Dont bother about lay offs. If it happens..it happens. Why to live in stress about layoffs. Just get laid off and think and start fresh..No rush.. Life is far more lengthy than we think.
Be layoff proof so that the company values your skills and you are always saught after anywhere you go, layoffs are part of corporate life and lot of time its a a political decision and the axe falls on the person who is not connected to the senior bosses, so lets not be too affected by this, lets build our skills strong enough that we hv strong demand
Whenever you see many sales people are at the tech roles or leads, clearly a sign to switch off. They will explain super simple things like why 1+2=3 in a well articulated way that the manager will find it valuable and retain them with less salary.
Skilled resources always in demand. Company ko bhi business chalana he. But lot of politics in corporate and sometimes dedication hardwork also not work. I personally know dumb manager's they provide annual rating and don't no how deal with client........... In managers ka agar skill test karwao to aadhe se jyada ko suspend krwana pdega thats reality in today's time.....
Sir i have faced 2 layoffs in the last 1 year. The employers are the cfo and Chairmans of the company. How do they realise in the 3rd month of hiring that it is a wrong hire?
Sorry to say. Most of the indications you have mentioned are age old tactics. Current trend is somewhat opposite of this. They will speak nicely, business also reasonably going well, yet they do layoffs to show their might. It may sound cynical, hypothetical. Had seen happening few times. Current day layoffs are totally a googly event. It all starts from a weird thought by top top individual. Be dispassionate. Be proactive. Be prepared
Also, if they scale down or nix President Circle award trips for top performers pay attention. This happens when companies are facing budget constraints and when top performing sales people don't affect bottom line numbers anymore because of contracting macro economic conditions.
Currently, the business is going down in my firms, but no layoffs as of now since it is a small agency with only around 600-700 employees globally. But the places where i have applied also has similar environment or even worse where job cuts are going on across all domains.....Is it better to stay in my current org since it is a small sized firm with only around 200 employees in IND office in BLR or apply for vacant positions in MNC's like Deloitte , Accenture where i also hear about job reduction going on fairly large scale from my friends working over there...Could you pls guide me for the same?

Every economic trend work in cycles.. Right now its not good for job seekers, in few years as economic conditions will improve, businesses will grow and more demand will push more hiring.. But no one can predict these events.. But we can only understand how the events flow or change with time..

Stay there and Upskill yourself....so that when anything bad happens you no need to worry...As your skills will.get you the job
