I can be a perfect example of this. I was married for 4 yrs and had around 7 yrs of IT experience ( I am a guy and was 30 when married and now 39 just to clear the air) . Trust me life was hell in a relationship and it was like I was a machine of responsibility and not having any freedom to live myself. Constantly pressurized at work and not giving time to myself eventually was a path heading for losing health. Today I am divorced bcoz those unrealistic expectations were anyhow was about to collapse. I went in depression for 2 yrs and from past 2 yrs I m doing exactly what I always wanted to live. I have freedom, time, health, no stress of responsibility. Absolutely no regret of getting separated. It's like I got my bachelor days back. Only drawback will be be you should cope up with loneliness and enjoy your own company. If u keep expectations low from others then those days will ve the best. I am today financially settled post my separarion it's now 5 yrs.

How much will we upskill ourselves. It is a never ending process and roi is almost zero as experience increases. The more we try ro upskill, the more is the instability in our job. With unstable job , it is not possible to plan the future like marriage, kids or buying a house. We end up in a rat race.
One way to move out is to save sufficient money and start something on your own , not necessarily close to your qualifications.
The issue is schools and colleges influence us towards work / become employee. But no institution teaches us how to convert the knowledge we have to money. We assume salary is the only way to make money. By the time we realise this does not work, we are too old to change our current path.

The unemployment problem is due to a few factors no one is taking about. First problem is due to women force getting into the job market. This has doubled up the numbers compared to a time decades ago when mostly men were there in the job market and women were homemakers. Obviously companies don’t create jobs to include this change in dynamics. Second reason is that divorce and rate of separation are very high and people are remaining single forcing every individual looking for a job again as compared to one person being the bread winner in the family decades back. The social changes lead by divorces, women liberation, empowerment, diversity, all these narratives have created this bubble. Third reason is that every one wants job and be a consumer rather than a producer or a farmer. Traditionally the economies were rural and people were in a large way self sufficient. Therefore, the main reasons are greed, laziness, glamour, etc. Fourth reason is corporations are extremely greedy and have accumulated immense wealth and are not putting the money into circulation. The money is circulating amongst the corporations, politicians, criminals and the media and is largely accumulated and not being utilised. Leaving the rest of the population gaping for breath

Hikes in Indian services based companies are very pathetic or very less, we need improvement in this area, considering loans, inflation. It is a really hard time for solo earners in the family and maintaining a home loan. Also w.r.t home purchase, It is better to buy a plot or land in city suburbs initially at early stage of job and settle that plot loan first and then to build a house on that land later taking the PF amount along with little home loan for construction purposes.. Or you could even sell that appreciated land later and buy an apartment at proximity to the office. In this way we could avoid paying a heavy interest amount for decades by following this step by step approach.

I am seriously worried on where are we heading in personal lives and what would be future of jobs (specially for non technology backgrounds like finance, marketing, etc.)? I'm 29, married, and already worried of stability, career crisis, expenses, commitments, etc. I started my career at 22 years with starting package of 1.8 LPA and now I am at 20 LPA. It took me bloody 8-9 years and 4 switches to reach a decent earning band and out of nowhere the whole market is clouded with uncertainty of future. I am someone who is not keen on early retirement or unrealistic financial freedom by 35/40. I want my skin to be in the game for a long term, but I'm scared given the current situations. How practical is it to think of decent savings and accumulating initial capital for a side business by just 30, when someone is starting career at 22/23 with a normal education background at entry level packages? Future would be predicted that even Govt jobs are not going to be secured one. Individual should think marriage and kids are most important than career as finally earning money is only to feed one's own family. But young generations worrying about career neglecting family would certainly lead to disaster. Indian living system slowely changing like western system is alarming. There is something called "tendencial decline in the rate of profit"in capitalist economies. This theory posits that over time, due to various factors such as increased competition, technological advancements, and the inherent contradictions within the capitalist system, the average rate of profit tends to decline. As profit margins shrink, businesses may become less incentivized to invest in new ventures or expand existing ones. This reluctance to invest can have ripple effects throughout the economy, potentially resulting in reduced employment opportunities and, in some cases, necessitating layoffs to maintain profitability. Thus, the observed decline in the average rate of profit serves as a critical lens through which to analyze the dynamics of capitalist economies and their impact on employment and economic stability

This is the problem, its not about two job roles as well. If everyone starts becoming a manager dealing with clients , then where do Technical Architects go? I am not sure in whether its just India, but its baffling to me, how much no one talks about a core developers journey, beyond a Staff Engineer.
Most people who don't want to managerial role, got into a IT job, because they wanted to tackle bigger and better challenges, becoming wizards in their domain (which itself is pretty vast), and rest of them is there for the money. But the funny thing is, in an interview, they ask, "Why do you want to join the company?" , and you can't tell them "For monetory reasons and other benefits that come with it".
This doesn't make one single sense, its like people want to do stupid, but not be called out on that. 90% of the IT industry is run by Stupid. Because Agile and Scrum gave these managers and CxOs a buy-in ticket to sit at higher power tables without having any rigorous experience in the domain itself.

I just want to share my personal observation while staying in bangalore with other IT professionals:
1.They are not happy with job, payscale and relationships.
2.When my partner says i love you and with you forever is not the reality now.
    .
3.I have seen my friends wife divorced him because his pay scale didnt increase in the last three years, although he learned prompt ,machine learning.
4 Rents are extremely high in bangalore.
    5. Expectations from organization have increased tremendously without any sign of increase of wages
    .
6.People like us cannot have shaadi because girls parents want stable job and girls have thier own standards.
7.when we do reach stable package and salary we are over 33-34 years of age and no girl wants to marry.
    8. No body wants to compromise neither spouse neither oraganization ,Hence the concept of marriage fades forever.
Hence i have comcluded to leave this profession and start my own business.Although my earnings would not be great in the beginning but atleast i will have the peace and confidence to take decisions about my future.

Outside of India, India and China are viewed as sources of cheap labor. They only need to pay roughly 1/4 of what they pay abroad, while making the same product, which then gets sold for the same price globally, whether in India or elsewhere. Indian employers always throw this excuse: "The salary is good compared to the living expenses of the region"

Few job opportunities in market, and excessive supply of graduates and applicants leading to exploitation. There is no solution as of now. If there is a chance migrate to other countries for better job opportunities and for better quality of life. No other way to survive.

The future is what you know and never who you know and we can see leadership crisis globally due to who you know
what I would like is the Young being able to lead and advise CEOs why is it that the current generation CEO mostly reluctant to take advice publicly from young people no harm right and it’s only been vice versa 😮
knowledge can come at any age the drive and output sits with youth for now the inspiration should be for everyone’s benefit. Top Leadership is in the hands of very few unworthy in key sectors they only complain and work out of FEAR showing lack of self worth in them and that’s not serving right for anyone and remember each person is unique and everyone is leading a finite life within which time they need to squeeze being parents to grandparents to old age to all sorts of health crisis we see on the increase - dont think you need to be at the top to inspire even a little kid with pure intent for all CAN by sharing openly don’t be scared what is HR doing nothing😅 so never underestimate how each of you can make thischange. From UK we see the same. Global crisis we need to self lead 🎉 forever

I can relate my experience transitioning from mortgage to insurance after facing layoffs during interest rate hikes. With 11 years of BPM expertise, I've navigated through team leadership roles, overseeing performance reviews, attrition management, escalations, hiring and firing, leave approvals, client billing, overtime negotiations, team efficiency, client management, cross-training, and resource management. It's intriguing why some in IT hesitate to take on similar responsibilities even after a decade in the field. Embracing diverse roles has been personally fulfilling and professionally enriching for me.

I have a similar scenario. I could afford a 1 crore flat but I bought a flat with 50 lakhs so that I can pay off the loan asap. I would not have bought a flat if it was not absolutely necessary. I am not going to buy a car on EMI. If the flats price is a little low and I have to travel for one hour only then I think it is okay to buy a flat a little far from the office. There are more measures I have taken that I can't explain here in the comments.

All these issues are self created. Everyone wants to b a coder. No one wants to explore other engineering avenues. Coding is glorified in the first year of college itself. Then obviously corporations will exploit whenever there is a oversupply of talent and try to do things with the least cost and therefore comes pay cuts, layoffs, 18 hrs of work, job instability and so on..
