I still would take the GTHO Phase 3 over all of them
I would agree for value or worth but I’d also love a ht Monaro and a e49 charger for the whole set
I'd prefer the E-49 for being the fastest accelerating aussie production car for 25 years. They all have their good sides.
The best aussie sedan was the magna espresso the (2003 TL VR-X) its only a shame that the awd version didnt have a manual option
The XT and XR GT Ford was the quickest GT BY 4 km with the 289
Jokes on you I have an XR6T in north America 🫡
jokes on you why would u bother to import that to america with their laws on imports? in fact from my understanding u cant even register and drive that over there for another 10 years or something.

I am a Holden man , but , the one exception is the XR , All Holdens are the bees knees , and Chrysler , the motors , G'Day CHARGER , Toranas are awesome , XU1 LJ mad , 308 A9X , they went buds , most had Ford 9inch diffs put in them , but L S D , are not yah average Gripper , they unbreakable, still non of them come near my Ducati in a rolling start , hehe ,
And , You started with my favourite Ford , the only one I'd happily own , but that same year Holden released the H R X2 Premier, 500 of em the least to make it production class car to race at Barhurst , had a 186s motor , a shit 4 speed box , that got piffed and in with the All Australian Box , A 9" diff , bore the engine to 191 , had a Taco , so they could match the V8 fords , why Toranas were made , but I recon a pristine X2 would be Australias most expensive car , I love that car more , than the Ford, it's so perfectly balanced lowered a bit , and fkn fly too , fun , my old boss took it one day , NO chrome wheels only Gun metal grey , note from Heaven , so my boss sees the keys on the hook in office , get back that night , and he looks up at us as we walk in , and looked at me and said , Hey , that thing of yours out there , goes like fkn Daniel in them first few gears , jeasus , you should have mentioned this iconic car , and it's place In History

The torque measurement spec reads as foot pounds not pound feet.
I would imagine that the A9X Torana would be as good if not better than any car on this list.
It says fastest, not best- something that can be accurately measured on the track, not someone's opinion.
On the track, not from the showroom.

Xr gt was not 15.8 on the quarter it was lucky to get a high 16 with a hurricane behind it. The phase 1 out accelerated the phase 3 until about 90 mph it had the best throttle response of all the muscle cars in australia. Similar to the 6 cylinder charger that was a beast. All aussie muscle cars are beautiful. The newer cars are not muscle cars they are beyond boring
You’re wrong on the xr gt. I Have one and will do a 15 no prob. Had an xw stock 302 with a 4 Barrel and it ran low 15s at earthen creek. About same hp.
You forgot the return of the Holden Monaro in November 2001.
In terms of asthetics, that version of the monaro did those before it a great disservice.

what abt the holy grail XR8 Sprint with 483kw ( 647hp ) and 753nm ( 555lb ft) of torque, and what abt the over-boost feature on both the F6 and the R spec which gave it a boost in performance. and also the Ford TS50 with its 250KW ( 335hp ) 5.6L stroker Windsor V8 was technically the most powerful production Windsor V8 Motor, other than the 351 Cleveland which " claimed to have 300 Hp" but had more....
the holy grail is an aftermarket thing from a mechanic in melbourne???? the AU falcon is only the ugliest falcon ever and was universally hated.
@@ROTAR666 I know that the holy grail is aftermarket kit, but the Walkinshaw was an upgrade kit by Walkinshaw which means it wasnt a production car just like the Holy grail XR8 Sprint.. and also, you cant spell Beautiful without AU... many ppl love the AU and many ppl hate it... its an opinion

The xr gt is sexy 👌🏽
No mention of any Toranas? Obviously not an Aussie video about Aussie cars.
What about the force 7 ?

When the HG 350 monaro came out I worked in a large Holden dealership. We had 2 priests who owned them, I couldn't believe priests owned these two.

What a gorgeous colour that last one was. Forget the livery, just the base. Kinda purple / bronzey / reddish kinda mix. I'm sure I'm wrong. Probably a bakers dozen combination. You left out the XW GT-HO Phase 2 that had the 351 Cleveland and there was a Falcon XA GT-HO Phase 4 but only an example was built because of the media uproar over the performance of these high performance sedans being unleashed to the public and the Federal Government was going to threaten the Australian Ford motor company not to buy any of their products if they didn’t stop the production of them
They actually made 4 complete gtho phase 4's, with 3 of them destroyed in races, the other one belongs to a guy in Melbourne I believe. All the remaining surplus parts they put into other XA's, labelled as RPO 83 or 84, or some similar number. I know they were RPO's.
