The only thing different from Chef Jean-Pierre's video of over 20 year's plus from today is the colour of his hair. Entertaining, educational and adorable. It just shows his genuine sweet personality. Respect him even more!
I’ve learned so much from him and really enjoy cooking. “it’s easy, it’s cooking, it’s not rocket science!” If you’re not having fun you’re doing it wrong!
OMG...he hasn't changed a bit. Maybe aged a little, but he is still our animated Chef Jean-Pierre with a ton of great advice. I wished I had met him when we were both younger! Thanks for the video
In nearly 30 years cooking, nobody has taught me so much or inspired me to cook more than this man. And I only discovered him about two years ago. Not only a brilliant chef and teacher, but a wonderful human being ❤
I LOVE CHEF JEAN PIERRE! I found his youtube channel about 3 years ago, and my home cooking has been taken to an entirely new level since. The basic techniques I learned, the when and why's of cooking apply across every type of cooking, and makes all of the difference in the world. He is my all time favorite TV personality.
Me too, of all the cook books I have, and all the chefs I have watched on TV and online, in 30 years of cooking I have learned more from this man in the past two years than all the other years combined. He really is one of a kind.
So much fun to see his younger self cook! He's doing some things here that he would never do now. Like cutting the shallots not only with the fibers but horizontally thru them before chopping and pouring olive oil with the butter thinking it will keep the butter from burning😂 i've learned so so much from this guy he's amazing and so much fun to watch
I know most comments are about Chef JP, and that is why I stopped by as well, great to see the young man! But I also wanted to give you props on the music. It is playful and fun, just like Chef! Very fitting, cheers!
Thank you very much! Much appreciated. It’s always a challenge to find the musical identity of a show, but CJP’s big, fun personality laid the blueprint for every note.
I didn't know he was ever so young, LOL. I love his newer shows, never miss one even if I'm not interested, perhaps he will convince me. I fill a freezer back with all my seafood shells, even cooked lobster shells, Mussels and what ever shell fish. They will keep for 17 years in th3e freezer.
Thank you so much for posting this! What a treat to see young Chef JP - the same handsome, happy, enthusiastic man teaching us everything we need to know! Love him even more! Hello there Friend!
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this and your story of being a part of his pbs show! I had no idea 🥰👍 I really appreciated your info in the description.
You are so welcome! It's wonderful to see CJP still teaching how to cook amazing meals while entertaining people with his larger than life personality, and I'm thrilled you were able to enjoy this little bit of history. CJP is a true culinary master and treasure trove of cooking knowledge.
...thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!!! Been a fan of his channel for a few years. This was so nice to see! The only thing that has changed about him is the color of his hair. The energy, the love for cooking, sharing recipes etc. still remains! My favorite Chef on TH-cam, my favorite Chef, PERIOD!!!
I was introduced to him in his later form with the gray hair and it’s funny seeing him this young with the same voice. As always very illustrative and entertaining at the same time.
Wow, wow....... wow! Thank you SOOOO much for this video! I knew he had a restaurant in south Florida from his current (2024) youtube references but I had no idea he had this storied a career. Thank you for helping him with awesome music. He is precisely the same effervescent fellow then that he is today. Silver fox now, gorgeous flowing locks then are about the only difference I can tell. He is indeed a force of nature and indefatigably positive! Dat boy can COOK! Peaceful Skies
This man is a genius at teaching cuisine!! Wow! My first time watching, seen 2 Sunshine Cuisine videos so far, and I've learned TONS about cooking - and food!! You can tell he loves what he does! That love of cuisine shines through!! What a great teacher!!! Two thumbs up!! 👏👏👏👍👍
I always thought his charming forgetfulness was due to age, but it's hilarious seeing him doing the same exact thing in his younger years. Guy is a legend and a gift to aspiring cooks! This is a great little time capsule.
OMG, this is so funny.I watch this guy's TH-cam channel. He is much much older now.But I can still tell it to him same voice and personality he's awesome
I’ll be perfectly honest with everyone, I can’t stand celebrity chefs or cooking shows. But Chef Jean Pierre is the exception to my rule. His approach to cooking is different. It’s educational and entertaining but best of all there’s no ego trip with him. I watch as many of Chefs videos as I can. Thank you Chef for all your videos 👍
Except at 6:10 (I think he was discouraged from saying "onyo" by the producers of this series because not many people knew the French/ New Orleans pronunciation of onion 🧅 back then).
No one has ever taught cooking in such a wholesome way, and he's still at it. The man is a national treasure even though he's not strictly from this nation (USA) :)
I absolutely love this man. I've learned so much from him in recent years. I haven't seen him in the beginning. He's exactly the same which says so much or his character. ❤❤❤
I just got this video I've never seen it before, and what a handsome man he does speak the truth he has it from his heart- to this very day ❤❤❤😊🥂🍽🍽🍽!!!
So great to see him in his younger days, he hasn't changed in all those years. He tried to always say onion in those days but would sometimes forget and say it like he does now -- oniyo. Chef Jean Pierre is the greatest of all time! 🙂
DAMN he was (is!) handsome! He still has the same mannerisms, even today. What a charismatic man. Wish his cooking 101 DVD/recipe set was easier to find!
Right? It's the timbales in there that does it. Back then, Miami Sound Machine was truly the embodiment of the "sound of Miami" and broke the Miami sound of that era all over the world, so I can totally see that. Gloria's husband Emilio was a fixture on the Miami arts scene and it's kind of one of those things where he was influenced by the local culture that, he in turn, influenced back to the popular culture of the day. Miami Vice, of course, and the overall vibrancy of the look they gave the city on that show was tremendously influential in how every production coming out of South Florida was shot as well.
The only thing different from Chef Jean-Pierre's video of over 20 year's plus from today is the colour of his hair. Entertaining, educational and adorable. It just shows his genuine sweet personality. Respect him even more!
His personality reminds me of my late grandpa, I’d love to share a few glasses of wine with Chef JP some day. Easily my favorite chef ever!
He's awesome, and his channel is great
I’ve learned so much from him and really enjoy cooking. “it’s easy, it’s cooking, it’s not rocket science!” If you’re not having fun you’re doing it wrong!
Not just that. He was also a ding dong who cut onio horizontally himself. Lol!
Legend!
Still watching Chef JP in 2024
30 years later and he still cant say pronounce onion properly.... lol
ditto
@@ChickenDeranged He says it properly…we’re all saying it wrong.
@@DougZbikowski ha ha true...
WELL HELLO THERE FRIENDS !!!
There, now I'll watch it.
Somebody had to say it 😂
It’s actually “f-wends”
Oh yess, now that chef right there 😄
Chef JP is genuinely one of my favourite people ever. Theres something very special about him.
Larger than life personality, that’s for sure. You’ll never see him frown.
Chef Jean- Pierre hasn’t changed:
Passionate, Handsome, Dedicated!
😂❤
He has only improved with age! He is fine wine!
🤣🤣🤣
Thanks to onyo and budder
Maybe a little wider, but some might say that's an improvement. 😋
Same devilish sparkle in the eye, same enthusiasm, same hilarious Jean-Pierre play by play as he cooks. YES!
I can’t believe my eyes, it’s true, he was young!
If anything, CJP shows that the years may pass but the fire can still burn bright.
This is weird & trippy to watch because of that very reason.
The magic of film. ❤
@@bahhumbug9824 I know right! All of his mannerisms and little quirks are the same. I was rolling when he snuck the extra butter into the dish.
@@Andinus3000 That's because butter makes everything butter!
*_"Butter, makes everything butter because even a CHILD could do this!"_* 🤣🤣🤣
💯🤘🤣🤘
Looks different but sounds 100% the same... and he's still forgetting stuff. I love this chef...hello there friend.
Wow I've never seen the young chef. I've only known him from the last decade or so on youtube. Amazing!
So good!
oddly enough its him
@@cameronpickard7456 It definitely is!
I don't know why I wasn't expecting him to be the exact same person he is today. Undeniably Jean Pierre.
But nowerdays he cuts the onion different ☝🏻
And he does'nt need a tv show anymore! Now he has you tube 😅
This just cracked me up. It like a young person doing an impression of him today. Got to love him.
One passionate chef ❤❤
And funny too 😂😂
Man.... love this guy. He actually hasn't changed much. Little bigger, lot more grey, but so am I.
OMG...he hasn't changed a bit. Maybe aged a little, but he is still our animated Chef Jean-Pierre with a ton of great advice. I wished I had met him when we were both younger! Thanks for the video
You're very welcome!
I completely agree.
SAME ENERGY after all these years 😂 this is glorious!
oh my God! the voice and the mannerisms didn't change in all these years! chef jean-pierre is the best
In nearly 30 years cooking, nobody has taught me so much or inspired me to cook more than this man. And I only discovered him about two years ago. Not only a brilliant chef and teacher, but a wonderful human being ❤
After all the years JP’s voice, mannerisms, eye rolls, and exuberant FUN are identical;. What fun to watch
He hasn't aged a day over 17 years. :)
And he said "onion" instead of "onyo"!
6:08 He slips in an "onyo!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh, gosh! He's always been wonderful.
Gawd, that decor is SO Florida. lol
Viva la Golden Girls!
It's 2024. Chef JP is grayed out and put on a few pounds, but he' is still banging out the videos. Love ya', Chef!

I’ve been watching the last six months… just wonderful! I even made butter! 😊
I keep clarified butter in the fridge all the time now, thanks to chef JP.
We get our shrimp from the docks in Tampa… I love them more than lobster.
If I just listened to the audio he hasn't changed 1%. He looks different but sounds and acts exactly the same today.
You can freeze it for 17 years…. Hence JP is using the broth he made with these shells in his latest video! 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
A child can do this !
ahahahaha 😂
The Maestro long before his rise to fame on TH-cam. What a treat!!!
This is AMAZING!!! Love chef!! Even a child could do it
Mama Mia, There's my Favorite Chef, handsome as ever.. ❤
This is very likely the only video that will ever end up in both my "Music Production" and "Cooking" TH-cam playlists lol
I had that same thought!😂 Thank you algorithm overlords!

So true!
... and scraping his knife along the board to move the chopped tomatoes. I can just hear him saying, ""Never scrape your knife along the board." ☺
And he’s using white pepper! He doesn’t like white pepper now! Loved it!
Did high heat cooking oils not really exist widely yet? I don't think anyone was using avocado oil back then.
@@pyroseed13 it was available but not widely used as far as i know. But it might've been hard to get in the us back then i don't really know
"Alaska, Nebraska, Detroit..." Classic Jean-Pierre. I hope you have more episodes to share with us!
It's amazing to me to see nearly the exact same format here as he currently does on his TH-cam channel. If it's not broken, don't try to fix it.
This is so cool, seeing such a young Jean-Pierre. The music is a lot of fun too.
Thank you! I love that he still has that same fire and energy today.
His youtube channel is wonderful and Cheeky Jack, his production crew does a great job

"Shrimp Vein" is the nice culinary word for "Poop shoot"
The chute for the poop... 😂
The colors in the kitchen dates this…. Funny stuff! Chef JP hasn’t changed a bit other than hair color… mine has changed too. I love this guy!
