Why are you just wasting so much milk? Like there's not even a pun or a joke You're just wasting a plushie and a bunch of milk..... Is that supposed to be entertaining? Is that what the kids are into these days?
@@thecultofcaged i love your idea. it got from "big scary purple man kills children" to a criticism of capitalism. also yeah make william die and just end his plot there but then bring vanny as this crazed loser fangirl that'll do anything to be like william and shit. it would be cool asf.
The fact that they intentionally removed any and all potentially "not child friendly" aspects from the game (besides Vanny getting torn apart offscreen) is the worst mistake they made.
@@ca_lciumYeah that's kinda the problem. I HATE that this franchise is so centered around children. It's fucking pathetic. This story and subject matter deserves to be oh I dont know...SCARY? Ffs get your head out of your ass Steel Wool and actually make something that can scare us.
Fun fact about security breach. If you look up the dev interviews and their responces on how the game was developed? it explains a LOT. The biggest of which being, that THEY didn't know what the hell was going on in the story, cause Scott didn't acutally tell them what the plot even WAS. Just what to put into the game, without explaining it. Cause that's just how he does FNAF games. Obivously that works ok when he's doing them solo and on smaller scale games. But he was working to make a big, open world, exploration game and with a studio. And that lead to so many problems the game wound up having. Relying on vaugeness and hints to tell your story can be a huge problem. And Security Breach proved that. Espically given how the game was gutted from it's original much darker and bloodier premise due to Scott's well...Everything. And Sadly, most indie horror games saw this and thought 'Oh hey we can do that to and get the same results!' ANd thus we got hello Neighbor and others.
I completely agree with Vanny just being a deranged fan of serial killers and William Afton. It not only makes Vanny much more interesting as a character, but also helps the series finally split away from William being the villain, while also having his influence still have an impact on the series. It just makes it worse that they had literal gold in their hands, and still managed to screw it up.
I love this idea as well, and if you add in the idea of Vannesa being a literal fangirl of the Fazbear Franchise and... boom, interesting new killer, instead of WILLIAM AGAIN
Honestly, yeah. I always thought they should've just made Vanny a copycat killer. That way Afton's legacy still could've lived on, not because of some computer virus BS, but because Fazbear Entertainment wouldn't let his story die.
I thought this is what they WERE going for when they teased SB all those years ago. It's such a interesting and cool idea to have a "Afton" Admirer and basically a copycat killer. But they somehow fucked it up and made the worse decisions story wise I could ever imagine. Ugh..
That was too much to handle for the writers, better just have Abraham Lincoln as the main villain because aftons remnant ghost revived him for unexplained reasons and agony magic controlls him or something
Having Vanessa be a crazed fan of a serial killer would've been more realistic and so much cooler. The bunny costume would pay homage to the fact that Afton wore the Spring Bonnie suit to lure children. Creating a replica of the first location for nostalgia and so she could really feel like Afton, keeping the knife in the game, keeping the giggling in the game instead that annoying ass line "are you having fun yet", she programmed the glamrock animatronics to hunt Gregory, and the other missing children, brought them to her replica lair to kill. A true evil who's a fan of evil would've been a much better story than William coming back for the 80th time.
She appears 6 times throughout the game (not counting the endings), yet 4 of her encounters are completely missable. Most players probably won't even notice her being there, so for most players, she will only appear twice.
@@kingx1024 That was her 'boss fight', she did technically spawn into it but she spawned out of bounds or something, they now patched it so she spawns in behind you for the chase segment but she's so slow 90% of players will never notice her anyways.
I know a chunk of the shattered chica location vanny is supposed to appear but she’s so slow that unless you are looking at the many post it notes or the random easy to miss shrine you won’t see the screen turning red and distorting
One thing I can give the awful storytelling of Security Breach is that it at least has better reasoning for why its villain came back than Rise of Skywalker
The funniest part is they deleted all of scary and mature content from game like vanny's knife, her loud scream jumpscare, darker lighting and very cool voicelines from the trailer just to make it more appealing to kids who are part of like %20 of fanbase
@@GardenVarieteaLITERALLY THOUGH, part of the appeal for me when I was kid was the fact it was so scary I wasn’t even sure if I was ALLOWED to be watching it lol. It’s what drummed up hype and theories at the lunch tables, if it was the way the franchise was now, we wouldn’t have even known about it.
My head canon for Vanessa was that she was big into the spooky stuff and “rumors” about the murders in FNAF, so she applied for the job to see for herself and got TOO into it; like true crime fans mailing love letters to killers into it. So since she fostered this sort of obsession, it turned into new conspiracies and delusions, and all of a sudden, she wanted to be a part of what was fascinating her so much, hearing voices were there were none and prancing down the halls in her costume that represented the shocking horrors and infamous tales, becoming the evil that encapsulated her mind, wanting to be a part of the stories feeding her dark fantasies that she didn’t know she had. I’m not big into the lore though, so I don’t know if there’s anything that disproves this. I’m just a casual fan that enjoys the theories and SOME of the games.
@@skyfluffycat6258 And maybe Glitchtrap was just a hallucination that was telling her and ONLY HER what to do until she made a real Glitchtrap virus which ironically only follows Vanny's commands as it is what the Mimic should be. Like Moondrop a robot following the orders of its evil creator, but not a main antagonist.
I think Afton's line "I always come back" should be interpreted much more esoterically. Instead of "I always get ressurected from the dead" it should be "The consequences if my actions will always find a way to haunt people". I love the idea of crazed serial killer fangirl Vanny, and I think Glitchtrap could have worked in a similar way (though I think Malhare is a much better name). I mean, an AI that developes dangerous patterns because it isn't supervised properly? They had two fantastic opportunities for relevant social commentary, and they completely fumbled it. Edit: Just wanted to clarify, I didn't come up with the name Malhare. I don't remember where I got it from, but I'm not trying to claim anyone's ideas as my own.
Which is extra hilarious when you consider she technically has 4 full chase scenes and 2 game over scenes... The game is just so inept people rarely even notice her, heck her 'boss fight' used to be bugged so she wouldn't even show up.
Vanny’s inclusion in the story is just the perfect embodiment for the entire franchise. Created by blindly throwing spaghetti at the walls in the hopes that children stay entertained, furries stay baited, and TH-camrs continue to write the plot themselves.
they couldve made vanny into a sadistic physcopath who adored william afton and wanted to do what he did and starts sacrificing kids in his name, and then gregory's friends go into the pizzaplex, go missing so he goes in and then realize they're all dead and tries escaping or someth, like holy shit they had so much potential but they just wasted it man, the game itself isnt even scary, the reason why its bad is mainly since it isnt even fnaf, completely different horror mechanics, no five nights, shit lore, bad villian and writing etc
exactly. i also hate how people are trying to like be nice about the game and say it isnt as bad as everyone says but it genuinely is that bad. maybe as a game on its own it’s mediocre, but this is fnaf we’re talking about so compared to the rest of the series it’s complete dogshit
@@gibbyjibby0 The gameplay after playing the game really is just mediocre, the stealth mechanics have sort of increased making you use your camera and hiding spots more but it still doesnt really scare you like a normal fnaf game does. Fnaf is designed to make you practically helpless apart from doors, or a mask or something else. Security breach does something completely different, makes it worse and generic and pretty much like every other fnaf game. Anyone who has played the first 5 fnaf games understands this and most of the time thinks security breach is just alright or outright garbage.
i really wish they did something like, the company that bought the animatronics actually bought blueprints from the sister location era of william aftons stuff without knowing theyre murder robots, so the glamrock animatronics were made with the company not even realizing theyre actually murdermachines due to greed and ignorance or something (so you get a feel for the company being evil, which makes them actually important to the lore this time), and thats what the whole game was about like imagine if glamrock freddy was still helpful, but the weird mech thing is just a trap and instead you just die in there, and the whole game is trying to avoid the animatronics that may or may not even know theyre trying to kill you depending on which one and at the end you just leave with no idea what the hell happened and try to tell the police or your mom or Someone, which could set the baseline for a sequel where youre a detective or a guard after they heard rumours of the robots being violent at night and need someone to either investigate or make sure no other rumours are spread like that wouldve been so damn interesting
I always wondered if the "Vanny sounds like Vanessa and also bunny. That cannot be a coincidence." line was originally going to be about Bonnie because of that whole mini mystery about Glamrock Bonnie in the game. Like, why would the word "bunny" raise any alarm bells?
I really wish the 'Vanny is a crazy fangirl of afton' plot was actually used in the game. It would've been way more interesting and a better way of referencing older fnaf games. I really hope they don't mess up the movie. I'm really hoping that Scott is putting a lot of effort into writing it and making it make sense.
No Vanny is a good villain. But she's not terrible. She's actually terrifying. If you pay attention enough And also. A villain doesn't need to appear every single time. For example halloween ends Michael Myers has no. Screen time. But he still good in that movie. Since hes a really good villain. However Corey is way better than vanny. But I do like the two So is Vanny bad has a villain no Is she a wonderful villain no She is just good. PS. god loves you
@@WOKEchair That's understandable. But vanny is a way better villain If you get used to her. Of course. she Not.terrible She just doesn't appear that much. In s b So cut Is her some slack
This game could have easily been this: Vanessa is one of those girls that gets obsessed with serial killers and tries to continue what William started. So she starts killing kids too and what not but make her more like ruthless and evil. She also wears the original mask cause I like it more. Gregory is one of those kids she goes after but he finds out/sees something he shouldn’t have so that makes him her main target. Instead of the pizzaplex, the main setting is like sort of what it was before but just a bigger Chuck e Cheese and when it hit’s midnight, most of the lights in the building go off. Overall the game needs to be darker visually and plot wise.
im glad someone FINALLY made a point to bring up how fucking wacky it was for the protagonist of fnaf1 to suddenly be a hugely lore important character.
One of the best elements that made the initial stages of this franchise good was wondering what drove the security guards to keep going. Then apparently all of the guards were all somehow an empty corpse being possessed by itself that had personal connection to the villain.
@@infsm27except Jeremy Fitzgerald. Jeremy Fitzgerald is just a random dude who works as a Nightguard in the FNaF 2 location for 6 nights and then gets his face bitten off
Hasn't the Mimic been a thing in the books for way longer than Security Breach though Like the books have been informing the games since like, Security Breach, I don't see a reason to be mad about it anymore, and obviously this video came out before Ruin but I think Ruin makes it pretty clear it won't JUST be Afton 2.
The inclusion of Jontron's music at 18:41 made me laugh so unreasonably hard because it was so random and had pretty much no rhyme or reason to be included in that part of the video, just like Vanny does in the game
I feel like Vanny/Vanessa would've been a creepy antagonist if they fleshed her out more than just "a guard that is possessed and chases you around in a bunny suit" and her knife she had in the teaser would've been better in the game as she chases you around meaning she will kill you if she catches you other than what they went with where it looks like she wants to hug you instead, this could also fix her jumpscare into making it more unique and human-like instead of what the game settled for and I mean like as in she grabs you and stabs you with a knife as any serial killer would do. I also remember she was supposed to have a meter in the game where if you spend too much time in one area she would go there and try to find you which would've been cool and unnerving knowing you wont be able to hide forever, considering she is human that makes hiding from her to be harder because unlike the animatronics she can easily know where you are hiding if she even gets a glimpse of where you ran to hide cause then she'll know to check those hiding spots before eventually finding you. Overall she isn't a bad character and could be really creepy and scary but they didn't execute her character properly and that's why she just feels more like an extra obstacle than the main antagonist in the game, I do hope the DLC does justice to the game making it more enjoyable and maybe explain the mechanics and locations a lot better.
The dlc was worse than the main SB game 😭 the plot is so odd, the animatronics barely chase after you, there’s basically no fights, the “mask” AI thing was so strange and everything felt so… surface level. Didn’t explain anything about the main game. I do, however like what they did with Roxy. Won’t give spoilers to anything of the dlc in case people haven’t played/watched it yet. But it was very disappointing lol
Oh man, seeing this video sparked a rage I’ve been feeling for a while. Vanny is my absolute favourite character. She has been since she was first revealed in Help Wanted, and I’ve been waiting for her screen time since. Just think of all the things this character is capable of and all the ways her story can be taken - there are so many paths she could cross, but the one she got was ‘Forgettable Side Character’. I’m still furious over it. I got so angry I literally rewrote security breach. I’m pleased to say she can form words other than “aRe YoU hAvInG fUn YeT”. If anyone’s interested, it’s in the replies. I promise she has more than five minutes of screen time. I’m sorry, the whole Vanny thing just… ARRGH. Steel Wool had better give her justice in Ruin (assuming they haven’t already killed her off). My poor girl was so misused people can’t even decide if VANny and VANessa are the same person due to how fucked up the lore is.
i swear it seems like Steel Wool/Scott saw that fans were predicting Vanny’s involvement and were like ‘FRICK they guessed it too quick, should we change it?? we gotta make sure it’s a plot twist!!!’ or they just didn’t know what they wanted from her in the first place😭i almost hope the DLC retcons and clarifies things but that might be too much to hope for lmao
Honestly, I don't think there's anything you could do with the franchise anymore. It had a good run with its story and it came to an end. It landed a great mark on the videogame industry and everything. Some might say a little too great tbh and, the team should've just kept it that way, and all this mimic and glitchwraith or whatever crap Scott puts in his books nowadays should be put into something new for once.
@@fluffywhompuswhich. Tbh I'm sure was a steel wool decision mainly too. Cause Scott never xhanged his stuff just cause people guessed it before it came out
This is facts. Vanny was such a cool character that they hyped from FNAF Help Wanted to the later on advetisement. It seems like they got so caught up in trying to make the game better they neglected the most important character in the GAME! If Vanny is dead in the DLC I will be severely disappointed. Vanny deservse better! Someone make a fangame.
I'm 80% sure they will make Cassie (the girl form the trailer) the new Vanny after something happened with the original. It's just seems the better option than trying to redeem the original one to me.
yk how the fandom took the early fnaf lore (fnaf 1-5) and transformed into "fnaf vhs" where the characters became way scarier and their stories portrayed as a horrific, sad case (as they should)? yeah im waiting for that to happen to vanny/vanessa. give her those deep scary eyes man idk just make her the antagonist she always deserved to be
Mattpat: promise you won't change anything to be confusing and to make bait lore videos Steel wool: yeeesss Actually *removes 99% of the game and brings back Afton* like a boss
@@legoguy2511 I wish they'd give up trying to make the FNAF story make sense as a cohesive whole or just reboot the franchise already. I want the series to go completely off rhe deep end. The absurd AR sci fi in Ruin comes close, but I want more. Either make make Freddy in Space and make it canon, or make Help Wanted and everything after them an alternate universe sort of setting
17:00 Holy shit you actually just described my rewrite lol. In my version of SB they have a museum, which is a recreation of the fnaf 1 stage room, but is filled with stuff from the past games (Minus things Faz Ent wouldnt want the public knowing about, like the funtimes or springlocks.) Also as for Vanny, in my own AU she actually is kind of a twisted personification of the fandom like you described. Shes basically a big theorist trying to learn everything about Faz Ent, and would even kill to get answers.
I actually wrote a scene which is basically my version of Freddy's "I am not me" scene which takes place in the museum. Basically Glamrock Freddy avoids the museum like a plague because he HATES the dark past that he's connected to, but during the events of the game he goes into it and ends up watching the FNaF 1 animatronics perform. This is where he finds himself and realizes he's his own person and not defined by what others make him out to be. From there he takes the hat and tie from classic freddy as a momento.
Finally someone points out how boring the mimic is. If it’s just a robot copying William Afton then that means it has no motive and is doing all this (as well as mind controlling and forcing others to do this) for no reason other than “robot copies people but copies bad guy by mistake”
Tbf William has no established motive either, like we know he wanted remnant but he only learned about that AFTER all of his murders so that can't be his motive. But imo it would've been a lot more interesting had they just made it so "Glitchtrap" was actually made by the Dev that Fazbear entertainment commissioned to make the FNaF games to get revenge for getting fucked over by Fazbear entertainment (and that "Glitchtrap" was actually called Malhare like they are in the files of Help Wanted.)
@@anidiot192 theres at least something there his youngest son died because of his older son and his daughter died before that you can at least make something out for a motive hell even if he's just jealous of henrys success it made him lash out and then he learned how much he enjoys killing is better then that
@@asuraofwrath the problem is that william's motive is not established, there's no canon reason why, there's no actual reason, you could just as reasonably say that William Afton is just a psychopath and not even he knows why he started killing. Like every motive we have is just speculation with nothing to actually go off of.
The literal only reason people were hyped about it was "Thank god they retconned reviving Afton". There was no actual hope for the mimic being interesting, they're just glad FNAF would no longer revive Afton every new installment, like other horror series.
I'm glad someone else is realizing how all over the place the story is. While garnering a lot of theories, we have people reading the books and trying to figure out if the creator made pixels in a mini game look like one thing for a reason. It gets kinda frustrating
I want to add I'm NOT the biggest fan of the books are linked to the games thing and that was the mimic who the blob attacked, because honestly how was a game only person supposed to know that?
What kills me about the plot is that it keeps going: Vanny and Vanessa are the same person… OR IS SHE? Vanny dies at the end of the game… OR DOES SHE? Afton is back… OR IS HE? Afton dies at the end of the game… OR DOES HE? I get that the entire fan base was built of speculation and theories but the whole damn game is a bunch of maybes. Nothing is concrete and we spend the whole game basically on an acid trip wondering if anything is actually happening. And yea, the fact that half the potentially important plot points are in the books and you wouldn’t know unless you spend hours reading them or watching recaps pisses me off too.
i dont understand why scott can't just confirm something. like give at least one answer. why are people still speculating on the timeline when it's been almost a decade since this franchise started?? i think he just gave out too many questions for viewers to think about but ruined it by barely answering any of them or giving a clear confirmation in one of the games, or at least for me- everyone else seems to enjoy theorising and speculating but imo scott could've just confirmed or refuted more theories in the games instead of scattering everything in all his merch bc the lore had a lot of potential
the fact that this game has very positive reviews on steam and is generally had a positive reception is completely astonishing to me. I'm scared of the future of fnaf if the fans will eat up this slop off the floor and ask for more, when clearly something went horribly wrong that needs to be learned from.
@@sarilchowdhury3955it's because the largest voice in fnaf are the alphabet letters and furries who haven't grown up. It's true, they are so rabid and so childish that they threatened the creator and wanted him canceled for supporting Christian policies when they themselves uncovered it when it wasn't public knowledge. These people are parasites ruining all entertainment
"The head of Springtrap being praised" this is exactly what I wanted from the game. You go down there and have to do whatever, and on the way you pass basically a shrine to what William became. Maybe it vanishes on the way back and it's left unclear whether it was taken or moved on its own. That's all he needed to be.
I swear to god, i thought people were being dramatic about Vannys misspotential, but looking back at the trailer, they hyped us up way too much. Her calling for gregory telling him that his friends are looking for him, pared with the fact hes one of the few missibg kids, implys that originally, he was ofc trying to escape vanny as she hunts him down, but instead, he just..stays when it closes? And barely even sees vanny? THIS IS ACTUALLY SUCH POOR WRITING ISTG
I have got to be honest the only fun part in the game is the sun and moon part, the whole game should have been more like that where it's a small area where you have to complete a task while being pursued by an enemy with interesting mechanics sort of like the scrapped Roxy area but if it was good
Fun fact: According to a recent interview, Scott Cawthon quite literally didn't communicate the intended storyline to Steel Wool, so Chazington is right on Scott being responsible for alot of bad aspects of the game.
@@vortiger7375 It's not even that he's keeping it locked up tight, he himself legitimately doesn't know the lore of his own franchise. He has literally been making it up as he's gone along with virtually no plan this entire time. But honestly, can't really fault him too much. Bro was convinced the first game would flop after all
My theory was an attempt to try to piece what seemed to be a change it direction with Vanny’s relevance and even character. Was she truly always the main character? Maybe not. But the real sticking point is that image with Vanessa AND Vanny in the same image. It just seems, a little weird. Obviously she was originally going to play a bigger role in some way (I don’t need to tell you that). Anyways great video! This was super funny and I laughed the whole way through.
"They were fans of serial killers in real life, why couldn't vanny be based of them?" EXACTLY, my intial thought was: "Oh shit, she's an Afton Groupie?" It would make so much sense if that were the case but it wasn't.
biggest issue about SB is that it isn't a horror game, it's atmosphere and artstyle feel like if something as cutesy as fnaf world had the try-hardiness of fnaf 4.
I like the idea of Vanny being a sort of fangirl, perhaps she could've been a cult leader who glorified the killings of Afton, and influenced by Afton to go on her own killing spree.
I honestly wouldn't even mind if afton came back again, even if it is repetitive, as long as we had other antagonists that are just as well written as himself(at his best written, of course) to break the monotony of only having one villain. Maybe they could have even gone into more detail/lore as to how burntrap and glitchtrap are still around at all(maybe Afton was just a much more powerful spirit than the others, and when he was burned, his soul got ripped in half, with half of his soul being tortured in constant agony, and the other half of his soul possessing a circuitboard that was scanned in Help Wanted, only getting more powerful from the agony and remnant the other half of his soul is only stacking up more with Cassidy)I do agree, however, that Vanny should have gotten more screentime, and should've also been an actual main antagonist, like she was being hinted to be in Curse of Dreadbear DLC)
I feel like Vanny was that one "placeholder_main_antagonist" character that purely existed so the game had someone to cause trouble even though she was the most fucking confusing thing ever because she was underdeveloped
Fnaf lore has gone so far to the point they accidentally made the spiderman clone saga as one of the vanny endings and now they are going to probably retcon and return for years on end
The sole presence of Vanny is the reason i hate Mimic all forced introduction and proliferation in the entire franchise It solely exists to keep Springtrap as the main villain without saying it is William
@@17denby actually the issue is the exact opposite of what you propose. You see, the Tales books were written all the way back in 2019 at the latest (the metadata for Lallys game's listing traces it back to 2019, however it could have been planned and written before 2019 and just not officially listed until then) Meaning the Mimic storyline was planned from minute Scott and Steel Wool conceptualized Security breach. In the books the Mimic has thus far been extremely disconnected from afton, and is it's own thing entirely only tangentially related to him in a single line of dialogue which suggests the Mimic witnessed the MCI. So while everyone is saying that the Story of the books were written to appease angry fans over the story of the games In actuality it appears that the games story was done the way it was specifically to appease fans angry about the Books lore reveals! The problem is that Scott and Steel wool are basically hiding the Mimic behind an Afton themed curtain, because they think he needs to be propped up by the previous villans recognizability in order to be successful. But the way they've chosen to do that just made the problem worse because now theres an enormous disconnect between how the SB and HW treat the mimic (afton poser) and how the Tales treats the mimic (Terminator with an appreciation for Cosplay) I think we should hold off entirely on trying to judge the Mimic storyline and blame all the issues on this character until AFTER ruin. We need to see if the extremely positive reaction to the Mimic allows scott to stop thinking the Mimic has to just be Afton 2.0, or if he continues to treat him as such
im so obsessed with this video. it scratches a specific itch in my brain. it entered my mental list of videos i watch over and over again for no reason. ive watched this 5 times already.
One grip I have is her Bunny suit. Before we had the merch leak that gave her outfit away, people were thinking she was going to be wearing normal clothing like hoodies and sweaters. Normal teenager stuff which in my opinion it would’ve been cool. It would’ve outed her as a invader and seem more human instead of looking literally like a furry
@@fizzydrinkuno I think the whole idea of Vanny being a creepypasta/serial killer fangirl turned rabid would actually be really funny but also better than what we got lmao
In my fnaf lore rewrite thing Vanny's literally just doing a half assed closet cosplay of her fnaf self insert OC, which she invented to ship with Springtrap. She's definitely a rabid creepypasta fangirl type, I literally named her Nina after Nina the Killer Meanwhile, Vanessa is a separate character and she's trying to help Gregory (she's bad at it)
i think it's better for her to have her deviantart william afton oc. my only gripe is that it looks too professional. like i wish that shit was broken and torn and looked like a total fucking mess
Dude your idea of a FNAF museum makes so much sense. In game when near all the animatronic rooms there are glass cases with animatronic parts and merchandise. And some of it's missing so that would just make so much sense.
The way this is edited legit made me cry laughing several times As a veteran fnaf fan - this is so awesome, amazing job, and thank you for sharing your thoughts!
I really love the idea of Vanessa having Hybristophilia, loving and being a fan girl of a serial killer. She gets so inspired by peepaw willies actions that she wanted to idk recreate the crimes? or like follow in his footsteps?? an idea for like why she applied to freddy's and made a bunny suit like the one Willy would wear. I hated the idea of William coming back as a fucking computer virus, infecting Vanessa, and then coming back as burntrap. I know his whole shtick is he always comes back, but please, we need a new villain for the fnaf series, and Vanny could have been so much more.
I have a simple solution to the missuse of vanny. Remake the game feom the ground up. Smaller map, better story, bring back the knife, and afton is non existant in the game. My personal fix would be to set up the game like a save them minigame where there are children in the plex, however Gregory is the only one left alive and has to run away from Vanny. Another idea could be as the lights dim, Freddy becoming the last enemy to join. Mabey have it to where teaming up with Freddy is optional. Idk anything about making video games, but I wish I did.
Exactly the ruin dlc looks like what you described Hopefully ruin can fix the lore and help wanted 2 can put the franchise back on track We can only hope
The story of Security Breach oddly reminds me of Scream 5. Both had the potential to put a new spin on the formula utilizing new characters. However, both failed after relying too heavily on tropes of the past - resulting in a feeling of disconnect to the actual new ideas.
Man, I was really hyped for what they could have done with Vanny after Help Wanted, and the trailers implied that she would have been a major player in the story and gameplay. Sucks to learn that she basically was treated about as well as a glorifier cameo.
Legit Security Breach pissed me off so much! It seemed like such an easy W for Scott and Steel Wool. They had the perfect set up of a new antagonist, new animatronics, a new location, and the converting of the FNAF formula to a 3D environment! It was leading up to be a simple soft reboot of the franchise and they fumbled SO HARD! All they needed to do was create a fun game with a basic enough plot, sprinkle some bits of lore, and have Vanny do literally anything of worth but NOPE! It would've been easy money but of course they had to get WAAYYY too ambitious and feel the need to cram a reference to everything single FNAF media possible! I genuinely hate how much some people have defended this game by saying that fans were rushing this game out and that we set our expectations too high! No we didn't, at every possible chance they had Scott and Steel Wool kept hyping up this game to an ungodly amount. They could've stopped after a year and a half of development but they kept adding stuff with no foresight of what that would entail. I still love FNAF but wow this game is garbage!
Having Afton do a joker and make him have copy cat killers would’ve been a nice plot imo. Kinda like a joker afton becomes an “idea” and even tho he’s dead many people want to carry on his will and kill kids would’ve been cool
I seem to recall almost 2 years ago when SB came out that steel wool had said the reason vanny barely appeared was due to an actual bug, which you’d think they’d remedy at some point, HOWEVER, ruin is around the corner, Help wanted 2 is coming the end of this year, and we’ve only had maybe 1 update for the game this year. And it was for the Xbox port
It wasn't a bug, people thought it was a bug because they found an unused Vanny meter, but Ray later clarified they intentionally took away the function of the Vanny meter because it tied into something that went unused (most likely Survival Mode)
@@Wolfmansgeneralchannel I mean in that case I don't really think they ever said anything about that And if they did they did fix it if it was around the time SB released, because at least one of Vanny's encounters DID sometimes bug when SB released so she didn't appear, the February patch fixed that though, or at least made that bug way less common

I’ve watched every single Game Theory on FNAF and I don’t remember ONCE MatPat saying that Burntrap is the Mimic. That’s not even confusing anymore it’s paradoxical.
The thing about fnaf lore that’s such a big problem is that no one wants to confirm anything meaningful. The fact that in literally the beginning of the video, we are able to call out the fact that we don’t even know if the first protagonist is important or not shows the lack of confidence in the plot.
Glitchtrap could have been so cool too. Imagine instead of bringing him back they made the glitchtrap virus spread. And we had like a whole gang of serial killers. You could even make it interesting and make these people be egainst eachother. I mean like, people who aren't prone to violence won't be effected by it. But people like vanny who are already kinda whacky become crazies.
I was SO hyped for vanny and she ended up being such a let down. also i had never thought of the crazed fan idea but now I wish that had actually happened that would have been so epic
A stealth Part where you hide from vanny as she says what she says at 12:44 would’ve been so cool. Like why can’t vanny be sorta stealthy . I think it would be cool if like throughout the game she’s constantly stalking you, like you could see her hiding in the corner of the eye or watching you from another part of the pizza plex. Like she’s playing with her food, mocking Gregory, hunting him till she gets bored of the chase. If you wanna make that part of the character. It would’ve made for a more engaging experience and story and given vanny the overlying role she deserved as the main villain. Like maybe at the beginning she only really stalks Gregory, analyzing his every move, mainly letting the animatronics hopefully take care of him. (Like maybe Gregory was looking into the disappearance of his friends and is digging too deep) like after you beat Chica Roxy and Monty maybe that’s when she finally starts to hunt you. I think it would be cool if like as you destroy the animatronics, vanny starts to interfere even more (maybe activates new enemies or drains Freddy’s battery, or block off certain areas for a bit (like really only like 30 secs cus any longer seems stupid) this is just me spitballing but what does everyone else think? Like how would you guys incorporate vanny to be a bigger character but also be enjoyable and be an actual threat and villain
Y’know before the game came out, I thought both Vanessa and Gregory (who’s existence was leaked due to Funko again, thanks for that Funko) were both going to be the main protagonists as this sort of Sonic Unleashed Day/Night gameplay. Where we played as both Gregory who would explore the Pizzaplex at day with Glamrock Freddy and as Vanessa who would do nightguard duties and to make sure the animatronics aren’t going haywire, y’know shit like that.
Bro I hate security breach for so many reasons but vanny is what disappointed me the most I was so excited to see her character and how she would be done and she was only in 3 scenes
Some type of Oogie Boogie Vanny where you rip the suit off and it's just some goop, bugs, or nothing would actually be more interesting and creepy than what we got.
I liked the story of fnaf for a long time, cuz despite not knowing EVERYTHING, we got more pieces to the puzzle through each installment. It was like watching an on-going crime scene, figuring out what truly happened as time went on. Thats why pizza sim’s ending was so great; we got all the information, all we had to do was end it all. It was an actually interesting plot that was put together through Scott’s clues. Then security breach came out and that gave me a headache.

It just makes it worse that they had literal gold in their hands, and still managed to screw it up.
yea i love this idea too
I love this idea as well, and if you add in the idea of Vannesa being a literal fangirl of the Fazbear Franchise and... boom, interesting new killer, instead of WILLIAM AGAIN
Damn that's some Saw level shit I love it
She appears 6 times throughout the game (not counting the endings), yet 4 of her encounters are completely missable. Most players probably won't even notice her being there, so for most players, she will only appear twice.
And for one of those moments for a good amount of time, she wouldn't even spawn in correctly, so one of those 6 times she wouldn't had even appeared.

This game could have easily been this:
Vanessa is one of those girls that gets obsessed with serial killers and tries to continue what William started. So she starts killing kids too and what not but make her more like ruthless and evil.
I think the best way to balance the meter out is to prevent it from activating prior to the first time you see her after the daycare.
It absolutely looks like she's trying to give you a hug, which is such a weird looking jumpscare in my opinion

I actually wrote a scene which is basically my version of Freddy's "I am not me" scene which takes place in the museum. @@anidiot192 real people kill just for the hell of it, why couldnt afton
The literal only reason people were hyped about it was "Thank god they retconned reviving Afton". There was no actual hope for the mimic being interesting, they're just glad FNAF would no longer revive Afton every new installment, like other horror series.

Mimic: Hold my beer
It's like that scene in the doctor who parody with rowan atkinson where the master keeps coming back from the sewers getting very old.
What kills me about the plot is that it keeps going:
Vanny and Vanessa are the same person… OR IS SHE?
@@areeba7045He doesn't because not even he knows what the fuck is happening anymore

the fact that this game has very positive reviews on steam and is generally had a positive reception is completely astonishing to me.
That's all he needed to be.
the milk had more screen time than vanny does
I swear to god, i thought people were being dramatic about Vannys misspotential, but looking back at the trailer, they hyped us up way too much.
I think it’s both insanely funny and extremely sad that Vanny had more screentime in the S.B trailers than she ever did in the actual game.
I have got to be honest the only fun part in the game is the sun and moon part, the whole game should have been more like that where it's a small area where you have to complete a task while being pursued by an enemy with interesting mechanics sort of like the scrapped Roxy area but if it was good
tbh i played the day care section twice and not once did i even see moon, cool idea but i don’t think it was executed well
All 3 of these comments show the main issue with the gameplay of not only this segment, but the whole game: it’s terribly inconsistent
I like how what you described is what fnaf has technically always been in the past games, with the small area, being pursued and mechanics lol

My theory was an attempt to try to piece what seemed to be a change it direction with Vanny’s relevance and even character. Was she truly always the main character? Maybe not. But the real sticking point is that image with Vanessa AND Vanny in the same image. It just seems, a little weird. Obviously she was originally going to play a bigger role in some way (I don’t need to tell you that).

biggest issue about SB is that it isn't a horror game, it's atmosphere and artstyle feel like if something as cutesy as fnaf world had the try-hardiness of fnaf 4.
vanny truly is the fnaf character of all time.
A representation of the fandom as a whole and that it should die already

I like the idea of Vanny being a sort of fangirl, perhaps she could've been a cult leader who glorified the killings of Afton, and influenced by Afton to go on her own killing spree.
I could’ve sworn I saw a cult idea before security breach like fazbear entertainment was a cult
Not joking when i say this is one of my comfort videos. Everything about this is so perfect and lovely.
Fnaf lore has gone so far to the point they accidentally made the spiderman clone saga as one of the vanny endings and now they are going to probably retcon and return for years on end

The sole presence of Vanny is the reason i hate Mimic all forced introduction and proliferation in the entire franchise
It solely exists to keep Springtrap as the main villain without saying it is William
@@17denby actually the issue is the exact opposite of what you propose.
You see, the Tales books were written all the way back in 2019 at the latest (the metadata for Lallys game's listing traces it back to 2019, however it could have been planned and written before 2019 and just not officially listed until then)
Meaning the Mimic storyline was planned from minute Scott and Steel Wool conceptualized Security breach.
In the books the Mimic has thus far been extremely disconnected from afton, and is it's own thing entirely only tangentially related to him in a single line of dialogue which suggests the Mimic witnessed the MCI.
So while everyone is saying that the Story of the books were written to appease angry fans over the story of the games
In actuality it appears that the games story was done the way it was specifically to appease fans angry about the Books lore reveals!
The problem is that Scott and Steel wool are basically hiding the Mimic behind an Afton themed curtain, because they think he needs to be propped up by the previous villans recognizability in order to be successful.
But the way they've chosen to do that just made the problem worse because now theres an enormous disconnect between how the SB and HW treat the mimic (afton poser) and how the Tales treats the mimic (Terminator with an appreciation for Cosplay)
I think we should hold off entirely on trying to judge the Mimic storyline and blame all the issues on this character until AFTER ruin.
We need to see if the extremely positive reaction to the Mimic allows scott to stop thinking the Mimic has to just be Afton 2.0, or if he continues to treat him as such
the mimic has literally no buildup and is never mentioned in the series. also why WOULD the mimic exist.
I don't even think the Mimic is a bad idea for a villain but they just could've done it with Vanny since the start and not fumbled so much
Okay..

im so obsessed with this video. it scratches a specific itch in my brain. it entered my mental list of videos i watch over and over again for no reason. ive watched this 5 times already.
I’m sorry but that would've given off creepypasta OC vibes and that would have made me piss laugh honestly
She's definitely a rabid creepypasta fangirl type, I literally named her Nina after Nina the Killer
Meanwhile, Vanessa is a separate character and she's trying to help Gregory (she's bad at it)
Agreed
i think it's better for her to have her deviantart william afton oc. my only gripe is that it looks too professional. like i wish that shit was broken and torn and looked like a total fucking mess

Plot twist: That's not milk...
Dude your idea of a FNAF museum makes so much sense.
In game when near all the animatronic rooms there are glass cases with animatronic parts and merchandise.
And some of it's missing so that would just make so much sense.
The way this is edited legit made me cry laughing several times
As a veteran fnaf fan - this is so awesome, amazing job, and thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Exactly the ruin dlc looks like what you described
Hopefully ruin can fix the lore and help wanted 2 can put the franchise back on track

It's not garbage it's literally a cremated corpse

Vanny got more screen time in the trailers than in the actual game
@@fez9439 okay but I wasn’t referring to the vanny meter, I meant specifically her not showing up more in the game via scripted events
@@Wolfmansgeneralchannel I mean in that case I don't really think they ever said anything about that
And if they did they did fix it if it was around the time SB released, because at least one of Vanny's encounters DID sometimes bug when SB released so she didn't appear, the February patch fixed that though, or at least made that bug way less common
@@fez9439 not really, as the only fixes they added were to the (and I refuse to even call it this) Vanny Boss Battle where she now teleports to your location depending on where you’re at when you reach her hideout in Fazerblast, I stood in the middle of that bridge for a solid 10 minutes waiting for Vanny to follow me up the stairs, NADDA was going on, and she still has some bugs going on still

The thing about fnaf lore that’s such a big problem is that no one wants to confirm anything meaningful. The fact that in literally the beginning of the video, we are able to call out the fact that we don’t even know if the first protagonist is important or not shows the lack of confidence in the plot.
They don't confirm anything just in case they want to change something in the story in a way that doesn't technically make it a retcon.
Bullshit.

The fact that she attacks you by aggressively dancing like the fucking disco zombie from pvz makes this character impossible to treat seriously
15:24 I've been caught off guard
7:22 bro that's just a baby peter griffin laughing.
I only read the title and this is already telling me Chazington is about to preach and go hard.
Besides SB itself, the pouring milk on vanny thing is the best joke in this video
