i dunno about you guys but that goes under the file "Greatest Comebacks in History" i dont think ive ever seen anyone comeback like that from almost no life and win if you have please put em up
This is the second video that inspired me to master parrying in 3S, the first is the TOSF Parry exhibition. I'm from one of the toughest places of competition in the world; Toronto.
i play this game competitively. I know its easier to parry after super activates. how can you parry the flash when you have no idea when your opponent is going to release it? whereas once the super activates, you tap forward once super is about to hit you. have you even successfully parried it?
Default=Arcade setting. This match took on console where the Guard Judgement is old and top 8 matches were played in arcade mode to fully simulate using Arcade. If it's higher in your area, someone's tampered with the settings.
I was absolutely like whoaaaaaa when my cousin showed me this video. See how Daigo is expecting the hit with his forward and backward moves. P.D.: Post number 300 in this vid! Go Daigo!
Listen to your arcade buddies; it's true. Due to damage-scaling (which USUALLY prevents certain moves from being chained together and racking up excessive/outrageous amounts of damage) the combo involving the fireball does ONE point less damage. However if you can connect the combo using the hadoken better, than it's still acceptable.
Chun was going super in between her poke-fakes, Daigo was looking for that. Why do i have to keep explaining? You play this game competively eh? I was AT THAT EVO! I SAW IT LIVE! I have been to NEC(NorthEast Chamionship) MWC (Midwest Championship), ECC(Eastcoast Chamionship) and placed higher than 5th in all of them, placed 7th at Evo East 2 years ago. Justin Wong asked me to be on his team for SBO but I couldnt go so Gootecks took that spot... Anymore questions?
Well in SF3 you can only choose one super at a time with the exception of Gouki/Akuma, so even if he did want to he couldn't cause he chose the one you saw daigo parry.
um, no. your correct on the turtle strategy (overly defensive, using safe moves, and boring your opponent to leave themselves open), but the opposite is called rushdown. See Alex Valle or Buktooth play for examples of those.
RaishinX lies. The tournament was in the United States which makes Daigo victory so significant. At the time Justin Wong was as close to invincible as possible.Undisputed king in Marvel vs Capcom 2(Still is)and just as good in Street Fighter. He had a streak going of something like 24 straight tournament wins.Daigo came right to America and stumped Justin at his own game.
Street Fighter Anniversary Edition (XBOX/PS2) It's a two-game package with both Hyper Street Fighter II (an amalgamation of all the Street Fighter II rehashes) and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (the game being played in the video). It should be pretty cheap.
attually, daigo is married, and it is kinda why he retired. That and he got the shit kicked out of him by Alex Valle. I think he still plays in japan, but hes not coming to evo anymore.
lol not sure if you're serious, but Turtle is, as implied, not coming out of your shell. Waiting for your opponent to attack, or only throwing out small pokes. Pitbull, or Bulldog, is the flipside, the very aggressive always-attacking type. Turtle is very patient, and usually very annoying to fight against.
nah, that moment is cool, but still, not difficult. The situation LEADING to that was PHENOMANAL, but the parry itself could have been done by someone of lesser ability. Look past the parry and see that daigo got into justins head just to make him throw out a super. Simple art of war tactic: Make your opponent feel he can strike and when he does, suprise him with a massive ambush.
Muy predecible justing Teniendo 0 vida daigo era la mas logico usar el special de chun li Pero era el riesgo de si daigo paraba todas las patadas con parry pasaria esto. Daigo lo veia venir
You'll get a lot of hate for Justin because he plays a really tight turtle style that's ugly and unfun to both watch and play against. It's just sickeningly effective.
then u couldnt have been more wrong. u dont see how ken was tapping forward between chun's moves? and its actually easier to parry before the flash. look closely when chun supered, Ken moved slightly forward, ok enough "FACTS" for u.
Dam that was a great match!!!! i watched and played Street Fighter for years and NEVER seen the parry move!!! That guy is that bomb!! Wish he used Ryu instead of Ken Ryun d man!!!
Never saw the fight after the legendary parry! Thanks for posting this!
I saw this when it dropped and I am still amazed everytime I watch it.
Watch again.
Get a life
@@tanvirpial considering you're replying to a 15 year old comment he has more of a life than you at this point.
No matter how many times I see this video. I'm always left in awe.
i went crazier than the crowd when ken made the comeback. crazy stuff
OMFG!!!
After watching that full parry....im speechless....
This shit still gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it
I actually watched it till the end, beautiful stuff, definate skill
i dunno about you guys but that goes under the file "Greatest Comebacks in History" i dont think ive ever seen anyone comeback like that from almost no life and win if you have please put em up
And still, it is
If espn had a greatest moments in video games the infamous parry comeback would probably be on it.
Justin comin through with the major combacks. wow..
I was gonna go into evo next year. I would like to know what it's like there.
looked like an amazing tournament

Wish I was there....
Great post!!
Always nice to see a good fight
Never seen street fighter look so good.
Daigo is a fighting god of street fighter 3.

i play this game competitively.

You gotta love that audience.
one question....was justin the one in the right chair or the left one???
frylockontop682 right chair. He was going ham on his fightstick during the parry.
what is the sf game ver.?
which street fighter is this?
Greatest. Parry. Ever.
I was absolutely like whoaaaaaa when my cousin showed me this video. See how Daigo is expecting the hit with his forward and backward moves.
P.D.: Post number 300 in this vid! Go Daigo!
youre from the east coast? whats your name?
ill challenge you. play me at ctf or online 2df/ggpo.
Wow. I like the techniques.
Hello there, im from the future.
I think he still does Super Battle Opera back in Japan.
best part 2:38 to 2:50 i cant beleve that ken player man such a good come back
Daigo Umehara broo
Ah yes, the famous 'Daigo moment'. I like how you uploaded the full fight rather than just the 'zomg 1337 hax skillz wtfwtf lolz'. >_>
You have asked me before about GGPO, I dont play online. And I dont think I will be at CTF anytime soon I live in Toronto.

*drool* the full battle Daigo is a one hit wonder.
これエフェクト出てからブロッキングするまでの入力猶予1Fだってよ。頭おかしいよ本当に
who win the EVO 2004 ?
One guy called K.O.
I think this same guy still plays online using the nickname "Nica K.O"
damn that was a good match
dude i do it in china town fair all the time. but the ptoblem is i kno those people so they jus laugh it off
wicked fight man
damn 16 years ago...
how can you parry before the flash*
lol When Daigo did the taunt everyone cheered.
The funny thing is that daigo didn't win which was kinda disappointing..
But I still love Justin Wong
u kno i was asking myself that same question
Momento épico gamer
U know he parried before the flash right?
o no r u gonna parry me??? :-( send a fire ball? or maybe a fire uppercut??? nooo god help me!!
while your at it, pick up playing to win by david sirlin. really changes how you view the game
one hit wonder? lol...
Daigo was already a well known sf player before this match
Hmm I'll have to remember that when I go out for EVO next year.
come by when you can and let me know.
you use urien right?
my ryu vs your urien
i just found out if u get ur ps2 chipped/modded u can play american games or wherever the games are from!!!
The name of the game is Street Fighter
Chun was going super in between her poke-fakes, Daigo was looking for that. Why do i have to keep explaining?

I understand its a viable strategy.
you just said for some reason people have a problem with it, I was saying what the problem was.
22/07/2022
Well in SF3 you can only choose one super at a time with the exception of Gouki/Akuma, so even if he did want to he couldn't cause he chose the one you saw daigo parry.
hard to tell and it may seem like it but its easier to parry after super activates.
It's Three. Probably 3rd Strike, but I could be wrong on that one.
makes me sad watching the vid seeing how much daigo has changed =[
um, no. your correct on the turtle strategy (overly defensive, using safe moves, and boring your opponent to leave themselves open), but the opposite is called rushdown. See Alex Valle or Buktooth play for examples of those.

It's the default setting.
2:36 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The parry. Oh god the parry.
I was talking about the GAME, not the tournament. I know where the tourney is held (Vegas). And I think Justin's game is more Marvel than 3s.
Street Fighter Anniversary Edition (XBOX/PS2)
It's a two-game package with both Hyper Street Fighter II (an amalgamation of all the Street Fighter II rehashes) and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (the game being played in the video). It should be pretty cheap.
some others, but i forget their names
daigo isn't the only pro ken player out there
well i didn't know how these things work..never knew money was on the line
crazy these gys are
January 2007
attually, daigo is married, and it is kinda why he retired. That and he got the shit kicked out of him by Alex Valle. I think he still plays in japan, but hes not coming to evo anymore.
Those Parry's seen in this video won't be on Street Fighter 4!
It's in Japan as well. And to GodheadsLamentX, Just isn't the one making the comeback.
Except that isn't Marvel vs. Capcom 2. It's Street Fighter 3rd Strike.
daigo should get some kind of medal.
GET HIM DAIGO!!
true
nice
Maybe Justin was expecting hadouken.Who knows..?
Classic...
yeah im talking to you.
Daigo Will go down in history as the "parry master".
lol not sure if you're serious, but Turtle is, as implied, not coming out of your shell. Waiting for your opponent to attack, or only throwing out small pokes. Pitbull, or Bulldog, is the flipside, the very aggressive always-attacking type. Turtle is very patient, and usually very annoying to fight against.
when your playing for a significant amount of money it would make sense not to be reckless...
o god here goes another youtube thug...
from the dawn of youtube.
You aint got shit on this beef man, this here is teh real beef :)
Defensive. For some reason, people have a problem with it.
I use Akuma/Ryu. I'm working on Ken but he feels a bit boring.
nah, that moment is cool, but still, not difficult.
I should have not watch this. I keep on going everytime I see feeds... and my wife is like "thats a hundred times". Hmmm yeah
Muy predecible justing
Teniendo 0 vida daigo era la mas logico usar el special de chun li
Pero era el riesgo de si daigo paraba todas las patadas con parry pasaria esto.
Daigo lo veia venir
LOL. This is so pro. They could kill me in 2 sec xDD
damn!
