I was really surprised with how clean this turned out. I didn't expect it to look so good honestly. Would be really cool to see a way to make it not take up the cigarette lighter though for sure.
Cut the cigarette lighter plug off add an inline fuse and wire it to the cables at the back of the cars cigarette lighter, it would be discreet you still have full use of the cars cigarette lighter port and no more big red light blinding you.
Yeah the cigarette lighter power is the one thing that would stop me. I prefer a clean no cable look in my cars. I've ran loads of lights before and always had the switches integrated seamlessly, sometimes out of sight. I concur with anti cigarette lighter man, that's what I'd do too.
@@smiles564 you don't want to do this as the lights will only turn on when the ignition is on. you should wire it into the "welcome illumination" fuse with an 'add-a-fuse' tap - no messy wires and no need to cut existing wiring, plus it turns on with the door and off when you close it.
Nice movie, indeed a pity of the cigarette plug. Like the red button though, cuz ejector seats, cuz 👍🏽 But I would probably connect it to the dome light. Just for entering and leaving the car. The footwell lights on during driving would be a bit to much distracting for me, I think.. Looking forward to the next modification. Maybe the SmartFlasher from Mx5things. Looks like a must have for the annoying missing tap turn feature on the NC. Can’t believe Mazda also left that feature out of the game. Keep up the nice movies 👍🏽
I installed some Mazda 'Welcome illumination' the we get here in Australia for other models, it only illuminates blue and tied it into the centre dome light. kinda the same thing but different.
Looks great after installation! Thanks for the full review of your Vont Smart Car Light Strip! We appreciate your feedback and rest assured that we'll look into your suggestion.🙏🏻💙
I installed two light strips in the footwells of my NC. I couldn't believe that there was no lighting there from the factory. I spliced the wires into the wiring that operates the dome light when the driver's door is opened. I see no need to have lights in the footwells on when driving.

Really well done and entertaining videos man! Keep it up!
I've been debating on getting an NC but I'm on the fence because I also love the 3rd gen mazda 3. My fear has been having to carry any larger items.

I installed something similar in mine last year and love it! Its controlled with a phone app.
Cool
Govee seems to have a similar product and app
If only we could add a theme song that is played every time you open the door as well..
I think you’re gonna find your right leg hitting those wires and that control module while cruising
How do you charge your cell ? Since the 12v is being occupied
The head unit has USB on it, so it charges via being plugged in to that. My 12v was empty until now.
