    Happy to see that you still are fixing that Honda. I had five 97 accords over the years but now I drive a 98 Toyota Camry. The captive brake rotors and unrefined shifting transmission of an accord wore me out if the years.

      I'll be buried in that Honda.. And I agree on the transmission.. My other car is a 96 Lexus ES300 which is basically a fancy Camry.. Much smoother transmission..

    You think this can of silicone would work good for hose quick connects for outside water hoses? mine all worked good the first yr but they're getting harder to disconnect in my 2nd season.

      Yes it should work.. Or try this with something you likely have in your kitchen.. th-cam.com/video/Jc0u-VGdKNY/w-d-xo.html

    Does the silicone get all over your clean windows though?

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, it does/did get on the windows.. I just wiped it off with a clean rag no window cleaner just the rag.. Part of an old cotton t-shirt if I remember correctly..

    Good for bushings also.

    Definitely a must on old Honda’s. Their power windows seem weak compared to others.

      I agree.. Even completely clean and lubed still relatively slow..

      To be fair with all that crud the motor has been overworked for years. The fact that it still works is kind of miraculous for it’s age.

    I have some Teflon lube as well (ans also silicone) and thought Teflon will be a good alternative to silicone when it comes to plastics, nylon, vinyl etc. But about a month or two ago I was talking to window repairman and he said just use silicone for vinyl tracks. So yeah, can’t go wrong with silicone for those applications. Thanks.

    Any idea if this is safe to use on tinted windows?

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question.. I didn't even consider that.. My driver's side windows are tinted and 5 months later no damage to the tint.. Passenger side windows are no longer tinted.. Tint was removed due to peeling at the top.. Long before using silicone on the window tracking..

    How long will this last for? WD-40 doesn’t last at all my window takes like 15 seconds to roll up it’s terrible and I have a 2023

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Silicone spray is absorbed by the rubber weatherstripping and window tracking which helps it last longer than something that just treats the surface.. I reapply about once every 6 months..

      Will the silicone lubricant leave smudge marks on the glass and will it leave the glass foggy? I bought this silicone spray today and can’t wait to try it over the weekend

    Can you use it for ignition key

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Powdered graphite is best to avoid build up of residue but if you do use the silicone I would spray a little onto the key rather than spray into the switch through the keyhole..
