The Sony PS5 launched alongside the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S a few weeks ago. While it has been nearly impossible to get one with scalpers buying up every console available, many of us have been lucky enough to get our hands on a shiny new PS5 and Xbox Series console. The PS5 has cutting edge technology with an incredible AMD SoC based on Zen 2 and RDNA2 that offers stellar gaming performance with ray tracing, the option for 4K 120Hz and even 8K. But not everything is perfect with the PS5. The glossy plastic is horrid looking, the console can capture 4K gameplay but doesn't do so by default, the 667GB of user storage will run out soon, and more. Let's fix those issues in this PS5 troubleshooting video!
EDIT: Want to address a remark I think many missed... you needn’t disassemble the console to perform this modification. Doing it with just the side panels off works very well. Take care of the area with the buttons and you’ll be fine. take off the side panels and apply a 3m carbon fiber vinyl skin from amazon. ezdubs. would take lots of razor blade work but would be hella clean.

For those that don't like the plastic, I would also consider getting a Dbrand skin and or their side panels.
There is no way an average person would hate glossy plastic so much as to to go through this disassembly...
Right? Most I would do is a sticker or hiding the PS5 where I can’t see it. The screws are what killed my interest 😂
guys, buy a roll of vinyl you can change the style every week.
I would have just pulled off the panels and taped the rest of the stuff or get USB dust covers. Seems easier

Get a microfiber towel or swifter duster, and use it gently every other week for dust. No need to do all of this, will keep it clean.

That man just took apart virtually the whole console just to pre-scratch it.
I use a 500gb Samsung T5 on my Xbox One X and it’s the single best “upgrade” or accessory to buy for it. Games like Forza Horizon 4 or GTAV are so much faster than before it feels like a totally different generation / console. Forza loads in about 1/2 the time and the menus and selections are significantly more responsive. An external SSD (especially a high end Samsung model) will always be a console recommendation for me.

For anyone in the UK, XtremeSkins is still selling PS5 skins and has them specifically for the middle glossy section, if you’d rather not disassemble your console
Insted of disassembly the entier thing to brush it I think I would just tape the side and try it this way.
I wish dbrand would sell the skin for just the middle part of the PS5. But they unfortunately discontinued their whole line because the weird PS5 shape was impossible to cover properly...

On the video I just been watching he recommends putting the palm of the hand at the bottom of the console, and lifting the corner under the insignia, it stops the faceplate coming of too quickley , which could scratch it.
I haven't watched yet, but something that aggravates me to no end is the lag when in a game, pressing the PS button on the control, and it taking 15 years for the quick menu to appear. It drives me absolutely nuts!

I have no issue with the design of the console, just wipe the shiny black area with a soft cloth ( like the one you would use for your glasses) to remove dust etc.
So take apart the entire console to sand a glassy plastic peace. My suggestion is just get some microfibre cloths to wipe the glossy areas it won’t scratch it and if you do have scratches and don’t like it just go get a skin to cover the glossy section.
This will be sitting in my living room, I don't need to go through all this trouble

My digital ps5 is making a loud buzzing noise when playing high demanding games like fortnite etc. Is that normal?
When it first boots up maby but when your playing in game NO. That's why I'm personally getting the 500$ one not 400$ I mean you never know they might add only disc versions of a game I might like

My idea of a nightmare is the disassembly of the system. As someone with ADHD, this would literally sink me. I’d rather have revoltingly ugly scratches all through my system.
Yeah I agree. There's nothing worse than having to remove and especially replace 50 tiny screws and all those tiny, fragile parts, while remembering exactly where everything goes. And 1 screw up and you don't have a console. But hey we managed to scratch the living hell out of it so it uh....looks so bad that it looks better so yay. Ugh.

Soooo wouldn’t it be easier to just put sticky tape on the USB holes then scrub up the glossy black away instead of taking it apart??

@@coolbreezetg6 he did say that it can be done without dismantling the console, but the shavings will enter the USB ports and the vents, it might also ruin the power and eject buttons
@@manakmishra 8 know but it was just dumb to disassemble it. If you want to avoid dust getting in the button area just put some maskimg tape 🤣

I did not even touch the gloss surface ever since I receive the console. I literally hold the PS5 for a few seconds, only touch the white plastic and place it in my TV cabinet. I will never ever need to touch the gloss surface with the exception of the first power up.
I think the coolest look for the PS5 would have been black side plates and a silver middle section with a brushed steel look.
Firstly u don’t even have to touch the black plastic if you don’t want to u can use the controller to power on power off and eject discs,secondly why would you potential brake your console to stop the odd fingerprint, and thirdly if you scratched it with your nail you might want to consider nail clippers just an idea 💡
I'll just wait till they come up with a matte black version themselves. That's gonna be quicker than me taking apart the ps5 anyway

I just got the ps5 and it was fine at first and I had all my ps4 games on extended storage. However after I loaded a few games I noticed it started getting noticeably slow and my ps5 even crashed. I fixed it now but idk what happened
They need to fix the analog :/
Drift been an issue for a while now yet if you open the PS5 controller you will see they did nothing to update the analog mechanisms at all.
Gotta keep people buying replacements I guess.

remember when you can copy ur music, pictures, & video's from ur flash drive to ur ps3 & save it to the system did they bring that back for ps5 or no? (I'll copy & past this on other vids to get a answer)

U forgot the hard disk corrupted data issue
My mk11 ps5 version and fortnite won’t update and I can’t play either game. That’s a serious issue. When I rebuild the database like they recommend, my ps5 has now made me redownload modern warfare even though I have all the download packs for it. And that’s happened twice.
Ok so I just want to make sure. If I take the sticker off, & disassemble the PS5, BUT I do not break anything....I still have my warranty?

So my ps5 bricked yesterday. I was playing fifa and I went to make food and after chilling downstairs I went to my office and saw my ps5 in restmode.
Then I picked up my controller and pressed a button. But I had “no signal” my ps5 was flashing blue.
I tried to put it in safe mode but when I hold the power until the second beep it just turns off.
So it only turns on and off. No in between.
I can’t get into safemode. Tried everything. Unplugging everything for an hour then trying again. Another monitor, didn’t work. Another hdmi, didn’t work not but after going through the comments *Cyberwizard015* fixed my ps5 and it’s working perfectly. You can reach him on Telegram•

I agree with pretty much everyone. Shiny plastic can stay there rather than risk damage for the sake of a fingerprint. Also once I get a PS5, I think I'll be totally ok with giving the shiny plastic a buff with a microfibre cloth every so often. At least we know how to disassemble our console when we want to mod it in say five years.
When the controller mute button is lit is it muted or unmuted?

Are the Microsoft Xbox expansion cards hot-swappable? Because the lack of such a system seems like something that's going to be annoying in the future on the PS5.

no one is going to give this system a brushed look after seeing all thats involved. but you can do it its not that hard, oh also dont worry about voiding your warranty thats ok to. SUPER EASY!
i would never ever ever dismantle my ps5 like that just for the black to be just a tiny bit better😅
what if I want to sell the console why would damaging it help ? Just don't touch the black part too much and clean it regularly

Minor cosmetic issue I can’t see from my couch, or total disassembly resulting in certain destruction of my PS5 given my clutzy nature. 🧐
Oh don’t worry, just make the cut behind the occipital lobe and cut to the temporal on the left, now be careful because there are several major arteries in the area, and cutting them will make the patient bleed to death. Now use a drill to cut through the skull. Take 3.7cm out of the occipital lobe....

make a template with paper and stencil and buy cheap M3 foil and make a carbon PS5 much simpler solution and safer no tear down ....

Why on EARTH would you go to all that effort, pulling your console apart to scratch the hell out of it? Just get a matte sticker to put over the centre strip.
All great except the external storage doesn't work, i have tried 4 different drives fro normal hard drives to ssd to NVME and all corrupt on me.
