Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel (Windows) are both Canadian so they actually knew each other before they became actors and so in the late 2000s and early 2010s they were often in each others movies. Btw; "This is the End" is a movie that has a lot of Fanboys actors in it playing themselves.

It's so crazy to me how they managed to make it. Like the fact that Fanboys actually exists is just such a blessing. Cause the odds of movie executives shooting the idea down is high. I'm just so glad everytime I watch the movie that it even exists. It's perfect the way it is. Sometimes I'm bummed that it's not a bit longer, but then again, it's so great the way it is. First seen it in 2008 when I was 8. Now as a grown ass man it still takes me back to the summer of when I first watched it. Just such a great movie

So this film hits so close to Home with these characters being kids in the early to mid 1980's. After there was No More STAR WARS after the Return of the Jedi hit theaters in 1983...2 years later in 1985 we were sad that another STAR WARS film was Not in the near future. None of us knew as little kids that it was George Lucus's 1983 Divorce that destroyed his momentum to make more STAR WARS films. His passion for STAR WARS went away for so many years. His Ex Wife helped him make the first film.

As a Star Wars fan, I love this movie so much. It's one of my favorite parodies as it perfectly blends the passion of Star Wars fans and a truly great story that makes you want to join them on the journey itself.
This isn't a "parody". I got to go on a "road trip" with my friends. We left the morning after a party and drove to Texas. We went to Galveston and then we went over to Florida. We hungout and skateboarded all over the place.....it was so fun. I took so many cool pics that I wish I still had. The silver faced security is from George Lucas's film THX 1138.

I was in theaters in 1977 when the original movie hit, and it blew us away. I was 10 at the time, and the love was instant! I just happened to find this movie in the $5 bin at Walmart, because it didn't get a massive release (despite the number of SW cast cameos), and I bought it without knowing how good it was going to turn out to be. I really hope some other reaction channels pick up on it. Especially Star Wars channels. When I do a SW marathon, I start with the original theatrical releases of the OT (Yes, I do have them, on multiple formats), then Fanboys, then start at The Phantom Menace and work my way forward chronologically. The last time I did that, it took me nearly 2 weeks to get through everything. I love what you do, man. I appreciate you!
This is such a great movie. When the girls flip off the guys on the road it looks like the driver is using her ring finger instead of her middle finger. The Weinstein brothers wanted to cut any mention of Linus’ cancer from the movie. They did until fans at a viewing complained about it. They did get away with cutting a scene that showed Linus accepting his fate and throwing the pills the Dr gave him in the canyon. I love how Seth Rogen plays three different characters in this. He’s Roach (the pimp), the Star Trek Admiral and the alien that the guys saying “Scruffy Nerfherder” to. Sad thing about this movie is that Linus and his friends would never be able to discuss the film.
I enjoyed this movie for what it was: just a light fun grab at star wars, with cameos, and a spoof but it's also touching that they have a friend who is dying and it means something.
I just loved this movie, and yes you were right about fandom and anime were considered nerdy and not mainstream in those days. The cast were great, really convinced me they were devoted Star Wars fans. The cameos, the movie references, even adding die-hard Trekkies into the mix. Seth Rogen is a hoot! I watched Trekkies the documentary not too long before this movie. It goes into more detail of the Trek fan world. It is hosted by Sandra Crosby who played Tasha Yar on TNG. Very endearing, but yes, you’ll find odd characters. Thank you for watching Fan Boys!
Everyone complains about the sequels not having a plan, or the prequels having wonky writing… but that “Luke & Leia were SIBLINGS” argument is proof enough that so did the originals. Star Wars has always been changing moment to moment, but it’s so much fun!

So many hilarious moments: - Palpatine getting the phone call where he finds out the Death Star was destroyed - The antics of the bounty hunters looking for the Falcon - Luke’s growing incredulity as Vader reveals more and more plot twists - A Stormtrooper named Gary does Take Your Daughter To Work Day - What the alien in the bar was really saying to Luke before he lost his arm And so much more!

George Lucas liked the the movie so much, he allowed them to use all the Star Wars sound effects from the Lucasfilm library.
I like this much more than spaceballs personally. Love the cast especially the guy from Detroit Rock City.

I don't know about the coffee shop but the comic book store is the Comic Warehouse in Albuquerque, NM. 100% positive about that.
@@claycollins9852 the comic book store is in Austin my sister lived there for a while they have pictures from the movie I bought a Star Wars comic my sister was a regular at the coffee shop I sat at that table I walked around where Harry beets up Windows in the movie my family did not beleive me untill I showed them the movie sceens and the names are the real names if the stores

@@claycollins9852 wrong I have been to the Hole in the Wall comic store it's in Austin in the middle of a strip mall the Java the Hut coffee shop is right down the street benn to both locations twice even bought a comic book and coffee the comic book store has a photo of them looking at the map from the movie I stood in the spot where Harry beats up Windows
