Is anyone else horrified as to the amount of cases where the murderer kills once, a crime of opportunity, and goes on and leads a "normal" life with a wife and kids? There are so many of these......who are these "men"??

@funwithFred just last week I thought the same thing. What causes a normal, average person to take someone's life & then just go on living their normal life, being a pillar of the community, and have a family, never getting caught or caught after 20 or more years! 😢

Gary Ridgeway (One of the worst serial killers in U.S. history) had a whole wife and kids. None of them expected him of killing. I know his wife at one point thought he was cheating on her with other women (Which he technically was). He hated women, But fell in love with his wife.

This case happened my freshman year at college. Mandy lived across the hall from my roommates and me. We had just signed to be on her enter mural basketball team. We held a memorial in our dorm common room for her. All of were crying. We couldn’t believe it. It was so sad and heartbreaking. She was beautiful and sweetheart. The world lost a lot when it lost Mandy.

What they mean is rich people have the means and do sue over investigations becoming public. So yes law enforcement does in fact make sure they got the right person before making it known they are being investigated. It is your money they are working with, and having to spend a couple miilion to settle lawsuit because you were investigating the wrong person, is not a good thing.

You have to ask what's more likely.
The man who made that statement was the "cold case" investigator, and he was offering his explanation and speculation of why the previous investigation didn't look into Bass.
      What's more likely:
The original investigators looked into everyone except Bass.

My two grown kids and I go hiking almost every weekend. We live at the foot of the Appalachians, so there's never a shortage of new trails, and we have over 100 waterfalls in a 75 mile radius. But when my son discovered the dozens of cases of disappearances in the area it gave us pause. I was amazed at the number of unsolved cases, as if this area was a hotbed of serial killer activity. So now we always go armed. It has unfortunately become a necessary evil in this day and age. What the hell has hapened to people? Is it just because there are so many more people? I dont know, but it bothers me. And my kids never, never go hiking alone, and neither should you, no matter how safe you might feel. Please take the advice of someone who has been doing this for many years.

But this law she advocated for, a law making it difficult to find addresses for judges, should apply to police officers and many other so-called public-servant professions as well. This tragedy could’ve been a platform not merely to the creation self-serving laws, but laws that would help many public servants outside of judges. And that’s what I find disturbing about the lack of vision in this so-called Daniels Law.
