  • Learn how to create your first row of single crochet without the chain with this chainless foundation single crochet tutorial.
No more long unruly chains or wonky ends of a finished project - the foundation single crochet will be your new best friend.
In this tutorial, I work through 10 foundation single crochet with you slowly, explaining the stitch anatomy, why we are doing what we are doing and what might go wrong (so you can avoid it). I also show you how easy it is to begin working your next row.
If you'd like a picture tutorial with written step by step instructions, you can find one on my blog here: www.theloophol...
Thank you for stopping by! Happy Crocheting. :)

Absolutely LOVE your tutorial. It's very rare to find tutorials this good!
1- I love that your camera quality is great, it makes it easy to actually tell what you're doing.
2- You speak calmly at a steadily, "breathing rate" so that's very easily to follow
3- I love that you're wearing dark nail polish against a light-colored yarn, this makes it very easy to follow the finger/yarn movements
4- The fact that you hold your work up close to the camera so that it essentially takes up a large chunk of the view, that is invaluable since there's no need of squinting
5- Showing what a mistake "looks like" is so incredibly valuable! It's like finding a needle in a haystack when it comes to tutorial videos, because few understand that as a learner we make mistakes so when we do we have no idea what it looks like unless we're shown.
    Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you! Very clear tutorial. I especially like how you point out the structure of the stitches. This is the area I struggle the most as a beginner. I finally have the confidence to give this a try!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad you found this tutorial helpful. The structure of stitches is one of the things that is so important but easily overlooked - I struggled with it myself as a beginner! I am honored that my tutorial helped you feel confident to try foundation stitches. Thank you for sharing!
