They probably kept it this way to save money, because instead of buying a second truffle oil for example they would've just had him use the bottle they already had. I do agree though I loved to see that too!
@@Baileybailey3845 boiling chicken is how you make chicken stock. Those who know how to make stock are definitely used to it. It makes total sense to combine the step of cooking the chicken with making/fortifying the stock. That being said, it's not the most obvious thing to figure out either
@@gcruzatto2 That's not even comparable. You're making stock with the intent of extracting the flavor out of the chicken, not to cook the chicken as the main protein of a dish.
I would love to see Chris recreate a basic midwestern recipe. Maybe a Tater Tot Hot Dish or Tuna Noodle Casserole. Cream of "something" is a must. I feel like it would be so out of his wheelhouse.
While it was obviously wrong, I'm intrigued by the batter topper on the first attempt. Now I'm thinking about doing that with a yorkshire pudding batter.
by far this is my favorite EP of RE. Puff pastry is enigmatic, loved the doubly draped pastry Though I do feel the bottom layer of double puff could be slitted to let the dome rise higher
It’s very common among chefs! Pastry making isn’t a skill that everyone has in the kitchen. Also very common to use store bought pasta because you can’t achieve an al dente (slightly firm) texture with fresh.
@@quitefranklyjosh If you do not know how to make puff pastry you shouldn't call yourself a chef, definitely in Europe. It's not hard. It's just time consuming.
Agree that the intro needs updating, but the music should stay, it's epic! The verbiage should reflect Chris' training and experience and have fun with his super powers of taste and smell.
This is the best thing on Bon Appetite
This is the only part of BA I watch anymore
I thought this channel was dead after everyone who mattered quit a few years ago.
Agreed this and I used to love the makes gourmet
Too bad it's only once a month.
Clare still does them on her own channel
I feel chris needs to get more respect for the fact he is able to "kinda" hit it every time. Also by the people live reviewing!
That’s the show bud. They respect his ability to do this, it’s the whole point of the show.
The only reason I'm here is Chris! Thanks Chris!
@@rarephoenix So true! Have a great one!
When will Chris go shopping again?
That was part of the fun
Most likely they have everything already there plus a few more things that he might say. So filming time is shorter
Surfing the shopping cart!

That makes sense. I wonder if Chris misses it.

Ayo seriously no shade to any previous host, but that dude should seriously host every episode. Mega genuine and authentic
When Chris said "Szewczyk" it sounded like "Chef-check", which is just the perfect name for a judge on this show.
That must be a cheap summer truffle to not have any taste lol
I can only wonder if the taste got cooked out of it during the baking / soup process
all summer truffles taste mild compared to winter truffle
My guess is pie was sitting out for a while before Chris got to try it, so truffle aroma was gone.
Big price, little flavor 🤑
@@mrvalski summer truffle is cheap.
Give Chris one of his own recipes
OMG. That would be great!!
Please never stop making these!
“dutch baby pie… that’s weird let’s not call it that” 😂
how could you expect him to know to boil the chicken in stock 😭 that’s insane to me
the shreddiness of the chicken might suggest boiling but the rest is impossible to know

By basic, do you mean mediocre?
Me screaming at him to eat the truffle he just picked off the pastry
This is insane! Wow!! I’m impressed & inspired, thanks for this. This was fun.
I love these! Please never stop making them - they are too few and far between! Loved the sound effects, too. Definitely made it funnier. 😂
My favorite cooking show on YT!
Living for the truffle shade.
We need more Morocco madness!
17:40 yes, because there is no truffles used for the oil just synthetic aroma.

Yes, I'd rather have white wine than truffle in my pot pie any day!
LOVE THIS SERIES CHRIS ❤❤❤❤❤
This was my first chicken pot pie recipe!!! A bunch of years later I’m still doing my personal riff on it.
I feel psychic, I was just thinking today that I wanted another of these. :3

Outstanding effort Chris! You have a superpower....probably several.
plsss a british recipe by mary berry or delia smith
"It's like a thin shaving of truffle but it has no apparent flavor." mmhummm.
Cheap summertruffle.
My only shock is that Wolfgang Puck uses pre-made puff pastry😅
He makes it accessible cooking for us "regular" people

Don't put down Dutch Baby Pie my dude. Dutch babies are just so much more delicious than regular babies.
So much juicier
More tender!
Maybe Comedian Josh Johnson would like THIS Chicken Pot Pie lol!
It's here!! Finally!!!
Well I learned Truffle is overrated xD, my wallet thfx you for that.
very cool series. Chris is cool
I love these episodes
I love these videos but I think we need a new intro. Are we really having a super secret conversation about Chris Morocco?
Agreed. It’s both tired in its attitude and doesn’t seem to have taken in that the place has changed so much since, well, what happened.

I like to watch these videos with just sound to see if I can recreate the dishes as well.
For this kind of dish I'd reach for my pickled pearl onions.
It's not a pie if it's not encased in pastry. That's a casserole with a pastry lid.
truffle shaving music is so on point

i want to be 55 and still watching this series. im 24
Great job Chris! I would like your version better. No truffle oil for me
Omg didnt realize Jessie worked at BA now. I remember when he was at Tasty
Yorkshire pudding pot pie sounds wonderful
Jesse may have one of the most letters in a last name with only one vowel that I know of 😮
CHICKEN POT CHICKEN POT CHICKEN POT PIIEEEEEEE!
Hi cousin Donny!
no bottom crust is sacrilege.

It's how it's done these days
Fine by me
Not for me. I want more filling than pastry plus many cannot make a bottom without it being soggy.

I rewatched the part where he fake shaved the truffle a couple of times not gonna lie😂
Chris is the total master.
Bring back the Test Kitchen
Other than the too crispy pastry (add back in the venting), I think I would go with the Chris Morocco recipe over Wolfgang's any day.
Soz but I hate black pepper and LOVE white pepper...
I would order Chris’s pot pie if I had the choice.

They finally did away with their DEI program I see.
So glad it's super-secret. It might be boring if, say, thousands of people watched it.
Further confirmation that truffles are not worth the price!

If Chris would have double or tripled the puff pastry he should have gotten a 95. He was that close.
Maybe some live black birds are going to fly out of it 😂
Has he ever recreated one of his own dishes?
I miss the days when he goes out shopping for the ingredients
why do we still pretend this conversation is super secret??
