i'll never understand why capcom didn't keep street fighter similar to 3rd strike. it's by far the best fighting game they have ever made. i understand wanting to make things a little simpler to try hook a new crowd. but no one ever said they had to make their "3rd strike-ish" sf the mainline series. ever since megaman 11 came out i've been wanting a return to the old days for sf. either a continuation of 3rd strike or the alpha series with beautiful pixel art and a completely unforgiving but satisfying gameplay as a parallel to the mainline series for all those folks on fightcade or 30th that just can't get into the newer titles. imagine having your mainline series which is toned down for everyone to enjoy, and a modern lower budget pixel art sf in the vein of their older titles like alpha 2 and 3 or 3rd strike for it's long time, more hard core fans. it'd be a perfect recipe that i genuinely think would keep everyone happy instead of having to choose between old fans and potential new ones. competitive gamers don't care about visuals to a point, fancy new gen graphics are secondary to gameplay every time. not even considering a pretty big portion of sf fans actually preferred the older style over the 2.5D graphics in 4 and 5. get on it capcom! your leaving money on the table for sure!
I feel the same about Streets of Rage 4 forexample. Alltho it was a great game for sure, but it could just as easily have been pixelart taken to the next level, like most people really wantedm judging from the comments! Look at the latest TMNT game forexample! Let's pray to the gods they'll hear us!
