This is amazing! Tried doing this with an explanation and pictures but couldn’t get it, watching you do it and doing it along with you I have succeeded. Thank you!
I’m trying to learn fhdc using Caron Simply Soft and just about tearing my hair out with the splitting 😂😂 but your instructions are perfect, as always 😁 I’m still working on making that chain the same size as the sts on the other end… those sts really need to be pulled down 😆
I agree, I actually prefer creating my chain first. The only time I will use the chainless foundation is if I’m making a larger project and I’m not sure how long I want it to be. Like for a blanket. Let’s say I make a really long chain and then I crochet my first row and then I don’t like the width, that’s the only time I feel like it’s necessary
Your video on the Foundation Crochet are the clearest I’ve seen. Thank you.

Brilliant explanation. Just what I needed. You really are a star. 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you so much! I’m so glad it helped 💕

If pattern calls for the double crochet to start 3rd chain from hook how would I do that with this method? Or does it matter?
how do you count stitches for fsc, fhdc and fdc? Do you count the turning chain as the first sticth for fhdc and fdc? How about fsc?
I hope I know this earlier before I made those syall 😭
What if you pattern calls for your first row to alternate single and double crochet stitches? How do I do that with a chain less foundation?
Hmm I’m actually not sure. I’m not sure you’d be able to do that but you might want to do some googling to see if you can find out!
I understand the concept but it looks complicated. I will stick with the chain. TFS
