This is my favourite Adam Sandler movie. I’ve commented this on other channels who have reacted to it as well.
It’s a typical Adam Sandler movie for the hour and then everything changes very quickly. It has a great message for all families with someone who has a workaholic who chooses work over family. Don’t wish your life away and family should always come first because life is short.

It’s amazing how people are forced to work 24/7 in order to keep their job and support their families. Then blamed for it.
Maybe it’s the work demands that need to go.
This guy needs to make more to pay for his kids college which requires a promotion.
This movie makes it seem like you have to choose between feeding your family and loosing them or keeping your family and starving to death.
We’re supposed to work ourselves to death while beating ourself up for it.
Work life balance is important. But it’s not improved by berating yourself for trying to support your family.
I’d love to see part 2 that shows the financial implications of refusing to work on holidays or another after work calls.

A thing that someone pointed out that always gets me is that 3 years before this movie came out Adam Sandler's father passed away. I couldn't help but think of that scene in the future with Adam Sandler's character breaks down after finding out his father's passing was actually how Adam Sandler expressed in real life. I had a deep fear of "skipping around" my life ever since, and even to this day I'll find myself picturing the moment when he learned his father died, how he treated him, how he lost his wife, and now that I'm older, that he was never a BAD guy in this movie, he just made some poor decisions and that can STILL fuck you over in the end.

I recommend you watch Funny People (Adam Sandler movie). It's one of his other movies that is more serious, really good

You should watch uncut gems. Serious Adam Sandler role. Also good time which is made by the same directors as uncut gems.
