Painting A Old Dishwasher With Stainless Steel Paint Makeover

- I had to replace the rubber gasket and drain filter of my dishwasher so I figured I'd paint it with stainless steel paint to match the fridge and give it a makeover while I'm at it.
The product I used is a Liquid Stainless Steel paint kit.

I love working with this paint when painting dishwashers because it is a water-based product so it is easy to work with and it has no odor.
You'll have to apply 4-5 thin coats of the stainless steel basecoat and let it dry for about an hour between each coat.
The clear topcoat can be applied 2 hours after your last coat.
1 coat will give you a matte finish.
2 coats a semi-gloss
3 coats a gloss finish
If you do get drips or runs, they can easily be lightly sanded with a 220 grit sandpaper.

Just what I needed. Nice video and to the point. I have a white dishwasher and want to match it with my other appliances. I don't want to buy a new one because it is just the two of us and we don't use a lot of dishes. It is mostly for looks.

Don’t get rid of that dishwasher, that was the most powerful and reliable dishwasher made. They don’t make them like that anymore…I have the same machine running strong

@@DIYhomeimprovementguy Is it still runnin good? I’ve got a portable one in all white of this same model. Not only is it pretty quick with cycles but it’s the most powerful cleaning system residential machines ever seen, the Powerclean module 5 level wash system Whirlpool called it. Now these newest machines have control board issues, parts failing within the first few years, and they take several hours because they have fewer fill cycles. These were such classics as I’ve been working on appliances for a while, looks great though how yours looks now it’s very sleek!! Great video!!

We've moved since then, but it lasted a good 3 years. The clear coat is pretty solid. We didn't use harsh chemicals to clean it which probably helps.

I think 2-3 coats might work.
Can this product be used on stainless steel? I want To repaint my stainless steal because my nephew cleaned the stove with a Brillo pad and scratched the surface.

Did you do a video taking the control panel off? I want to do this but my dishwasher is all white. I want the control panel to be black. So I'm thinking black spray paint?
I lost that recording while uploading so I didn't get to put both ways on this video unfortunately. It's doable though. Make sure you use a adhesion promoter first so that the Spray paint sticks to the plastic. I always use this amzn.to/2USWBcw before spray painting plastic. And I would use Rustoleum spray paint with that amzn.to/3dsuAPc

Hi! How does this painted stainless appliance compare to the other stainless appliances in the same room. Does it look out of place and painted? I have two stainless appliances and a black dishwasher. Any advice is appreciated.
I'm actually happy how it looked compared together.
As long as they're not standing directly next to eachother they blend well. It held up pretty long too.
The motor gave out so I had to buy a new one.

It comes with the kit - I think it's acrylic (?)
They've more than doubled the price on this product in just a few months. - Price gouging.
