I think rimworld were hesitant do this because the more they do this kind of stuff, the more it will become like Dwarf Fortress. Soo no specialty from Rimworld. What's next? They did religion thing, so probably next they will make some bar/restaurant and inn? Like in dwarf fortress. No need hospitality mod anymore 😅
@theeyeballthatcameoutofthe5268 I try to go as vanilla as possible because every additional mod is a possible headache/tps-drop. So mostly just a couple of QoL mods and Vanilla Expanded with a few other mods.
@@AnexploderDoes make me laugh though, where they said in the patch notes that the new doors are only just coming now, because 2x1 doors were difficult to get working.. As if there hasn't been a door mod since the beta versions of the game, that even now has 3x1 doors, and even 5x1 remote control garage doors in the vehicle mod. So not sure what that little note is about. Glad something was added for them though.
I mean there are requirements for some of those doors that straight up block other mods so...if imagine there would be difficulty in getting it base game...

That mod has been with me since almost the very beginning and after the first time I ran with it, I never had a game without it. I will miss it, but its spirit lives on in the 1.5 patch :)
you got a whoopsie here honey, because if something is added to the game it means the initial load will be longer, no matter it's a mod or core element.
I'm kinda happy that Ludeon Studios work some of these smart fixes into the base game. I know some people think it is easy mode, but I wish more producers did the same. Yeah, so modders spent time on this, but sometimes these quality of life mods are too good to pass up for integration into the base game. It's not like it's even that hard really and we all appreciate the load order reducing. I like the lovecraft/the thing/cabin in the woods stuff that is coming, it looks a tiny bit like V.O.I.D. but perhaps not as crushingly apocalyptic. Looking forward to worshipping a cube of gold soon.
Yeah dlc definitely great because there's always a few issues before... Aliens had issues with certain species or Lovecraft cosmic horror being seen gening a error... It's great to see it integrated as it seems like the following mods to improve are far easier and better integrated because off the dlc.
I don't get why people get mad for devs realizing someone has a great idea and want to bring it to everyone else. They made the game, the mod wouldn't exist without the game to inspire it's existence and run it.

You know what’s crazy - I just got back into Rimworld after a few years starting with 1.5. I can’t imagine life without these QOL. Shoutout Modders who made these before the update.
I like that when Mr. Sylvester sees a popular mod that is a basic quality of life mod, he takes the mod, often improves it and then adds it into the game without just directly copying it. Like better Shelves, children, mechs, wall lights. Those were all just mods at one point.
Haven't played 1.5 Unstable but the books look like a good way to avoid writing off whole fields of cotton, smokeleaf, trees, an arena of captured wild animals in order to train a pawn to a serviceable level. The game won't just give that to you to be fair, but it's nice to have the option to work towards.
*I hope nobody starts complainin about the devs adding QoL stuff.* Do you WANT them to become like Minecraft??? Also, yeah, theyre implementin mods into the base game.... why Its that bad? The "Allow all" was an mod too... now everyone Its happy Its in the base game, so...
I loved the wall lights mod and I’m glad it’s going to be vanilla now, and so many of the new features are genuinely useful features that everyone wanted and I’m excited for it
I guess it makes sense to have a research room with a chess table, a small table for reading, chairs, plenty of light, and a book shelf. I like it when in-game items always serve a purpose and make sense to place in an area that would make sense realistically.

Absolutely! Base game QOL especially helps with console gaming and multiple PCs. Plus (hopefully) they will make the whole game more user-friendly for new players.
Crawling is a big game changer n ima happy to hear it actually made it to the update bc 5-8years ago alot of people were wondering why not crawl n most people were like nah bc that doesn't make since ima like what?!! What about kenshi, cod or any other games can even in real life like wtf but yea ima glad that it's here n can't wait to play ❤
Some of the subtle unmentioned things that I'm into: +Improved construction hauling - SO yes, it's an extreme chore to do this optimally, clicking walls one-by-one and re-carrying wood each time. Many people will just ignore it, but it's still a medium to large time loss depending on how things are bungled. Looks like firefighting gets a similar treatment as well, any lessening of colonists killing themselves there is good to see. Still wish we could get something like this for tree cutting/harvesting/farming, its really hamfisted in similar ways that building was, so many unnecessary trips without tons of micromanagement, come on, Tynan please, give the green-thumbs some love. +Tending to non-hostile factions improves goodwill - Love this, it's realistic, and if you're going to tend them anyway, this is a good bonus you'll always get. Good way to help boost relations with more troublesome but not currently enemy factions, which has always been hard to do.
having enemies crawling away from a failed raid will add so much to my barbarian colony; we shall make them as examples and let them crawl back to dirt holes they came from
Plus the ability to search the map for items. No longer will you need to scan through your stockpiles for weapons or try to find where your pawn dropped theirs when they were downed.
This new stuff is wild, and the addition of several mods into base game is amazing. Wall lights, couches, hidden conduits, Now i just need my ceiling windows/skylights in and thats like, 5-6 mods off of my list so i can focus on stuff that matters...factories! Of course we all know the true endgame that's coming with this update....finding out which mods this bricks again, and sorting through them for the seven hundredth time! The horror aspects of the expansion look amazing too.
I had to search to figure out how to get the unstable version. But it was worth it! Now off to play it "without mods"! (ok, so the DLC's obviously. filth vanishing with rain, and animal prostechics are a must, and also 1.5 compatible).

Crawling will save so much pawns THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE DIED, it would be a little scary but cool if enemies when on a safe spot, tend their own wounds or a enemy with the highest medical skill tend to the most injured And clean room?, i reached heaven with that one

They actually change it to let you tweak vanilla wall lamps in some ways!

Personally I do like it when mods become vanilla features as it means less mods to enable and less time to load the game.

I have 1.2 gigs of mods. Naturally, this causes the game to consume 15gb ram.
Mine usually settles around 20-22gb when my colony really gets going.
Mr Stream? Building firefoam poppers in the first place? Icewolf has a better chances of surviving any given episode.
Even having nine lives isn't enough to save Icewolf.

This update was well worth resetting the mod list for. Vanilla feels 10x better now
