Narayan Murthy: You must work hard to build wealth and success for me.
Don't ask for salary hike or compensation as you know market is struggling a lot.

You cannot solve a capitalist problem with a socialist solution. Think of any capitalist solution. These capitalist will bribe the union leaders or make them fight with each other. The era of Unionbaazi ended in 1991 with libralization of Indian economy.

    The questions for cartoon murthy.
    1. he was leaving his home at 6.30 and reaching back home from work at 8.30 PM, travelling time is not considered as work, only logged into company computer is considered as work time. and lunch and tea and snack times are not considered as work time. So he tell us the real time he worked.
    2. In 1986 cartoon murty was running a company and Jeff Bezos was a student, but today Bezos is a richest person on this planet and murthy a cartoon just meme material, murthy worked for 14 hours and Bozos just 7 hours. Does that not means murthy is a inefficient cartoon.

I appreciate Sri Narayana Murthy's perspective on dedicating 70 hours per week to work, as it highlights the importance of hard work and commitment. However, I believe that success doesn't necessarily come from long hours alone. A combination of smart work focused hard work, and a positive work environment-free from gossip, office politics, and micromanagement-can lead to greater productivity and satisfaction. Personally, I focus on office work during office hours and often work on my own freelance project tasks at home, sometimes up to 1 or 2 a.m. or even longer when required. I love programming and coding, so for me, it's not just work; it's a passion that drives me to give my best.

Narayan Murthy can say this because he knows that there is not enough capitalism in Indian society and Indians don’t have mentality of capitalism. So the employees has limited options for switching or starting own company. So he can speak like that. He worked 14 hours that’s his choice, he knew the perks of building something like Infosys. Why should everyone work on his wishes ? Some may like to spend more time to the family.

He is wrong in a basic point, he was not in salaried job he was doing business. Whatever he did still he is getting benefit also his family is enjoying it. But for an employee if they don’t go even for one more day beyond his designed leave he will not get paid. After employment he will not get anything which he still gets. None of employees family will get benefit after his job ends. On top of that the employee could be out of so called family by employers due to slow down or to increase profits. So there has no comparison between own business and working in other business. If you see any business man works a lot, many work even more. Sometimes they work from 6am to 10/11 pm at night. So what he did that is for his own company why he expect his employees will do it? On top of that he want 6 work days by paying 2 days equivalent.
Totally nonsense he tells better not to listen and give importance to him.

Narayan Murthy six day work culture
It's not just work life balance.
Two days of work week helps families to go outside and have fun. The Hospitality Industry Restaurant and many industry develops from these holidays.
It's stronger the bond between the families.
Even legendary entrepreneurs Henry Ford used to give two days holiday so that there employees can spend money and this will help other industry and create jobs.
He wants Japanese work culture to be adopted which will can results in destroying the family and ultimately will affect the birth rate too.
First ask Narayan Murthy to pay a good salary and create office in tier 2 cities so that unnecessary people should have to travel to Bengalore Or Pune as IT can play a big in developing other cities which will help employees to save more and they will spend more on the Indian economy. The tourism industry and others can only prosper when we have a small or big holiday.

In Indian philosophy, human life's purpose transcends economic development, encompassing four essential pursuits or purusharthas: dharma, artha, kama, and moksha. Moksha, the ultimate goal, represents spiritual liberation. Artha (wealth) and kama (desires) serve as supportive elements for achieving dharma (righteous living) and moksha.
Dharma extends beyond mere religiosity; it embodies a virtuous way of life, encompassing principles like truthfulness, self-control, and mental discipline. When one becomes solely absorbed in artha and kama, time for contemplation on moksha is lost.
The harmonious balance of these purusharthas is crucial for a fulfilling and purpose-driven life

I think it should be 8 hours of day but it should be productive hours. Most of us Indians waste lot of time(Gossiping, frequent coffee breaks, smoking etc) , compare to western counter parts ..we need to admit to it and improve in this area.

That’s not a good example of leadership. Just because you did it doesn’t mean everyone can do it. Most important people need family time. Hard work doesn’t mean you become a machine.
Just shows how much this man lacks empathy and without empathy you can’t call yourself a leader but call yourself a hilter.

As he is getting old he is losing his mind. As the philosophy says as you get older your hunger for money also grows. Which part of the world he is going to take this money.
If he has so much guts let him pay as per the inflation and take care of the monthly rent of the employees that work in Infosys.

When Mr. Murthy started his career, Indians didn't have confidence on themselves. He was the one who won abroad projects and prove that Indians can deliver software projects, which is considered very difficult. Bcoz of people like him, we are all enjoying the benefits from the IT industry.
12+ hours work schedule was a norm till 2005 or 10 in my experience. We Indians sweated out like that and laid foundation to this IT industry which people are enjoying today.
