    Hey guys,
    I hope you enjoyed this review. If so, you could really help me out by heading over to my newest one, it's on a 2017 Mercedes AMG GT. It's not every day I get the chance to drive/film such special cars, so I'd really appreciate you taking a look. Even a couple views can help TH-cam suggest the video. Thanks so much!

    I adore my 2014 GT. It’s a street brawler straight from the factory, and I get more looks, stares, and compliments in this car than any I have owned in my life. I get excited drive it, just as the when I had a brand new 1987 Ford Mustang GT 30 years ago. Very much the most bang for the buck.

  • @MrPachellid

    And this engine was underrated in HP from the factory as well. I believe it was closer to 430-435 hp when released. There are some articles/reviews out there where it was put on a dyno and was proven to be more than what was advertised. These are modern day classics. The dedication of the design team of the Coyote was unprecedented during its development! Piston oil cooling as well too, which was eliminated in newer versions. Badass road machines!

    • @VTOffRoadAdventures
      @VTOffRoadAdventures ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The oil squirters were removed in 2013 I believe. The hood vents became standard to help reduce heat in 13 for this reason. The biggest issue with the 11-12 coyotes is the rod bearings being the same as the 4.6 3 valve engines. I did the write up on how to fix the coyote knock when mine started knocking and I discovered the part number for the bearings is the same for the 4.6.

    I also have a 2011 6 speed manual and I love it. I put a supercharger on it last year and it made an already great car better. Even makes those dreary Monday morning drives to work fun.
    I typically hold on to my vehicles about 5 years, just enough time to pay it off and move on to the next one, but I have no intention of letting this one go even after 10 years. I suppose I'll eventually move on to a newer Mustang, but this one will sit in garage right next to it.

      Nice! My car could’ve definitely used the Brembos haha. Don’t know what you’re running for wheels/tires, but I’ll say this, going to a 275 section square tire setup made the car handle amazing, even with an otherwise stock suspension. Something to consider in the future!

    As a S197 driver myself, this is the most accurate and honest review by far. Yes, it has its flaws, but also many upsides. My car has the Brembo package, where not only the brakes are sufficent for normal to sporty driving, but also the suspension is slightly upgraded, compared to the stock GT. And I cant agree more, this car rewards with the stellar engine and also the looks. You cant get anything near that, for what this car costs. And it can be anything you want, a drifter, a quarter mile tool, a daily driver....or a bit of everything and still looking awesome. I live in Germany and know many other cars, but this has earned my love and its going to stay.
    Edit: oh, did I mention, what FUN it is to drive 🥰

    Ive got a stock 2013 GT Premium and I'm never getting rid of it. This is probably one of the only reviews of a stock 2011-2014 Mustang GT I can find. It looks like they improved the brakes after 2011 because mine are factory stock and they look larger and they stop on a dime and are very grabby. My fiancee has a 2012 Mustang GT which is also stock and the brakes are visibly smaller and her car does not stop as hard as mine does. I've also had the same complaint about the stock suspension and I plan on changing it. We both have the Getrag MT82 6spd transmissions and though they aren't the best we haven't experienced any problems with them at all and they work rather well. Thank you so much for this review!!

    This review was the best I've seen so far, gave a real world outlook and the footage is superb. I'll interject on why people crash these sometimes, it is because many of the drivers who move to them grew up on front wheels drive cars and have no experience with a rear wheel drive vehicle. They don't take time to relearn before they start romping down and get in trouble.

    • @BuzzytheBlue

    Great video, still have my 2012 Mustang GT, only car I have ever had for 10 years. The key to handling is Watts Link rear end, koni or ford racing suspensions, 6 piston Brembo, Bama Tune or SCT, if you have a Gregtec manual, spend the money and drop a Tremec, enjoy...

With a tune bama or sct tune has firmer shifts and all gears go to redline and gets up and goes. • @kevinbranagan3463
    @kevinbranagan3463 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This review is excellent. As an owner of the exact same car (including color) as the video I agree with all the drawbacks but should add they are easily and economically fixable if you know what you’re doing.
    He is correct that the early MT82 is in garbage. Shifter asst tends to move laterally under load, I missed 2-3 and bounced off the rev limiter enough times to know. Best solution is a titanium shifter bracket that takes the slop right out. I bought one from Steeda that made a world of a difference.
    The non-Brembo brakes are undersized as well, but a good quality set of aftermarket rotors and hybrid track pads bring braking performance closer to what it needs to be for a >400hp car.
    Stock brake dive and bucking under acceleration are also an issue. Firmer set of shocks (I chose Koni STRs) with the stock springs keep it flat going into the corners and reduce oversteer coming out. With around $2000 worth of mild targeted modifications this car is capable of being a world beater.

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most people don’t understand just how capable these are with a handful of tweaks. Suspension and a good set of tires and it’s a drivers race between this and an E90 M3 on any road/track. I love my M cars but I wasn’t so disillusioned as to downplay the capability of these Mustangs. Unbelievable value for money.

    • @kevinbranagan3463
      @kevinbranagan3463 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is a video out there somewhere of Randy Pobst doing timed laps around Willow Springs (I think) in an ‘11 GT and an M3. From what I remember the lap times were almost identical.
      Also I noticed towards the end of the video opening the throttle going uphill you had some pretty serious oversteer….nice correction. I don’t think I could get mine to step out that much if I tried, what kind of tires are you running?

      Thanks man! Had a whole message typed recommending something slower but, 🤷🏻‍♂️ at 19 I was driving something almost this quick and was fine. You’ve just gotta be careful. Some tips; don’t take traction control off for months while you’re getting used to the car (unless you’re in an empty parking lot), don’t show off on the street, and most important, don’t drive beyond your ability. Keep those things in mind and go for it! Just remember, respect the car and be humble.

    Nice video. Here's is my take (philosophy) on the Mustang: Starting in 2011 with the improvements in the V6, V8 and now Ecoboost, the cars and engines are so vastly better than the original 65-66, that there is nothing to complain about. Hard plastics, big deal. The Mustang is not a luxury car and has always been built to be "affordable", although that term is not realistic for the current models. The price for a 65-66 just keeps going up and yet try using one for a daily commuter or a long trip, then you will really appreciate the modern Mustang. One reason the 65-66 are popular is the styling. The 2005-2012 was a great retro design. The changes to the front and rear of the 2013-2014 are fine, but lost some of the retro look. I've noticed that the online websites sell the 2011-2014 Mustangs very quickly at ever increasing prices.

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 5.0 is a much better engine than the 5.7. The more direct comparison would be the 6.4 (392). As far as reliability the Coyotes are extremely durable and reliable, the Dodge V8s are great but I’ve heard of quite a few large failures and problems, the owner of the 392 on this channel actually had a complete engine failure on his 2018.

      Generally speaking if it’s been well taken of these cars are very simple and affordable to upkeep. If it hasn’t been done already, at 120K it’s likely time for a basic “tune-up”, plugs, coils, etc. Otherwise, these cars really aren’t too fussy. Maintenance/ownership history is more important than mileage.

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The manual transmission is the weak link though so watch out for any consistent “lock-outs” or abnormal gear whine. The MT-82 can last a long time if driven smoothly, but when beat on it tends deteriorate.

      Probably already did this, if it needs it or not, new fuel pump, alternator, plugs, coil pack, battery. Have 114,000 on 2012, no issues. But in the process in replacing things that will eventually go out. If you do long road trips you will be glad you did. I still in the original parts listed above and the water pump. These coyotes and Chevy LS motors are known for performance and longevity.
