- First off I'd just like to say thank you to everybody in the speedrunning Discord server for coming together with all of these ideas and helping me explain everything. This was certainly very different than anything I've done before, it was really interesting to research everything and I'm happy with how it has come out, hopefully I didn't get too much wrong in my explanations, but feel free to correct me, which I will add to this description as notes.
I don't doubt there are a few more stories that could have been talked about out there, but I think this was a substantial enough length with a nice selection of topics.

It’s insane to hear some of this stuff talked about in such a professional way lol. Things like Gustavo fling and el Beppe were named in such funnily stupid ways that hearing this aloud is hilarious. This is incredible. ppjhype

I'm sad about all of the talk about Prehistoric moves because Sony pulled the game out of the store for no apparent reason, I had it both downloaded, and later got it in the LBP2 disc my friend gave me, both of those versions refuse to boot.
There is still, or at least I think there is, the LBP2 Move Pack, but it is sad they'd remove SPM, I only remember playing it once years ago and it was fun.
Great work Rhys! It's neat to see you doing different things, I never would've thought I'd see a speedrunning iceberg lol! Even though I've never played Little Big Planet I always enjoyed your videos, you really know how to break down complicated tricks.

I submitted a joke speedrun of Sackbot redemption first in early 2021, and Kadiwa rejected it on the grounds of "trolling". The video's still up on my channel. It was only 20 minutes long. I can't believe my place in the iceberg was stolen from me. No joke when you mentioned Sackbot Redemption I sat bolt upright, sure I was about to be mentioned. Guess that's an L for me
I never knew of this, that's so sad, you definitely deserved to have that place on the iceberg.

this was such an intriguing video to watch! i've been playing LBP since 2010, and i didn't even know that there was a speedrunning community behind it DESPITE following speedrunning for some time now. i've actually never completed LBP2's story mode since 2017-ish, so i guess that qualifies me for a 7-year speedrun (slowrun), haha. thanks for this video!

I've only been exposed to the LBP speedrunning for about a month and I've been thinking.. How is this not a more popular speed game? Precise platforming AND abusable physics and movement leading to fun-to-execute and fun-to-watch skips.. That's what makes games like Celeste and BotW compelling speed games respectively. And it has a more than big enough nostalgia factor to capitalize on the same type of popularity that games like Ocarina of Time and Battle For Bikini Bottom get..
I genuinely wonder if the main reason LBP 1 and 2 aren't speedrun as much is as simple as the fact that they're on PS3? The PS3 has MANY problems, it's an older console so supply may be lower? I dunno.

Watching this video (I'm not all the way through it yet, so I don't know if this pops up somewhere) reminded me of something strange that happened in the introduction level when me and my sister had just gotten the game as kids. If I'm not mistaken, there's a section just before one of the video scoreboards appear, where a bunch of developers names are given and a rainbow sort of tilts in? And somehow my sister managed to jump onto this rainbow by total accident and she fell beneath the map. We were both EXTREMELY confused. I have no idea if this is actually possible, because this was, like, 11 years ago.
Yeah that's right, you can change layer onto the first rainbow and fall out of bounds. More importantly though, you can use it to get to another rainbow that flings you over the rest of the level, finishing it a lot faster.
I’d love to see a one handed challenge, so you have to complete the game only by using one hand

The current record for LBP1 using glitches is 12:38, and without them it's 48:51.

LBP3 can still be played online on PS4 and 5. The first two games can only be played on PS3 which no longer have their servers up, but it is possible to play on custom servers.

I have a silly question how can you still play lbp 1 with the crown and other rare dlc items
The PSN store is still up so you could still redeem and use codes for DLC like that if you wanted to. I just have access to them with mods though.

@@mr_still_chill It's pretty easy to mod a PS3 and there's heaps of tutorials for it. There are also tutorials for getting DLC like that.
