One of the only videos on TH-cam that addresses this problem in any way. Thank you. Really Sony should implement full UAC 2.0 support and stop 'paywalling' OS features to their own headphone accessories. The only DAC/AMP that doesn't seem to suffer this is the Qudelix 5K which has a PS5 mode (used to be called Host Volume Override in their App). Other DAC/AMPs I've tried; Creative SBX G6. GC7, X1, S.M.S.L C200 all had the same issue of massive volume dropoff on PS5 versus PC. And yet in numerous places people will state the G6 works perfectly with the PS5. It doesn't and you need amplification to offset the volume dropoff. In my experience optical for stereo just sounds better if you have optical out on your TV or a HDMI audio splitter.

considering 3D audio is supposed to be a major feature of the console it'd be nice if sony could eventually address this problem, even if it means a console redesign down the road that actually has an optical port, and/or a USB-optical converter sold by sony that doesn't have the audio glitch here.

I just purchased the Schiit Hel DAC. I'd highly recommend it for the PS5 with a decent pair of headphones
@Trey Muehlbach I bought lg ultragear gaming speaker 🔊 it's saying , I can connect with uac 2.0 in ps4 or ps5 , but how out put connect to the speaker via aux cable or shiitt he'll 2 only for headphones

Yes, there are actually people who found the channel through that video. Unfortunately the company behind it NEVER sent me or anyone else final units and is accused of never sending anything to many people for many different orders. I unlisted it because of that.

@Giga Boots Tech Lab if i dont want to use 3d audio for multiplayer games, can i just use the usb C (should have uac2 usb !? ) port of the ps5 to connect my usb soundcard (i want to buy sharkoon pro v2 or soundblaster g3 ) or is there still the problem with uac1 of ps5 and uac2 of soundcard ???
there any davice that works better ? i have steelseries artis pro wireless, and i play for 4k 120 hz- the problem is there are not hdmi 2.1 extractor available on the market. there anyway i could fix this problem with one of those devices? thank you for you help

The audio disappears when I hit enemy's sometimes both on hyperx headphones and TV speakers it just started last week it has never happened before I have it for 6 months do you have any tips on how to fix it?
hdmi 2.1 extractors are coming out in 2 months, but i'm wondering what's the best external dac/amp to get 5.1 dolby downmixed into stereo since 3d audio is not available through optical but 5.1 dolby downmixed should be better than 2d audio right?
I use a qudelix 5k plugged into usb newest firmware has app setting to output the ps5 usb audio at 100% fixing the low audio pulsing issues. both the balances 2.5 an single ended 3.5 out of the qudelix 5k carry the tempest 3d audio to your headphones it sounds fantastic. Also works on the nintendo switch. An charges the battery while you use it as a usb dac it's predominantly a portable bluetooth dac (Ldac aptx hd) for most people an it preforms that better then the fiio btr5.
Best of both worlds forget a Schmitt hel 2 or flashing a jds atom dac or using the Chinese dac adapters with low audio get a qudelix 5k

I have a very good quality speaker system but only with coaxial input.
I bought a usb Dac from sound blaster, but the sound is too low, I can't believe it.
I don't want to waste my money anymore, but I want to listen well, with normal volumen and without delay, especially this because I compete in street fighter and this cannot happen.

@GigaBoots Tech Lab I need your help man , I installed Spider-man (PS4 disc) on a PS5 SSD and the cutscene have audio lags , sound cut after like 1 secs at each dialogue during cutscene...!!! I erased and installed 3x times , tryed to switch PCM linear to Bitstream Dolby etc etc , PLEASE PLEASE help me fixing this , im becoming crazy .....please
Or stick a headphone jack in your controller. I Tested it on ssd speedway on astro. For 5.1 optical I bought the extractor made by the astro headsets makers.

I’m having problems with the Ps5 3D pulse audio headsets when I use wireless usb but it works perfectly with the audio cable
The PS5 USB audio is not line out, it is headphones out, that's why the volume is reduced. The PS5 even thinks it's a headset and disables the controller speaker. The only way how to get nice audio out of PS5 is HDMI audio.
Is hdmi-optical splitter a good idea if I don’t care about the 3D audio?
Judging by my experience with my LG TV's Optical SPDIF spooling tech, it should be fine. I had a negligible amount of noise added that was only noticeable when analyzed in software. Your setup will limit you long before a quality HDMI-SPDIF demuxer.

My Fiio e17k wasn't able to deal too well with PS4 doing the same thing oh my low-impedance headphones so prolly not.
@@gigabootstechlab4392 I have some Sennheiser HD700 so it definitely wouldn't work out for me. I decided to just route my PS5 audio through my CX into a Optical ->Coax converter and into my DAC. Not exactly elegant but it's my best option right now. Hopefully Sony adds 3D Audio over HDMI sooner rather than later

Have to say, even using my USB audio to headphone directly is still sound so quiet. PS5 is just so bad at their DAC implementation.

Sony was really hyping up audio, yet atm it falls flat on its face for the people I imagine would care the most about it... us audiophile gamers.
I have currently a fiio K5 pro connected to my tv via toslink for amplifying my headphones.
It works and sounds great... but Tempest 3D audio? No appearantly toggling 2 channel digital audio from the dualsense to a suitable high quality digital format over HDMI instead. no can do because reasons??
Usb dacs. yeah well its well covered in the video. Fix it sony and add UAC2.
So getting 3D audio on any serious gear is gimped,complicated... and stupid.
Im also inclined to believe that Bluetooth headphones doesnt work either.

I will attempt pairing my Philips iems later. but I did try to pair my D90 dac (D90+A90 stack I use on my computer) to the ps5 and the device was "not supported", so yeah not hoping for much.
AFAIK Ps5 has Bluetooth 5 and Sony owns LDAC.
Add it to the list of audio things sony need to update/add because you know something like Drop/THX pandas + Ps5 + 3D audio well hell yeah. wireless gaming wouldnt seem to get much better than that.
And finally more audio options and settings to play with in general to match different peoples setups and preferences.
I was so hyped for tempest 3D audio, and Mark cerny saying it will only support headphones at the start which you know is understandable and with HRTF profiles being added along the way and that aspect of it going to evolve sure I get it...
But ANY headphone he said!
And appearantly we were being lied to because it seems it blatantly dont support bluetooth audio devices at all, and besides the quality of the dualsense output concidering its wireless with limited bandwith shared between different things, battery power shared between everything else that uses power and costs money that is also crammed in.... it also needs a dac and little amplifier and it has limited power resource.... it simply cannot power a fair few headphones.
Like audiophile schiit such as dedicated headphone amps most audiophiles get range in power output between like 1 to 7 watts. and the max reccomended impedance for the DS4 controller was like 32 ohms impedance headphones. (and impedance isnt all I know sensitivity is a thing too)
Now imagine 200-1K ohm impedance headphones.
ATH R70X's 470 ohms, various Fostex some of which are notoriously hard to drive, sennheiser HD600 300 ohms, Beyerdynamic DT880 at yeah 880 ohms etc...

Yeah Bluetooth for gaming is just stupid.

Trying to use a USB Microphone with a usb dac or like in this video a usb to optical converter is alot of fooling around (it works but the settings dont stay saved) Had to go with the aux port of my monitor... (aux to rca into rca to optical to topping dac)
It is strange that I can't find 1 headset that works as intended for ps5...
There are no revieuws of usb only headsets...
All headsets suck atm.
