then that in cosmetology school in United States you are taught to always cap the free edge on anything you do bc it looks nice and last the longest it can. But I’m just a nail tech what the hell would I know.
And the reason your gel is stalling is probably that it did wrap to the top of the free edge. Liquids like, sayyyy a gel, tend to spread slightly. I mean it is science after all.

That is amazing how you can remove the gel polish with warm water. I wonder if that will interfere on the next gel polish application because I hear that is not good to soak the nails for a long time in order to the polish adhere to the natural nail.
