As the strongest pianist Kousei, played the chopin, he began to open his domain. The audience shrunk back in confusion as Kousei said, "Stand proud, you're strong". And then he left it all behind and said with his overwhelming intensity "Nah, I'd win"
The moment that hit me and opened insight into what trauma really is comes from this show. What Kousei sees in his mind isn't his mom saying those words but his guilt personified as her. It's terrifying how we are able to torture ourselves using our own creativity.
Playing Chopin with such feeling that the audience is transported to his happy place? Yep, I can see why my first viewing reminded me so much of Forest of Piano.
I found it interesting that the jury at 2:48 knew he can’t hear the notes. That shows you that Kosei is by far not the only person who develops this problem. Who knows how many musicians are out there struggling with this. While we as the audience feel for Kosei we also have to see that he is one of many who these jury-people see and they propably have seen many fall (even from top positions like Koseis) and therefore have no hope in him anymore. I guess if you are at a stage were you can’t hear the notes anymore it is so difficult to get out if it that it rarely happens and therefore many „professionals“ don’t believe he can come back from this and therefore dismiss his performance here
@@Charmomilleseaurchin9733 The most common are: Kousei/Tsubaki, Kousei/Kaori, Kousei/Emi and Kaori/Watari. But there are some ships where fans go overboard, like: Kousei/Nagi, Kousei/Watari. I've heard people defending even Kousei/Hiroko, for some fans there is no limit.
Only my most deepest appreciation for Ange and Carlie, you both caught a most crucial piece of this episode, only when Arima and in any case all artists for them to truly create a piece of any art they have to dive into their emotions, and what comes out is a reflection of what's inside. I truly love you guys for that. Had to rewatch your reactions multiple times, but that last "Ahhhh" from Ange when Arimas mom smiled, was everything to me, you can feel how this show touched his soul!
First of all, I don't understand English, so I'm sorry if my English is weird. Kousei has made some progress. What a wonderful step! And what a beautiful scene.
I like watching your analysis of beloved YLIA, but in this episode, you've missed a big point (didn't yet watched rest of reactions, so dunno if you realized it later). Emi and Takeshi are drawn and empersonate opposite aspects of Kosei's playing. They are almost show's illustrations on two different takes on music. Emi was moved by Kosei's very first emotional performance and hated when he turned "robot" later and winning competitions. Her admiration and approach to music is essentialy same as Kaori's. Takeshi, on the other hand, respected his robotic accuracy and undefeatable precision. So, in this episode, Takeshi admired the first part and hated finale, while Emi was opposite.
Great reaction (as always) I wanted to ask if you guys do video game reactions as well, there's this game called Outer Wilds. It's utterly beautiful and is the perfect type of game for you guys.
That old guy angry at the end was understandable, if you pull something like Kousei did (stop midway & then play again with a different tempo) in a real concour, the judges would get really reaally mad at you. It's very disrespectful to the whole competition 😅
Hey guys, if yous ever wanted to react to a real movie i KNOW yous will love “Everything Everywhere All at Once” so yous should definitely check it out if yous haven’t already!
Genuine question: was he actually making mistakes? or is this just some plot armor in the sense that he is traumatised and that should reflect on his piano abilities? Because from what I heard the notes were mostly correct (I am obviously speaking about the "wrong" part). I would like an answer from a prof musician, since I may have read 25 5, but I am NO prof to be able to tell
This show is so damn good. That smile 🥹
We’ve just uploaded ep 13 over on Patreon for anyone wanting to get ahead! www.patreon.com/carlie_and_ange
Arima had a whole ass domain expansion this episode and he sure-hit them with emotions.
People were really lost in that lmao..... didn't even realise when the domain finished
I normally hate the "domain expansion" jokes but this one won me over.
All the senseis had opened simple domains so they were not nearly as affected than the rest XD
Ngomong mulu
Don’t know why I’m so surprised to see a JJK reference in the comment section but this took me out 😂
That scene when his mom smiled 🥺 one of my fav moments
Bro discovered time traveling

I sorry guys I'm not a fluent English speaker but every time you guys (carli and ange) sei "Kousei" I hear Corsair I don't know why 😅
lmao You're absolutely not the only one. I assume its just from their accent.
