it's really heartbreaking because he was such a sweet little kid, he wanted her to be proud of him so much. saying those angry words to her as a last farewell was the nail on the head for his trauma, that's a huge part of his guilt
I think you would really like March Comes in Like a Lion. It has some similar themes to Your Lie in April, and I feel like you would really enjoy analyzing the characters. It has some of the best character writing in anime. It is done by studio Shaft and is really visually interesting with an absolutely fantastic ost.
While I agree that it would be amazing, there are only 2 seaons out atm. Season 2 came out like 5 or 6 years ago? I dont really know how many chapters there are to adapt from (is it still on going?).
@@timmuller-dt7kx the two seasons are 44 episodes covering 9 volumes out of 17. The manga is getting close to ending but there is enough content for another couple seasons. With Shaft recently announcing a new Monogatari series and finishing up work on the new Madoka movie, it seems like they are back on schedule to regularly work on shows. March Comes in Like a Lion is fairly popular in Japan, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they announced something to come out in 2025. Part of the reason why we haven’t gotten any more seasons until now is that Shaft had most of their staff quit around 2020, and it has taken them until now to rebuild their studio. The author specifically chose Shaft to adapt her work, particularly wanting Akiyuki Shimbo to direct it, so there wasn’t any way another studio could have taken over production.
Bro I was getting heated when Kouse's mother beated the crap outta him. As someone who has a pretty messed up father, I relate to this shit so much When Kousei said "I just wish you die", bro I was cheering on him. Like HELL YEA PREACH THOSE WORDS BROTHER
Ange, I have to applaud your reaction towards the situation between Kousei and his mom. It's too easy to just think of the situation as black and white but you understand it's not that simple when you have a story and characters so well written as this. This was a hard episode to rewatch. Looking forward to watching the rest of your and Carlie's journey here.
yeahh, all this situation is just sucks for both parties. i watched this show when I was a angsty teenager. When I was growing up I always had a problem with how my parents deal with my behavior but when I put myself in their shoes I kinda understand a bit what hey been going through. Made me realise that in life no one is right and wrong at all times and the best things we can do is try to understand each other and not blame anyone but try to learn as much as we can from what they do wrong and what we've done wrong in our life.
Nope. Abuse is wrong no matter what. I've seen people with terminal illnesses spent the time they have left treat others especially their loved ones with kindness. No excuse for abusers
Lol what? How did you grow up from being an angsty teen to saying that there is no right or wrong to blatant child abuse. Sounds like you didn't really grow up at all
I don't know if you noticed, but the kousei performance in which Emi decides to be a pianist is the one he dedicated to improving his mother in the hospital and this hits too hard...
I started this anime just a short while ago and that scene with the mom was so shocking the waterworks came out of nowhere for me. I couldn't even tell what I was feeling during it cuz honestly I think I got shocked into crying or smt
First of all, I don't understand English, so I'm sorry if my English is weird. I love both of your reactions. The amount of medicine Kaori-chan took was amazing. Is it some kind of illness? It's a painful thing to say to kousei's mother, ``I wish you were dead.'' It's so sad that those were Kousei's last words with her mother. And even now, Kousei is still traumatized by her mother. Kousei is being fooled by the illusion of her mother that he himself created. That's too sad. And it is such a sad story that the trauma caused Kousei to become deaf. I hope that someday the time will come when you can overcome that trauma and be happy. This may be out of the blue, but there is an anime that I would like Carlie & Ange to watch. It's not just an anime that's just about battles, it's an anime that makes you laugh with its gags, makes you cry with its serious scenes, and is very moving. The language is excellent, or rather, there are some beautiful parts, so if you're going to watch it, don't miss that. The title of the anime is sousou no Frieren, and the English title is Frieren:Beyond Journey's End. The meaning of ``sousou'' is to say a final farewell to the deceased and send them off to a crematorium or cemetery. It is also a ritual for that purpose. It is an anime that will continue from fall 2023 to this season (until March 2024). I'm Japanese, but it's such a great anime that I immediately became emotionally attached to it, and there was never a time when I didn't find each episode interesting. It has now reached episode 20. In the beginning, the years pass quickly, so I recommend watching episodes 1 to 4 all at once. Personally, it's my favorite anime I've ever seen, and I feel like it has a lot of depth. For many years, it has been at the top of MyAnimeList, overtaking Fullmetal Alchemist, which has been the highest rated anime of all time. Sometimes the top position changes temporarily, but it's amazing how the top position changes even within a week, but I'm pretty sure this anime hasn't given up the top position for more than a month. Can you see how amazing this is? It's a testament to how good this anime is. Of course, Fullmetal Alchemist was also a really good anime. Individuals may have their own likes and dislikes, but I think the two of you will understand. Not only are the drawings, music, and BGM excellent, but the characters are charming, the development of the story, and above all, the way the words are used is wonderful. This is a fantasy story about the journey after defeating the Demon King. I won't say any more because it will be a spoiler. By the way, names of people and regions are in German. The OP for fall 2023 will be YOASOBI, the same as Oshi no Ko, and the OP for winter 2024 will be Yorushika. The ED is also pretty good. By the way, the OP YOASOBI song also has a Japanese version and an English version. The title of this English version of YOASOBI is "The Brave". By the way, I will watch any anime, regardless of genre, as long as it's interesting.
Man that’s a heavy episode. I remember picking up this anime when it was airing after murmurings about this episode, and my jaw hitting the floor when I got to Kousei’s rebuttal to his mum…
Her actions were cruel, there is no doubt about that. *SPOILERS* What I like about the series is that it doesn't excuse her actions - it focuses on Kousei healing and overcoming the trauma. And it does that by helping him understand that his mother didn't actually hate him, and that he was not at fault for her death. And he is only able to recognise that when he recalls what his mother was *actually* like, and separate her from the one that continued to torment him in his head. Being able to let go of that guilt and come to recognise the beautiful elements of the piano that she helped connect him with, is what allows him to process his grief over losing her and finally move forwards.
@@yuratchkaplisetskys3063 100% I’ve seen some people try to explain it away but I couldn’t get behind it. It echoes the same as akito from fruits basket, no matter how much it’s explained as to why, they just don’t need moments to be sympathized with. I’m happy it helped kousei heal tho

yeah, Emi's va is Shinobu and Takeshi's va is Sabito also
