When it comes down to it Dead Space 2 was in my eyes everything a good video game sequel should be. It advanced the story further, refined the already good gameplay of the original and added even more necromorphs and weapons to play around with!
@@just9019 no joke, the first game never only scared me once after the first 15 minutes (that being when the lanky alien was introduced). It’s just the same jumpscares being thrown at you over and over with almost no variation, which was repeated in the second game but to an even greater extent

It was great to see Jesse on this episode of Dead space 2 again. Jesse was the reason i actually picked up Deadspace 1 and two and I had a blast(pew pew) playing them. Might have to go back and watch them again cause you know Halloween coming up and all the spooky stuff. Beware of Spacebutt.
The most fun I've ever had watching someone play a game was watching my ex play through this on hardcore mode. Best part was the very end - we both thought the game was over (he hadn't played it in years) and he actually put down the controller and started to walk away before realizing it wasn't over lmao
When this game came out I was only 9 and watched my brother play it and it scared me shitless! Now as a 21yr old I've played both 1 and 2 and theyre some of my favorite games of all time. And the pew pew! was worth the difficulty
While I haven't played these games I think they'd be better off if they just weren't resurrected. Simply because EA would be in charge of it. They would most likely do their best to fill it with microtransactions.
Its easily avoidable in a game like Apex, but if they ruin a possible dead space 4 with loot boxes and other bullshit yeah. Campaign could be fine but I'd hate to see unfair advantages or useless amounts of dlc.
Probably not. EA bought out Visceral studios and shut them down shortly after dead space 3, due to 'disapointing' sales figures. EA would have to sell the IP or resurrect Visceral, which seems impossible. But hey, there isn't ZERO chance. The same thing happened to Darksiders. That studio went under some time after Darksiders 2, and then Nordic made a sequel.
I remember first playing dead space on xbox 360, i walked around with my gun permanently aimed so i was ready for whatever hellish creature tried to get me, it was so damn nerve racking and i loved every minute of it, the dead space trilogy are one of my favourite series of games, although i never beat 3 but this has given me the motivation to dust off the disc and play it in my Xbox One.
Dead Space & Alien Isolation are the only horror games that I enjoyed as much as they terrified me. I rarely finish horror games but those I’ve played multiple times.
So sad that they canned the series, I can only imagine what fun a new entry would bring even if 3 was only lukewarm. Got some good vibes from Pragmata coming to PS5 though...

Hell the ‘Reboot’ cgi cartoon from the early 90s looked better than that. I think they wanted it to look like the game but clearly didn’t have the time, budget or man power to get it anywhere close. I think I got bout 10mins into it before I turned it off. 🤣
I remember being there on twitch when you were completing DS2 this time around. God that one big room at the end was crazy hard. Still happy I could be there man. It was super chill :D

A friend of mine enjoythestruggleni has a full hd co op play through with me on his channel . It was a blast to replay on pc with the superior controls but we did it after playng through one and two together. That dead space summer of 2015 for me was one I won't forget anytime soon.

I still remember watching Spiderbite from Next Gen Tactic's Hardcore walkthrough and doing everything he said and it really helped, until he stopped doing vids after over halfway, once you get past that eye poke machine with that 1st save you feel a sense of relief that....and using the Force Gun that thing's a godsend.
Dead Space 1 & 2 are one of my favorite horror games I've played. Was disappointed with 3, but still enjoyed the game. Hopefully EA sells the rights to the franchise so we can get a 4th and final installment to the series.
I'm happy to say that not only do I have the platinum on both Dead Space 1 AND 2, but also that Hardcore Mode on the latter is one of my greatest gaming accomplishments.
I played this game to death and even got the Hand Cannon myself, but I’m disappointed Jirard didn’t mention the multiplayer. I’m not sure if it’s even still running, but it was decently fun at the time.
i tried to play the multiplayer only to be told i needed to make an ea account to access it. after making it it refused to let me sign into it so i never got to even play it
I recently beat Dead Space 1 and 2 this month and oh man it has been a while since I've played a game as good as those two. I'm so glad I got to play such masterpieces onto the 3rd!

Fun story from Dead Space 2. I was replaying the game once for the umpteenth time when I remembered an upcoming jump scare. I wasn't startled or scared by it at all. The I died a little later and was revived before the jump scare. I had completely forgotten about it an it did scare me this time. Then I remembered I had just passed it a few minutes ago with no reaction whatsoever.
Shout out to Jirard Kahlil in credits. =) Also With Dead Space 3 do a coop playthrough with Jesse at Beard bros. I never finished Dead Space 3 because I got stuck, but I didn´t hate it.
I know it's small and I have to say it too, you see Isaac's face in the first game man, only once, at the start, then it gradually rips away that personal feeling you had as Issac being human. 1st game is still the best
Dead Space is the best horror game so far. The books, the movies, and the games are all great and complete everything. How the game is made ( no hud ) is just full immersive.
Dude! Play them! You won’t regret it. There is a reason why the *worst* complaint some douchey corners of the internet have to say is DS2 is “too actiony”. 1 and 2 are honestly a couple of the best games - period - of the last generation. Do yourself a favour, and play them.

I always loved the health meter on the spine. Simple, yet so effective.
The entirely diagetic HUD is one of the best and most immersive techniques for displaying info in any game. I wish more games had stuff like that.

The only negative i've heard is that it's not as scary as Dead Space 1. but honestly it's just a better game overall and it can be scary sometimes

The dead space trilogy deserves a remaster
This is one of my favourite games of all the time. It's the perfect popcorn action horror game. Played it again recently and loved every minute of it.
Jesse plays the whole trilogy, and its all excellent. His screams of terror warm my heart.
