- Just unearthed this footage from Evo 2004. The SDTEKKEN group competed at this event and captured a lot of action from the Tekken 5 open location test. We also recorded some of the tournament action, including this short and legendary match. It was an alternate angle from the now famous Evo Moment 37 video.

I love the first waves of "OOOHHHH" from the crowd when the parry happens, and immediately a much louder second wave of "OH SHIIIIT" when Daigo completes the parries and hits the combo.

Had he done that and simply won, we probably wouldn't have the FGC or Esports as a whole as we know it now.
This moment was responsible for reinvigorating the FGC and adding a new sense of hype to the scene.

@@BBGirlSamus yeah I think if this moment had never happened I would not have become the crazy obsessed gamer I am today.. honestly this clip was mindblowing and had a huge impact on my life and MANY others.
Gaming for me that day went from being a cool thing to do to being THE thing to do.. truly mind blowing when you really think about it and this moment still reminds me why I am a gamer still today instead of leaving it behind like many other things I have left in my life.

This can never be topped. No noise cancelling headphones, crowd right next to you. At the time 99% of people didn't think Chun Li's super was even possible to parry, which is why Justin didn't throw a fireball. Not only parried but combo'ed into a a win. Evo has many great moments but this is The Moment. Even people who know nothing about games or SF3 know something special happened even if they don't understand what that is.
Using the highest damage combo possible
I always consider this the best moment in gaming history. I still can't find anything that can top this.

@@igopsalaipo5470 not that impressive compared to this. He had complete vision on rosh and dire didnt even have wards outside pit, he wasn't even smoked. Anyone with half a brain would echo if he sees 5 people inside rosh pit. But no one can do this parry while in a crowd of this many people.

theres no rage. he might be slightly frustrated, as all he was doing was sitting back, building meter and doing low forwards into super.

from what I read Daigo actually did his parry before on someone in casuals, and that guy who was trying to warn Justin saw the result. He knew that Justin would be fucked if he'd try the super.
@@TheRoleplayer40k just a lil bit. He still has PTSD. In an interview they were reshowing the moment cuz some people didn't see it. When Justin heard that, he looked real nervous and anxious. Then he told them "Enjoy moment 37 guys. I'm the Ken." And alot of people laughed.

It's funny, if you want to game the rating system in SF3, you just need a lot of hit confirms.
@@skunch as far as i know, the grade wasn't only about hit confirms but also how good the player is on defenses, such as throw tech or parry. And about attacking, you should be effective on it. Every miss hit will be affecting the grade too. I try it on mame, using the cheat (dry out the 2nd player health and activate the auto parry), 1st player will parry everything and with just two punch ended the match. Got SS+
He also had little health and lost one round.
SF3 has a weird grade system. Ive gotten MSF ranks before for playing normally yet perfecting people.

Me and my friends got really into street fighter 4 when it came out, and when researching fighting games and how to play them we came across this moment. Never looked back lol
I play sf4 fr0m 2010.when i found this vide0.i change t0 play 3s
Fighting games in this time period was in a drought. The only people that were into the fighting scene were the veterans from the 90's, there wasn't much in the way of newcomers. It was a nice little time period though because those that were into the genre back then got into it for its technically not for simplicity like games such as SFIV offered. In a way, it felt real.

Why does this clip make you think he was angry? I think it would be more conducive to be calm and composed to perform like this. I’ve always thought of Tokido as more of an aggressive player compared to Daigo who I always thought embodied Ryu’s level headedness. I’m sure Daigo has talked about this moment many times. I haven’t heard or read anything about it so perhaps he was angry, I don’t know.

Going in for that final super from across the screen to chip him out was the correct play, parrying that monster of a super with a jump in the middle is not something anyone should have seen coming. And yet, now, it's all anyone will ever see coming again XD
