The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I loved this band. Eve Graham could have been Judith Durham's long lost younger sister. They both had voices like angels. Thank you.

Eve Graham was born earlier than Judith Durham so she would be Judith's older sister.

First heard this song on a Cliff Richard Saturday night show back in 1971 and it’s still my favourite by TNS….followed very closely by .when There’s No Love Left also featuring Eve on lead vocals. Their harmonies are exquisite…of course

The 2nd of 3 straight singles the New Seekers released that were written by Melanie (we recently enjoyed the first one on this channel). While not as successful as the prior single, it still made the Billboard Hot 100 chart and also peaked at #11 on the AC chart. Gorgeous.

I do remember seeing Melanie singing 'Brand New Key' on Top of the Pops back then. But I was too young to realise what a songwriter even was back then.

I always liked Harvey Kietel in "Fingers" playing "Angel of the Morning" on his boom-box. He refuses to turn down the volume after walking into the Pizza joint. Classic.

Magnificent early clip of this lineup of the group. The picture quality is wonderful. And Lyn looks so young here.

The type of song we need to remind us that not all of today's folks are as bad as these times seem to suggest.
