For new players make sure you grab resources from the island you spawn at
I started doing that a couple days ago
Literally impossible to find the right food now
How do I get wood??
@@aaminax1665 barrels that spawn on islands
Welp, to late
I think I’d consider myself a pro I’ve sunk a few ships, they were all mine
lol hahafunny
im in this comment and i dont like it
Lol
😂
me summed up in one comment
I was actually so fascinated by this I rewatched your video and counted all the times you said 'actually'. It's 81. On average it was actually every 7,4 seconds.
Actually I'm surprised it was only 81. It actually felt like it was going to be much more than that .... actually.
On a sad note. I had to leave the video 1/2 way through from it. I just couldnt I'm sorry amigo good info but I just couldn't.
"what I actually suggest you do..." Is count how many times I say actually xD
You need to find a girlfriend
@@villainova8941 Actually?
Turn lights off at night to avoid being spotted by enemy ships
Did you change your profile picture for this comment
ok mustard guzzler
Also avoid using your spy glass around other ships because it will flash light that others might notice.
Drinking game: take a shot every time he say ”actually”
63 shots actually.
I had to pause about 2mins in thinking "surely I can't be only one noticing this?" see this comment and other comments... Continue watching, now pretty much hardwired into detecting every instance of "actually" it just gets funnier and funnier until I'm hear him closing down with his final words and I'm thinking how can he squeeze another actually in... Surely not I mean... Damn, actually. I'm done.
@@PavelPerez 81 shots achuallay
what id suggest you do
when he said "cannon balls" did anyone else hear cannibals
Canadia Gamer yup
Yes
Actually I did actually
A tip that I came up with, is try and ally with other ships in your server, especially if they’re doing their own thing. Because every time they sell something you get 50% bonus of what ever amount they’re selling, so it’s just a way to earn money passively in SoT.
Digitally Awesome but how does that work
aMaZe_ Clan you go to the crows nest, and put offering alliances and any body who is near who wants to join with go to their crows nest and set a flag that should be right next to the offering alliances flag and they’ll join your alliance, or if you come across someone offering, you can just change your flag right next to offering alliance. If you’re lucky you can find friendly people who will talk to you before they shoot lol
I follow this tip as well, I take the We shall sail Together shanty to heart.
I sink anyone that breathes lol
Keep your ships barrels stocked up ;)
Yeah he forgot to mention to loot up before leaving the outposts
Exactly what I was looking for. Downloading the game currently, much more confident after watching this after being completely ignorant. Yours was the 2nd video listed under the search "sot guide for beginners" hopefully a new like and sub will help get it to the top :) Thanks again bud
Actually I find this video pretty actual.
Here's a tip: Actually show in the video what you're talking about, or new people have no idea what you're ACTUALLY talking about.
But hey at least he got to the 10 minute mark
@@masterjosh778 Yeah atleast he actually got the 10 minute mark actually
Coming from expirience when fighting the kraken the sloop is the only ship where dropping anchor is actually beneficial to new players because it ensures that your canon angles dont change that helps build accuracy for canon use especislly for new players. Also the sloop is the only ship where a kraken cant block the entrance to the hull so it makes it the easiest ship to maintain durring this fight
Actually, with that being said... what I suggest you do... is listen to these tips because they are very helpful.
I'm on XBOX. My bananas are binded to my left D pad for quick health and my spyglass is bonded to my right D pad for a quick scope. Seems simple but so convenient 👌
How do you bind your bananas and your Spyglass to the d-pad
So i go down to the comments to write a clever comment about how many times dude says "actually" but im late to the party...
When digging, you can double-tap the holster button right after the shovel comes out of the ground to dig about one second faster. Doesn’t seem like much, but that time quickly adds up during gold hoarder voyages
“That being said” ❤️😂
actually
@@Synicall nothing to be proud of dude. How have you got so many subscribers...
Thanks for the guide! As a player recently coming back this was really helpful
For a simple game- there is a lot I don’t know about it but it is such a beautiful environment
if you are digging up a chest, near the end of the digging up animation double tap the button that puts away an item, if you time it right your shovel will be ready quicker and you will be able to dig up most chests fairly quicker
This animation cancel can also be used when bucketing water. It really speeds up digging and bailing
I'm new to this game and this was very helpful, thank you
One thing I would add. Is if you decide to pick up the gunpowder barrels (whether for rep with merchants or for PvP battles) store them in your crows nest. That way if you do get into combat on the high seas your barrels will be harder to hit, therefore having a higher chance for your ship to avoid unnecessary damage
Pretty sure that won’t work anymore with the new ship combat stuff they’ve announced in the most recent Rare viddoc. From what I can tell a sniper could shoot them and potentially knock out your sail now that they take damage.
Really I’d recommend keeping them in the hull near the staircase for sloop and brig, while the galleon should have it towards the bottom floor front of the ship. People rarely hit the front of the gally, and the stairs will normally shield the barrels from cannon fire. If you’re worried about boarders getting to them and detonating them, the best tip for that is to not get boarded.
The kraken wails every morning at 3:15am 3 times so you can kinda figure out which direction it’s coming from.
Wait is that a way to get it to spawn
That does not actually mean it’s that way, the best way to spawn a kraken is to have a lot of loot on your ship and stay away from land/rocks
This TH-camr is actually awesome. I’ve gotten so many useful tips from him over the months it’s insane. Thank you man your a huge help to me and I think everyone else too! Keep pumping more videos out, you deserve WAY more subs 👍
4:20 for the advanced tips
#BlazeIt
Nice
Thanks for the tips first game i played i crashed my ship into a rock and didn't know how to fix it, Second time i blew my ship up by accidentally igniting a gunpowder barrel and third time i got attacked by a megladon
If your playing solo or with a friend in a sloop, practice using the larger islands to sling shot round. The sloop is far more nimble and can hug the island better. Approach the island tacking the wind, set your turn around the island as close as you can and adjust your sails to match the wind until you have the wind at your back and accelerate holding a steady course. By the time a cumbersome galleon has come round the island you've greatly increased your distance and might force them to disengage from the pursuit.
something new people dont know is if you keep getting spawn trapped when your own the ghost ship after you die next to the exit door on the wall theres a scuttke ship option which will automaticly sink your ship
true!
This was very helpful thank you for posting
Thanks for the help. Looking forward to getting really into this game.
Great video, didnt even notice of your actually streak I dont think its that bad because the video is great keep it up.
I feel sooo bad. My buddies came up on a sloop and we wanted the achievement for playing music together and we let him know, even flashed our lights. He ran from us. Finally he jumped off his ship and scuttled it. So we grabbed around 3000 in gold in chests off his ship. We must have terrified him. We never fired a shot
Great video. Just got the game yesterday and I had no idea what I was doing. That should be a little different from now on
This was really helpfull thank you!
I'm still really new to the game and this helped a lot! Thanks for helping me get my sea legs!
I know this video is old but thank you so much for this video it really helped me out a lot ! Earned my sub with ease
This video is actually good because it actually gives tips that actually help you and are actually important and yeah pretty much actually it
That raising of sails and coasting in to the island will be helpful, instead of trying to drop anchor I normally just run aground and fix before I leave.
Ha ha me too!
Awesome man!! I’m buying this game right mos
Thanks this really helped
I actually enjoyed this :^)
The sword charge tactic is great, the game is programmed so that you keep the same momentum going into the water for a while. So if you use the sword dash so that you go from standing to swimming, you end up torpedoing for a pretty decent distance, it’s a great way to get back to the ship if you have no loot
you can do this leaving your ship as well. Just stand on the edge and charge.
Very clear teaching. Good video
Make more videos like this, love it.
Try and choose your gold hoarder and order of souls missions based on how many skeletons and chests are on a single island then cancel once you have the loot, that is the best way to be efficient
Best time for uploading. Fifteen minutes ago, I solo did a skeleton fort and some dumbass took me down and cashed in all the fort loot I spent an hour getting. Could definitely use some tips
Get some friends in game and have backup, and also do it to others on occasion. It is a pirate game, so express your dominance. Lol.
Dracula's Calligraphy aye...I just don’t have any friends and I have a horrific speech handicap. So, I’m usually stuck to watch everything go down in flames while people laugh at how bad I am at the game ^^;
Great vid!
When the words pop up on your screen and you cant move for a second, that’s when you change to a different server and can encounter different people.
What triggers that to happen? I'm new and I was just doing forts with some people who have been playing a little longer than me and we all just saw it for the first time
can you elaborate? does changing servers reset your missions or do you keep them??
Mark Soranno no, basically if the server you are on doesn’t have enough people then the words will pop up on your screen and you can’t move for a few seconds. This means your ship has merged onto another server. Every map, loot item, and supplies you get you will keep during the server merge, but you will encounter people you didn’t before. No progress is lost and you can continue your voyages as normal.
Caleb Bunch so it’s not something you can control then
Mark Soranno nope. It used to only be able to happen if your anchor was down but they patched that. So now when ever your ship is the last one in the server, it will put you into a more populated one without disrupting what ever task you were doing.
9:38 - Mini asthma attack.
Haha lol
If your having docking trouble, raise your sails, keep anchor up and just harpoon yourself into position
Tip in pvp:press right botten and jump left or right.if you'll do it you'll jump further and quicker ;)
If you are trying to get yourself to pirate legend and need to do merchant voyages I would recommend the cargo runs because they are more time efficient and I find they are slightly better for reputation.
For a quick u turn you can turn the wheel all the way right or left and drop anchor, but be prepared to just as quickly get you're anchor up and wheel straight if in a daring get away ,or other circumstances require
Thx for the time jump
Quick question, the jig/weary ball combo you mentioned, if you hit a ship with both cannonballs do they affect the players consecutively or one over rides the other?
On some ships there is a way to look at the ships map without going below deck, there is a somewhat obvious metal grate you can look thru on galleons and while not as obvious on the sloop, you can look over the railing next to your anchor and see the map.
Just a little sailing tip especially for those who enjoy solo slooping like myself
Whenever I’m at sea I always keep a stack of wood in my inventory and put it back in the container when I’m at an island, it may seem small but trust me those few seconds getting wood out of the container do make a difference.
I find that in the devils roar, please don’t park directly next to an island, use a row boat to get to an island or you will sink when the volcanoes decides to erupt.
Don’t let anyone untrustworthy join your crew (me and my friends once let a guy join and he sunk our ship and all its great loot) a moment of silence for Tank the seconond 😢
Great tips and all, would have been nice if the Video was aligned with what you were saying considering since what you said was in a hurry so kinda hard to catch on.
when shoveling once you dig once unequip and equip the shovel again and dig than repeat. you cancel the delay and dig faster.
Im watching this exactly one year later. December 25 2019 anyone else?
Yup
Yeet
Yessir
I’m sorry if I missed something but I wanted to ask, is it possible to get more than one ship after you pick your first one?
The sleeping cannonballs are called wearyballs.
Only tip I have is to use the A,S,D keys when fishing. For missions I try to back to an outpost often, otherwise I lose my loot to the skeleton ship.
You and your crew can sail around and find another crew that might let you guys leave lobby and join their crew. Essentially giving your crew 2 ships. I have 6 or 7 friends so we try this alot.
Thank God. My first time my cap left and I had to take over, soon after some dipshit blew up my ship. This tutorial helps
Thx.
ACTUALLY a good video.
Thank you, now my question is, how to complete or interpret those quests where there is a pick of a skeleton or a bunch of words with no map in it.
Best regards
take a sip of ye grog every time he says 'actually'
Nice
when fighting two skeletons with guns you can use on as a shield while taking it out
Is there a way to keep your loot after going offline or do you lose everything no matter what
Most TH-cam videos: use a wide variety of English vocabulary
Synicall: actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually.
When bringing chests to your ship. Set them on the shore and use the harpoon to bring them aboard. Skip the slow swim with him.
Thing that’s good if you don’t know rase the anker and roll up the sails you can turn without moving much
I like the sloop but you’re right using the ship above it cause the sloop easily falls apart
question here.. is there a difference between just returning skulls and chest to the main 3 and actually doing quest? I am referring to experience earned.. Thank you.
Jigballs=boogie bomb
Basically it’s damn near impossible to do anything for money in this game starting out
Make a post. Get high lvl crewmates and have them run their missions. I made 40k on one long voyage
I once got some good loot!
I mean I was stuck with only a rowboat and I was going solo...
Worth mentioning that every time my crew clears a fortress, the Kraken spawns in about 30 seconds after dropping the sails to head for an outpost. This happened every single time 3 nights in a row, so it really seems to be part of the package. Haven't gone down though, outran it once (idk how), and killed it once! I killed one tonight with a player, got the achievment, and it didn't drop any loot. Last night a random Kraken spawned and by the end of the tussle there was all kinds of loot floating in the water so I'm not sure how the drops work for that thing :S
I have one, very important question. Why is the conquistador armor gold in game, but Iron in the promotion material? Where can I get the regular conquistador armor? If I even can :c
Don't forget to store gunpowder barrels in the crows nest.
When you see an enemy far away but want to be sneaky, zoom in with the pistol, because it has a slight zoom, but gives no glint like the eye of reach or spyglass.
Also this strat isn't the best against players, but it's amazing against skelly ships: ram the enemy boat, but don't repair the hole in your ship made by ramming them. Keep one person on the captains wheel to make sure your ship stays pinned against their ship, and everybody else repeatedly run down below and get a bucket of water from your ship, and throw it onto the enemy ship.
Plz make another one!!!!
Just got this game yesterday and I’m stuck already lol
Don’t forget about the sword dash glitch
Played for the first time yesterday. Skipped the tutorial so my friend could teach me. *A skeleton ship surfaced the instant we left port.*
It was a great tutorial by fire. They chased us for fifteen minutes, but they were only a threat for the first five. Ass was kicked, booty was hauled, and plunder was plentiful.
Has This game improved a lot? I might play it again, had it on Gamepass, may buy it now.
make sure you sell your chests before doing other quest so if an enemy kills yo and destroys your boat they can not sell your chest because there will be nothing loot island you spawn on
Actually, I couldn’t actually focus on what you were actually saying because I was actually too distracted by how many times you actually said “actually”. And now unfortunately, I actually still blow at this game. Actually.
I actually highly suggest
You can kill the skeletons in the towers at a skull fort, and then park close to them. New skeletons will spawn in when another ship gets within range.
It's a lot easier on most forts to just kinda come in and park at a spot where they dont shoot at you and then repair any damage you took.
That’s... in the video
@@lepels No, he was wrong in the video. In the video, he said that skeletons will spawn if you leave your ship close. That's not true. New skeletons will spawn when a different crew get close.
Which sensitivity do you use on controller
Does anyone know if you can take control of the flying Dutchmen?
Harhar, Pirates, here be a great drinking game for ye! Take a shot anytime he says 'actually' in this here video. Keep the ambulance on speed dial!!
