2012 GT Automatic 6R80, with 100,000 no problems. No shift paddles, just D for drive, monster with tune. Also bought at 32,000 no tick. Longest car I have ever had and enjoyed. Great video !
I got a 13 GT last year with 43,000 miles for a great price and I've wanted one ever since it came out. I should mention make sure to look for the paint condition on these cars. My paint sucks that's the only gripe I had about it. Swirls, chips and some clear coat fade by the rocker panels. I was too excited at the time since it was the only with the trackpack, brembos, and premium package around my area and didn't do my due diligence examining the paint that I should of. However, it drives so damn sweet love it.

I've been watching your videos for a while looking for tips for when I get mine. Was having a hard time over the last year and a half or so finding under 45k miles and under $29k. But I'm proud to say today I'm finally a owner! Just got a '13 GT CA special 23k miles automatic
I bought a 2013 Ford Mustang 5.0 with a 6 speed manual transmission with 3.73 rear end. Traded it in for a 2018 6 speed manual transmission with 3.55 rear end. I found that the 2013 was quicker than the 2018 and was more fun to drive but the 2018 has a better shifter and with the IRS is a lot more stable. I do miss the 2013 GT.
I didn’t think 10-12 tail lights fit in 13-14. Im almost certain they are much fatter. When putting the 13-14 in the 10-12s, a gap is left under the tail light. Just my input. Keep up the good work!
They have an angle to them at the bottom that makes them too big to fit into a 13-14. You can see the diff if you go to AM... they sell a piece that fills that angle when putting 13-14 tail lights in a 10-12.
Wrong. They do fit cause I bought my 14 with 11-12 tails on it. The dealer I bought it from put them on it cause the stocks was stolen. If I could I would show the pic of them on but I cant post pic on here and I've already replaced to the correct stocks
jacob bienvenu - Wrong. They will NOT fit unless the rear bumper was changed to an earlier bumper. Your car was likely hit in the rear end. You might want to get under it and look.
One huge thing you need to look out for on the 13-14 automatics, is transmission slip. Had a new 14 and it constantly would slip around second and third and turns out had lots of contamination and eventually Ford authorized a full transmission replacement and never had a problem again. But you are correct on the headlights. The assembly’s cost around $980 a piece and do not include bulbs, Ballasts and wires. Together it’s almost $4k to replace them out of pocket. I had aftermarket work done to the oem headlights, diode dynamics RGBW DTRLs and then a shop wired them backwards after I had bought a new controller and it fried the Green LEDs... But that peeling on the deck lid panel may actually not be peeling. It could be contamination. I’ve had that happen before and got it out with heavy duty clay. I was surprised it came out.
Get the GT premium from 2015 to 2017. Why? Well there's good deals on them rate now and I think the front end on the 15 to 17 look better than the mustangs from 18 to 2020. I bought one 8 months ago for 28,200 and it has been so much fun/amazing to drive. First off I do like the look of the 11 to 14 5.0's but new gen's have a curvy sleeker sexy look which makes it a constant head turner everywhere I go. Also why get the premium? I would say for the heated/cooled powered leather seats and for the switches that let you click through 4 different modes. The 4 you can switch through include normal, sport +,snow/wet, and track mode which turns off tc for a funner exsperience. Of course you have a switch to turn traction control off on all modes but not recommend on wet roads unless you have good tires. Idk there's just something about the newer body style with that leather interior that makes it come together not to mention numerous new after market parts to make your new S550 pop out. The only downside about the premium vs getting the normal new gen 5.0 is you'll be a little heavier with the leather/few extra accessories but that doesn't bother me running at 435 stock with a little more horse power in the 2016 to 17 models. I plan on getting mine up another 100 horse power within the next 6 months to a year but not to much more than that. You know stuff like air raid intake with tuner, new throttle body/spacer, and that amazing sounding Corsa sport cat back exhaust with black quad tips are first on my list for adding horsepower. Also planning on smoking out all my lights as well as getting rid of the chrome 5.0 emblem with the black 5.0 emblem. I also plan on deleting rear GT emblem with the matte black declid panel as well as blacking out the front mustang emblem. I plan on painting my stock hood matte black which will go great with my guard mettalic body color. Getting ready to order my mmp 551 matte black wheels with 1.50 inch black billet aluminum hub centric spacer to give it that stocky/beefed up look. Also planning on ordering the SR performance sport coil over kit to drop it 1.5 or 2 inches. I could go on for awhile about my plans for my 2015;but you get the point that there's numerous aftermarket parts you can do to make them look even better than they already do. I guess everyone has their preference for what mustang year/model and engine they want even though the 5.0 is the most popular. For me I've always loved the older fox body's(I owned 3) and now the new gen mustang gt is absolutely my favorite. Also I noticed in his video that he doesn't have the screen in the middle that comes in all new gen mustangs which I thought is pretty cool and so far has worked perfectly for me even the Bluetooth. Another important thing to remember is 2015 was the first year that ford finally put independent rear wheel drive where as any model older than that you get the same old two rear tires spinning at the same time which causes the mustangs made under 2015 handle alot worse. I can honestly say my 2015 is the first mustang I drove that I felt I could fly into a corner without worrying about losing control or wondering when it's going to lose grip but like I said it's all in what you prefer and the biggest thing what you can afford even though the new gen's are not as crazy expensive as what you might think. All you can do is call dealership and see what your options are. Good luck with finding your mustang and always remember ford is the only way to go 😉.
@@Mscogg12 dude you are way off base, these dudes don't have 30k to spend and why would they? you can get a 13 or 14 that will be just as fast and look like a real muscle car
@@hillbillyartscrafts4367 it's all in what you prefer but id rather have the newer S550 because it sounds like a muscle car but handles way better than the stangs from 14 and under. You don't have to get the GT premium you could get a 2015 base gt for around 24 to 27,000. I love all the 5.0 though. I had 3 fox body 5.0's . I will say that I didn't like the 4.6 liter stangs that came after the old fox body 5.0 but anyway I was just listing my reasons why you should get the newer S550 for those who didn't know that they are easier to get then they think.
I think the tick was only a thing with 2018 and first year of direct injection. I have a 2014, admittedly it is a garage queen with few miles, but it works perfectly. Deep impact blue, with automatic. it is fast enough. Yes I am old, and only 2400 miles. I probably keep until i can't drive any more. i love it. To me, yes i am biased, these are peak Mustang in looks. The 2013-2014
Lol, Minnesota mustang peep here too. I look at Craigslist constantly and you’re right, it’s like everyone wants 25-26k for it. Even with considerable mileage people are holding onto these things. It’s wild
100k for 11-14 pony is outrageous. Who in their right mind would pay that much for a 14 year old car, you're much better off just getting a super cobra or gt500 shelby.
My 2014 5.0 Ruby Ann is the best car Ive ever had in my 62 years. F'ing fun to drive. And she handles quite well. I can eat up anyone in the corners AND most everyone in the straights!
Art B. Bought my 2013 5.0 GT premium last year. It had 3400 miles on it. I love these cars. Great fun. I bought the car when I lived in Mass. Drove it to my new home in Florida a month later. I’ve started with the upgrades and mods. Hoping to pick your brain later if you will let me. Thanks.
I bought my 98 GT last December. My first mustang ever and I fell in love with it. I'm selling it now and I'm trying to get a 2011 GT auto with 94k miles for 10,900$. At first I wanted a 15 GT but the 11 still has the coyote and is much cheaper.
Nice my pic is my 98 GT here. I bought a 14 GT almost 4 years ago now and I’ll tell you the 98 is built better in every way. May not have the power of the coyote but the SN-95 models are much more reliable
I bought my 14 new and put a roush supercharger on it at 52k miles with the roush tune. I’m at 92k miles now still have the stock clutch with no issues. Early on I had the 2 to 3 shift lock out and I put the blowfish racing bracket on it solved the problem. I have the slight tick but no blow by, I have run synthetic oil since 15k miles.
@@huskysharky9025 You just gotta find a way to save up as well as shop around a bit and you’ll find the one. 9 months later after I posted this comment I finally got myself a nice 2010 GT. It’s well worth the grind.💪
My brother just bought an all black base model 2014 mustang gt with some nice wheels,it’s lowered, and has roush axle back exhaust, with 72k miles, it was a 2 owner car, got it for 23k, let me tell you, coming from a 96 cobra, an 03 Mach 1, the 2014 mustang gt is a huuuuuuge improvement all around!!! It rides so smooth! The hydraulic clutch is soft compared to the old cable driven ones in the older mustangs, the drive by wire throttle is a much nicer feel, the shifter location is so comfortable and they go in so smooth into gears compared to the older new edges and sn95’s! I’m so glad and proud of my brother for getting that car! It’s a car he’s always wanted way before the s550 chassis even came out
About the coyote tick, I bought my 12’ boss 302 with 2700 miles. No tick whatsoever, but after the first oil change with oem motorcraft. It started ticking. 10k miles later I barely notice it, it’s just a Ford thing lol
If you have the sync, you don’t have to say “Bluetooth audio” you can do it manually and it’s way easier, I can show you a video but it is annoying connecting the phone to it sometimes
not entirely, I bought mine when I was 19 and yeah I still lived with my parents, but I'm 21 now moved out and still have the car. The payment on it is actually my least expensive bill every month. Picked up for $17k in summer of 2018.
Ta1on believe me I just bought my house last year. I’m 23. There would be very very little room for me to have finical freedom if I owned a gt. I also have a very decent job along with my wife
Well I’m old as fuck I been driving the same car 12 years my wife is forcing me to get a car i have always wanted a mustang she wants the 2020 but I like the older models and I also hate bills
When I had a mustang my 4.6 made that ticking sound too. It was notorious with the 4.6 and 5.4 motors. It drove me nuts and I never found out what it was. Ultimately in the 60k miles and 5 years I owned the car it never got worse or caused a problem. Side note, I'm interested in a rebuild and have subbed incase you do it. Thanks!
Got my 2013 5.0 of this year, 2021 and I got it for just $13,000 with 60k miles and now they’re going for around $25,000-$30,000 that’s just crazy. I absolutely love that car

For the corona market I feel this is a very good deal and I won’t have to add any mods right away except for my subs of course :)
Literally just had one given to my wife and I. A doctor she used to work for had one abandoned at one of his rental houses and wanted it gone. So here I am seeing what can be done to it.
Good video I bought my 2013 last year I managed to get mine for 23k but it was garage kept with only 10k miles on it. Its a got to have it green premium with a glass roof. It also had borla atak exhaust ford performance full suspension relocated lca Barton short throw spec 2 clutch one piece alu driveshaft fays2 watts link and a few other minor things. I was also able to find the original owner and get the tuner for the car and all details on the work and and paperwork.
I think the ticking is just a Ford v8 thing, my 5.4 3v also ticks a lot but I use it as a drift truck for car meets and beat the shit out of it and it just keeps goin
I have a 13 boss 302 with 2200 miles and it seriously hates getting hustled through the gears, especially third. These problems aren't unique to only the gt.
Very useful information, every car is fine rolling off the lot brand new but only after age do you know what's good and what's crap. When cars hit that age that's when depreciation layeth the smackdown and the best value's can be had. This is where you can get the best bang for your buck and avoid headaches at the same time.
This video is 2 years old and here in Sweden the cheapest 5.0 is around 25k and if you want a well maintained one it's easley 30k. The V6 ones are around 22k.

Yup, the hood bubbles is a factory defect. I had a 2012 v6 Mustang that had them and now I have a 2012 Boss 302 that also has the bubbles. It actually chipped up when I was cleaning it so now it's in the shop being redone through insurance.
I own a 14 gt cs and I want to do a 302 boss intake with full corsa long headers and exhaust but I don’t k ka what tunes or tuners I should get and this guy said not to trust bama but would it be a really bad idea to get it just for those 2 mods or should I go for the others like Lund which is hella expensive or palm dyno
I have A14GT and my hood is bubbling on the front driver side lip. It's sucks it's not A cheap repair, I've gotten 3 estimates anywhere from 6 to $800!

Nice video. I have a 2014 GT base model that I bought new. Only option was the auto trans. It only has about 32,000 miles on it and is the most fun car I have ever owned. The only mods I've done to mine are the GT500 over the axle pipes and GT500 single tip mufflers, Factory aluminum diff cover, Bob's auto sports catch cans, added a factory strut tower bar, added color matched rear side window louvers, and factory Mustang 19" take off wheels.
I got a '12 5.0. It has the engine tick but does not seem to be an issue. I got the 6 speed manual and the synchros sucked. 4th to 5th gear always ground. I got the car used but only 2 years old with 23k so Ford actually replaced the whole transmission under warranty. After that ran fine. Love the car. Lots of power and nice handling. Had it 8 years and it has 98k on it.
I bought my '14 in 2019 with just under 60k miles on it. Stock base model gt. Engine had a little gasket leak but no other issues. I've driven it like an absolute 12 year old boy playing need for speed and have yet to even have the clutch slip. Only thing I have replaced is spark plugs (out of an abundance of caution really) and tires. This car is a tank although the interior is falling apart. Door panel fell off. Shift knob crumbled in. Steering wheel is peeling. Seat belts don't retract. It's really kind of a piece of shit and I love it so much. 110k miles and still going strong and smoking camaros.
Good video I bought 2011 GT 2 years ago with 63k on it now only has 67k only added cold air kit and hurst short throw shifter my goal is too leave it as close too stock as possible because I own and drove 5.0 mustangs back in the 90 and I saw how those old fox bodies got hot rod into oblivion .and now a well preserved one is worth big $ sow ten years from know I’d like too be able too still enjoy mine because it looks great an runs awesome it came with premium interior up grade and the upgraded brakes 19 inch wheel 355 rear gears .i really hate that I didn’t keep my 1991 GT. 5.0 beautiful car was the deep Jewel green with gray ground effects .the mustang has come a long way.✌️👍
I’m reading all these comments about people buying their mustangs and damn, I guess I can say I got lucky with my purchase lol. I got a 2013 mustang gt premium 6 speed for 18k, 73k miles i’m the 2nd owner, car came from Texas and bought it at Lodi from a small dealership. Freakin love it but he is right about the transmission/ clutch, 3rd gear sometimes be acting up on me.
If someone actually wants to buy one of these used, you need to talk to the previous owner. if they let it warm up before driving, and they topped the oil off between changes, then i would have to concern with a 100k+ regardless of tick. the cams are finicky, and shouldnt be neglected
I'm loving the video! I'm to buy my first Mustang GT in May. I'm hoping a 11 to 17. Maybe! But something to start my channel in Chicago. Good food for thought when looking at those cars.
I was in a similar situation where I went to go look at a 2012 mustang with my dad a while back. Going into fifth gear it sounded like you were trying to put it into reverse, the windows were down and the grind was so bad I heard the sound reflecting off of buildings and back into the car

4:45 if you have a base there is a SYNC button but it’s basically a dummy button. Ford probably put the same buttons in the base and premium but in the base it does nothing
1:25 That happened with my 2014/2015 Ford Edge. After you drive the car and turn it off to let it cool down it will make like a metal ticking noise or something. It isn't a major issue, it sounds kinda nice T.B.H. but there isn't anything to worry about.
Check that the vent on the rear axle isn't stopped up. Ford put a "rattle cap" instead of a tube and it collects road grime. Blew out my pinion seal because of this.
Got my 2014 6MT Premium with 32k miles for 22k. Only had borla ATAK catback and RTR wheels. Everything else was stock. I think it was a great deal, bought it from an older guy who took great care of it. Currently at 40k miles and I’ve added Barton short throw shifter, PMAS CAI with a lund tune and the rear decklid due to the peeling paint. Maybe a clutch is coming next...
I’m looking to getting a Mustang but I’m not sure which direction to go. I really like the S550’s but they are still too expensive for me. I like the ‘11-14 as well. Which trans to choose? I feel like it should be a manual but I am getting older and my knees don’t like me sometimes so maybe an automatic? I like that you didn’t come down on the automatic since I may go that route. I would like a nice cruiser with the V8 rumble with an occasion jab at the loud pedal (well maybe a little more than occasional). Thank you for being straightforward with all your recommendations I appreciate that as do many others. I realize your video is two years old I just subscribed so I suppose I need to catch up on a few things.

Besides that, 46 years old and finally got a chance to buy the car. My dreams I've been given to my family my whole life and it was my turn to finally get myself something. So any pointers and help you can come up with sounds great.
I was surprised it came out.
is this issue in the 11-12 as well or just 13-14? they use the exact same transmission in the 11 to 14 correct?
@@joshm2838 yes you are correct
I'll be honest man if you buy an auto gt you deserve every slip you get 😅
Well that is your fault then isn't it you do not buy these cars to be in automatic 🤡
@@philvillafana2584not like MT82 doesn't have problems either, but yeah manual is better

My dad just bought a 2014 Ford Mustang gt today can’t wait to see it when he pulls up🤭
How was it bro?!
Lucky as fuck
Update?
Kid never replied because his dad ran into him with the crowd killer as soon as he pulled up.
I found my 2014 with 16k miles
I think the tick was only a thing with 2018 and first year of direct injection. I have a 2014, admittedly it is a garage queen with few miles, but it works perfectly. Deep impact blue, with automatic. it is fast enough. Yes I am old, and only 2400 miles. I probably keep until i can't drive any more. i love it. To me, yes i am biased, these are peak Mustang in looks. The 2013-2014
I’m about to purchase a 2014 Ford Mustang!

It's very rare to find a 11-14 5.0 here in Minnesota under 20k! Especially under 100k
Lol, Minnesota mustang peep here too. I look at Craigslist constantly and you’re right, it’s like everyone wants 25-26k for it. Even with considerable mileage people are holding onto these things. It’s wild
I have a 2012 with only 36,000 miles on it right now.
@@scottwarden3560 you’ve got that nice pentastar engine then I believe, she’s a minter. Keep it rippin and it’ll take care of you forever dude.
Michigan is the same way. You aren't getting a mustang under 20k unless its old as hell with no mods.
100k for 11-14 pony is outrageous. Who in their right mind would pay that much for a 14 year old car, you're much better off just getting a super cobra or gt500 shelby.
Man I hope prices come back down this low. I can't find an 11-14 for anywhere near these prices. Love your vids bro, keep up the awesome work 😁
My 2014 5.0 Ruby Ann is the best car Ive ever had in my 62 years. F'ing fun to drive. And she handles quite well. I can eat up anyone in the corners AND most everyone in the straights!
Use Pennzoil ultra platinum 5w30 and no more tick.
I like the look of then11-14 way better too, interior is still gorgeous
Wow nice deal
2010-2014 are my favorite years for the Mustang GT. I worked out a goal to buy one next year. I’ll be 21 then.
Same here I really want one because of the movie nfs these prices be crazy though
Very annoying!
How to afford these cars at 20 = live with your parents.
not entirely, I bought mine when I was 19 and yeah I still lived with my parents, but I'm 21 now moved out and still have the car. The payment on it is actually my least expensive bill every month. Picked up for $17k in summer of 2018.
younome not true I bought mine when I was 19 and have my own apartment. The way to afford these cars is to just work hard when you go to works
No just have good credit and have a job to afford the payments👌🏾
Check for wet or molded floor boards, most mustang's flood from the cabin filter drains clogging. Some will get a crack in the firewall and leak.
Thanks!

I bought my '14 in 2019 with just under 60k miles on it. Stock base model gt. Engine had a little gasket leak but no other issues. If someone actually wants to buy one of these used, you need to talk to the previous owner. if they let it warm up before driving, and they topped the oil off between changes, then i would have to concern with a 100k+ regardless of tick. the cams are finicky, and shouldnt be neglected

Gonna go ahead and get me a 14’ for my first V8. I have a boosted 3.7 S550, and if I’m going to buy another mustang I might as well collect every model. I’m going to see if I can find a cheap new edge also!
Jeez, 13-14 Mustang GT’s are hard to find for reasonable prices under $20,000 with comparable mileages. 🙄😤
Lost out one one for 17k....GT Premium, 45k on it.
I saw a 14 GT for 14,999 In NC I was mad when it was sold
I do see a few good once but there so dam far most are over priced by 5k
TheJiggs666 that same car is selling for 27k at a place I’m looking at now
@@rubenscott3972 Might as well get a 2015 and up at that price point.
I found a supercharged roush mustang with a roll cage, seats, exhaust, and a number of other mods for 16k it had 32k miles on it and was this rich kids project car that he never really drove. I ended up getting a super clean stock California special, but sometimes I wish I got that car instead
What should I be looking for in mileage? How much is too much?
I found a 2011 black mustang gt automatic
About 66k miles I might get it soon ! For about 15k ! No mods all stock besides exhaust
I just wanna thank you for this video. I am at my year mark looking for the right mustang. I have considered a brand new one only because I am lucky enough to be able to pay it in full. No loan. Bu then I found a 2014 mustang gt premium 3,000 miles and they want 24. It’s completely stock but it is a 6spd and has the track pack on it. Obviously it was never drove by the older man than has it. Still has the brand new smell inside. So thanks again I’m going to buy this car TODAY! FINALLY!!! Also has the shaker 1000 in it or whatever it’s called with this year!
Watching this video in April of 2021 currently looking at 5.0s and it blows my mind how up everything is. All these would be steals now
You ain't kidding, after seeing what the prices were last year and now, I am going to wait. Once everything starts opening again and everyone is back to work the prices should come down. Cars this guy is saying are too expensive at $18k are now $25k. No inventory right now. Thanks Jacob, you just saved me 10 grand.
LOL
Beating on it w stock clutch mite not be that bad. If the clutch is slipping a lil means the drivetrain didn’t get so pounded on
Thinking about getting a 14 manual here but man these gas prices on the west coast is ridiculous
I have a 2013 mustang gt ingot silver premium package for sale. Mileage is 56.2k and I’m asking 20k firm. It’s got a mantic clutch ( invoice to prove) carbon driveshaft built rear end. That’s just naming a few of the more costly mods. It is a FBO car tuned by Lund. All the mods I have selected have been referred to me by Alex Flores tuner for Lund. It’s on E85. Reply if anyone is interested. It will come with slicks and skinnies on weld racing s71s.
beginning of 2020"they 're coming down in value" end of 2020 they're way up in value XD
Even the old fox body’s are 10k plus
Used car market is NUTS they'll drop again but every car worth sm more 😭
bought my 135i back after being totaled. cost me 2.5k and 1k in parts. payout was 19k. best thing that ever happened to me lol
