Johnny your timing for this video is great. Like usual work is busy but also taking a class that meets on zoom so I will need quick meals at least 3 or 4 nights a week. I am making enchiladas and steak & cheese dinners this week. BTW no shame making sausage gravy with the mix, I do it. Just got to add sausage to serve it. Again great griddle cooks!

Congrats on the new griddle and thanks so much for subscribing. Also I really appreciate you purchasing the ebook I hope its helpful. It's not the fancyest book but it's everything I know about the flat top. Have a good one brother.
Hey Johnny, how ya been. Always like easy and quick recipes, who can go wrong with that. No one. Still waiting for a T-Shirt though, lol. Happy griddling.
Love the videos, Johnny! I literally can’t even watch them without a beer in my hand. I know you cook in the winter. I live in Vermont, where it’s as cold as you’d ever want it to be. Any issues with the flat top in the winter? Tips and tricks? I asked Reddit and everyone just called me names. Thanks.
Hahaha I'm glad that I'm not drinking alone during the videos then. Sorry about your reddit experience but that seems to be a common theme. It's amazing how comfortable people are at being rude when their real identity is kept a secret. My advice for cooking in the winter is to definitely warm it up on low. You don't want to shock the metal by preheating on high when it's been sitting in 5 degree weather all day. Also it may not get as hot as normal on certain settings so definitely have your infrared thermometer handy if you have one. If you don't have one I would highly recommend getting one for all year round. It's just a great resource. I hope that helps and thanks so much for watching.

Hi Johnny, I’ve been watching your videos since I bought my griddle in the spring ( which I absolutely love, and like you I now have 2, the other one is at my cabin). My question is: you mention working late, what is your real job?
Hey Roger, glad to meet another two griddle man!😄. Thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it. I don't see work that late it's just usually until 6. My wife works until like 6:30 or 7 though bc she's a veterinarian. I work for a place in Columbus OH that sell fireplaces and grills. So I got a great job for making videos about cooking outside. Thanks again for watching brother.
Johnny, new subscriber. Great channel. If you want to kick up the enchiladas a bit add a healthy dollop of the enchilada meat before/when adding it to the cheese mixture. From one professional drinker to another. I love the quick and easy stuff.
@@kdodson3585 ya that's what I assumed you meant but didn't want to correct you. I feel like that would def give it a little more of a kick. If it were just me I'd add some diced jalopenos too but gotta keep my wife happy ya know.

We have a Deep freezer, we’ve had for 35-37 years, and it’s still going. Having casserole to make and freeze for us would be fantastic mad I’m disabled 😢 and have health problems, there days I want to cook but..there days I hate cooking. It’s just to much time spent in the kitchen. So…yes…I’m looking for meals to make that make it better to help keep me more out of the kitchen for so..long. Thanks for your videos.
Wow that's a workhorse of a freezer if it's still working! I'm sorry to hear about your health problems. I hope this video gave you some good ideas and I appreciate you watching.
Thanks Don I appreciate you watching. Ya I've done sausage gravy a bunch I got a video on it too. I like to throw in a little bit of "The W" sauce in mine as well, and some butter. I just did this one with a packet to show an easy alternative for people.
Yoooo!! Thanks for sparking my curiosity into the world of griddles! I recently bought a Members Mark 5 burner griddle, seasoned it and am using it a couple of times a week. Love it! But I’m worried I’m kind of over killing it when I clean it, also I’m not sure if what I’m seeing in the surface is rust or just stuff left on the surface. Can you make a playlist just for seasoning, cleaning and maintaining the griddle? That would be great! Keep up the good content brotha, you’re a natural!
Hey man congrats on the new griddle. Ya the surface might have a small amount of rust on them it happens over time. The more you cook on it the more it will build back up. It's hard to keep it all a perfect black seasoning. I have a video where I used a grill brick to remove rust which I will link below and I will link my seasoning video as well. But first I'm going to link a video by my buddy Neil his channel is "the flat top king". He has a great video explaining the deference between routine cleaning and deep cleaning and when you should use a stone. It's all correct and I agree with 100% of what he says. He has a ton of experience as well working with flat tops. I hope that's helpful and thanks so much for watching. Flat Top King Video: th-cam.com/video/96ukjTDH5sU/w-d-xo.html
Johnny, do you have specific recipes for a 17" griddle. I only have one heat control and not several. Knowing that makes a difference, can you give me some ideas for a one control griddle? Thanks!!!!!
Unfortunately I do not. It does limit things a bit, but for the most part you can just do smaller versions of all meals. You just really need to pay attention to cooking order. Make sure you're putting down whatever takes the longest first.
Just discovered your channel after getting my cuisinart 360xl griddle assembled. Can't wait to try your recipes and create my backyard redneck benihana!! :D

Made some real simple tomato soup with my grilled cheese today. Sliced 6 tomatoes into thick steaks and tossed in some garlic. On the griddle till they were hot and had some color. Tossed in a blender with basil salt pepper. Best tomato soup I’ve had. Filled the blender cost around $8(edit: little bit of heavy cream too)
That sounds fantastic Robert!!! Thank you for sharing I need to give this a try. I was half way through reading this recipe and thought (is he going to throw in any cream or milk). Then I got to your edit at the end and started laughing. I always throw in a little cream too. Not a ton to overwhelm it but just a bit. Thanks again for sharing.

John, I’m from central Florida, and I married a Youngstown girl. Every other year we visit her relatives during the Canfield Fair week. One thing we have to do is hit Bob Evans at least once. Her favorite at Bob Evans is the Fried Mush. If you ever run out of ideas for a video, could you help me out and show us how to make fried mush? (I think Bob Evans restaurants have discontinued fried mush)
Hi Jeff! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. That's cool your wife is from Youngstown, I can here the Bruce Springsteen song playing in my head lol. I'm sorry they discontinued the mush that stinks. It it doesn't surprise me bc it wasn't super popular when I was there and that was about 15 years ago. I wish I could do a mush video for you and hopefully this doesn't change her foundness of it but it was premade when I was there. It came in a large block, cold, and we would just slice pieces off then throw them in the fryer. So I don't actually know how they made it. You could also put it on the flat top. If I get time maybe one day I can look up a recipe and try to recreate it for you. Thanks so much for watching.

I too enjoy the web slinging antics of that wall crawling web-head, drinking beer, griddle cooking, torturing others with low-ball puns, and drinking beer. This channel is relevant to my interests and pleasingly positive. Subscribed.
Awesome man! Sounds like we're like minded people.
Good job.
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey Guy glad the timing of this video worked well for you. Sounds like you have a busy week but some great meals planned. Thanks for always watching buddy.
This really nice
Thanks, I appreciate you watching.

Thanks Moyia!
New griddle owner and new subscriber. Love your videos also just bought your EBook, really looking forward to using that. Thanks again
Congrats on the new griddle and thanks so much for subscribing. Also I really appreciate you purchasing the ebook I hope its helpful. It's not the fancyest book but it's everything I know about the flat top. Have a good one brother.
Professional drinker? Where do you work? Are they looking for help, I have years and years of experience!
Love your videos. Keep 'em coming.
Hahaaha whe we have more openings at my work you'll be the first to know. As of right now I don't want to bring in any competition😂
Love your low key commentary, but I feel compelled to say sour cream and sliced black olives are amazing!!
Thanks buddy. Hey I respect that and say yo each his own 😁
Hey Johnny, how ya been. Always like easy and quick recipes, who can go wrong with that. No one. Still waiting for a T-Shirt though, lol. Happy griddling.
Hey Bruno!!!!! Ya I gotta get those t shirts ready by Christmas, perfect stocking stuffers.
@@JohnnyBrunet exactly
Try searing the biscuits first.. I tried it once and can't have em any other way. Great video! Gave me some good ideas
That's a great idea John I will definitely give ve it a try.
gained a follower lol nice slow video with good info and a few laughs
Thanks! I always appreciate support from another Johnny.
Lol professional drinker love it lol my man
Thanks William!
Okay I love stubby
😂. Love the olive comment. Who the heck puts olives in that?. Anyway. Yea. You are altogether fun sir !. I appreciate all you do and your videos !. Sorry if I miss spelled. Forgot my glasses 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks James!
I’ll start my diet next week 😎
Hey thanks for subscribing and thanks for the suggestion I will defintly give that a try next time!
@@JohnnyBrunet I meant to say add some enchilada sauce to the meat before adding to cheese.
@@kdodson3585 ya that's what I assumed you meant but didn't want to correct you. I feel like that would def give it a little more of a kick. If it were just me I'd add some diced jalopenos too but gotta keep my wife happy ya know.
@@JohnnyBrunet not to belabor this comment but I eat a lot of enchiladas. I started to individualize, them one end is mine with extra green chile for first 2 and then go with milder for wife and grandkids. Secret is marking the right end. Again love the channel. Been binge watching to catch up.
@@kdodson3585 that's a good idea too. I don't make enough enchiladas. There's really pretty easy and delicious. Do you have a favorite brand of sauce?
@@JohnnyBrunet the videos really help. Thank you.
Oh, Johnny. I was tracking right along until you used the gravy packet. Brown you sausage, add flour, and the add milk. Best sausage gravy ever.
Thanks Don I appreciate you watching. Ya I've done sausage gravy a bunch I got a video on it too. I like to throw in a little bit of "The W" sauce in mine as well, and some butter. I just did this one with a packet to show an easy alternative for people.
You got me finally...pulled the trigger on a 4 burner campchef...on Amazon for 429
They also got me for a dimond plate topper, canvas cover, and a turner set...I already have a laser temp gun 😀
Oh nice congrats on the new griddle!!!! Ya Amazon can be a slippery slope, they'll get ya 🤣🤣
If you have a ninja blender. Take those can of chipoltes in Adoba sauce and blend the whole can. It makes a great marinade for literally everything.
I did that once with shrimp and it turned out amazing!

Thumbs up for the head shake against olives in sloppy joes.
Hahaha thanks Guy, glad to see someone who's fighting the good fight with me.
Awesome man Backyard redneck Benihanan sounds great to me!!!
Got year and a half old twins... Definitely pickin up what you're puttin down 😂 bedtime is in the bible somewhere I'm pretty sure
Twins! oh my that gives my anxiety just thinking about it, god bless you and your wife. If it's not in the bible it should be hahaha. Thanks for watching.
Thanks again for sharing.
you need to try Montgomery Inn Barbecue sauce Giant eagle sells it probably kroger
I'll look for it.
I need to get a griddle cover like that for my camp chef. Becomes tedious putting it up. Been a while on the videos though...need to post more!
Ya the cover is nice I found it on Amazon. Thanks for watching and I'll try to crank out more videos!
Got 3 kids lol. Gotta try the egg in a basket. And mayo on grilled cheese? What?! Gotta try that now.
Man i don't know how people do it with multiple kids we can barley figure out one! Ya def try the mayo it works out really well. Thanks for watching Sam.
😂😂😂😂Breast and Thighs though 😂😂 yes I do love them both
🤣🤣🤣
You got to do corn tortillas for enchiladas!! 🤨
A greased pig that will pee on you...OMG I can't stop laughing...

@@JohnnyBrunet hi John! I bet I can find a “copy-cat” or a cheat for the Fried Musk. Thanks for the reply. REALLY enjoy your channel. You’re my kinda guy. Very helpful, very honest, you’re just a good man. I got a group of 15 at the Lakehouse this weekend, here’s the menu the next couple of days-
Your pancakes/sausage/bacon/egg/cheese with hash browns on the side. Street tacos and Smash burgers for dinner.
Sunday- eggs, bacon, hash browns.
Cheese steaks with fries for lunch.
Brats, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches to send everyone home to start their diet on Monday. All on the Members Mark 4 burner. All thanks to you!
@@jeffhenderson3318 wow! That sounds like a hell of a weekend of meals. I'm so glad the videos have been helpful it really makes my day to hear that. I try my best to be honest so I'm glad that comes through. You enjoy your weekend and don't worry about starting that diet 🤣🤣
We did your recipe for smash provolone burgers, the 1/4 pound Sam’s Club hotdogs, hash browns, and corn on the cob. (Wrapped in tin foil and grilled in the husk. I had four teenaged girls that hadn’t had a hot dog or a hamburger since Hitler was a Corporal. The smash burgers blew them away. Thanks again for the help. (I was a little disappointed with my 6 seasoning attempts. Everything stuck. We got the pancake/sauce/bacon/egg and cheese sandwich in the morning and cheese steaks for lunch. I’m hoping the more I use the griddle the more the sticking will end. Thanks again for all the great advice and ideas)
@@jeffhenderson3318 I'm so glad everything turned out Jeff. I'm sorry there is some sticking. Are you putting a thin layer of oil down before you start each time? Also what oil did you season with and did you burn it off for about 15 minutes per layer?
Having a set of pre-cooked meats portioned into the freezer gives you an amazing range of options for a quick meal. What I like about your channel is that it is so user friendly and assumes anyone can do this,
Thanks so much Lesley I'm glad you like it and feel like its user friendly. Also I agree totally about the meats, life is much easier with a freezer of meats.
That's funny, "You don't miss a 1 1/2 year old bedtime." 🤣🤣
Love them cheese steaks! 😋
Me too Eli, thanks for watching.
We went on a camping trip a month ago. We bought a large pizza and only ate half of it. The next day, I pulled it out of the refrigerator and put it on the Blackstone to heat it up. Wow, it was better reheated than it was the day before.
I haven't done that Kevin but I have heard other people say the same thing that's crazy. I need to give it a try.
Olives in sloppy joes? Heathens !
I know it sounds insane but I swear I've seen it more than once by two different people at potlucks. I just couldn't believe it either. We gotta keep fighting to good fight!😁
