Oh, I remember back in the late '90's an Escort specialist in Perth had a bunch of red top (I think that was the he N/A motor) and a few blue tops (factory turbo motor) and he was asking drug money for them back THEN!!! I could only imagine what they are worth NOW

Funnily enough, I had a mate who had a Mark 2 panel van with an older Cozzie motor (it looked very close to the factory 2L motor to me, so I'm not really sure)- it was a quick little thing for a carb fed, SOHC 2L... I've always had mates who were into Escorts... The mate who took me to the Escort specialist in Perth years ago shoe horned a factory 2L into his Mark 1 2 door. He had to cut the rad support to make it fit! Boy it was a fun little car.... Oh ya bud, sounds like you've been around even longer than I have... 👍

Honestly I'd be more keen to see that evo take the start line at Pike Peak. Put that power and gearbox to proper use ;)
Unfortunately as the car reaches higher altitude, aero dynamics is affected and downforce becomes useless, there is a high powered evo that takes the pikes peak track if you haven't seen the video yet. Driver survived to tell his story.

It was pretty crazy, huh...
Evo is mental. Gonna open the salt mine but. In the opening clip the dude is obviously worried about keeping it straight, taking the hand off the shifter every change, why not fit paddle shifts? Wouldn't be much more dollars than what's spent. Be a good investment, that thing goes down the track like a trolley across a Bunnings carpark!

This is all my OPINION. From what I have seen in the video of the first car, the EVO, needs better launch control. If you can trap almost 180mph and your best 60 is a .160 with AWD, something is amiss. It seems he is a bit of a short shifter and the car bogs super hard off the line. Again, this is what I see from the little amount of info I have. Even with a stroker kit, that motor can still be happy over 9Krpm. Nice vid, I always love to see what the Aussie madmen are doing.

Do they make a slipper clutch set ups for theese evo's? I reckon they'd making launching these awd cars loads easier
Slipper clutches are all these cars use. No way to launch them without it.

2litre stock block (4g63)
Forged pistons, rods, cams, springs, retainers, arp studs
Will be running garrett g30-770 turbo
What is the max hp i can run with this setup assuming the engine can handle it.
700hp to the wheels?
