If we count Regigigas, Regigigas was the most consistent one in terms of being the worst thing ever. I think even Staryu was more viable. But Gen 8 may change that if he is even in the game.

the fact registeel can't learn gyro ball has always made me sad xD
It probably wouldn’t run it anyway. 8 pp is pretty terrible for the STAB move of a pokemon with only 75 base attack. Things like Stakataka can run it because it threatens to KO quite a few Pokémon with it’s horrible speed and great attack.
And it’s literally a steel ball. Like come on. The move makes sense even if it wouldn’t be a good move.

@@sirdabsalot1yt83 thats actually a good point. registeel has bad speed and bad attack, wich makes it more of a bulky legendary (exept bronzong outmatches registeel) it can still be a good revenge killer with explosion. although gyro ball could have been a move registeel learned, it would be useless in pvp such as magikarp with splash (idk what kind of pepole use magikarps in pvp but ok)

It sucks that Regigigas ain't that too good in Online battling... He has Great stats but the Stupid Ability Slow start messed it up. They did dirty to my boy Regigigas but then Galarian Weezing comes. I love all regis for no reason-

Idk what is is, but for some reason I've always loved the regi trio to a much higher regard than most. They've always been some of my favorites - definitely some of the most mysterious legendary Pokemon
same honestly - the way they look and sound _(both in their in-game cries and in the anime)_ kinda robotic and how they're always found in mysterious ruins-y type places with cryptic messages always gave them a really cool feeling, like these super-powerful ancient guardians who got sealed away
probably one of the coolest examples of pokemon concepts at their strongest imo, they all have a vaguely robotic feel with the things i mentioned and how they all get moves like zap cannon, but they're also ancient golems formed out of pretty natural substances
just kind of a mix of fairly typical ideas that culminates in some really sick and unique pokemon
Definitely wish they were better in competitive, though that goes for a lot of Pokémon too though. I love the Regis too :)

The pokedex talks about registeel being like space metal i think, so what if it had filter as its ability or something
Regirock can repair itself by using the rocksin it's environment so maybe regenerator
Regicice is said to be extremely cold, so maybe an ability that causes freezing once physical contact is made with it
I think the designs look so solid and almost perfectly represent a legendary trio. If a -friend- person who didnt know about pokemon asked me to show him a legendary trio that he would use to base his opinion on pokemon (I dont see why I would ever be in that situation), I would show him the legendary golems.
Darrell Simon that would be perfect!!! For such interesting group of pokemon, it would work so well. That’s at least what their hidden abilities should’ve been.

I like regice because...
...I dont really know. I guess I find regirock and registeel to look worse. And dont even get me started on regigigas. As a ruler of the legendary golems, it looks very underwhelming

I like Regice because I like his look but Registeel is my second favorite out of the Regis.
Registeel's balance saved it in the long run compared to its Rock and Ice counterparts, I like it

I honestly think that Registeel's biggest flaw and what has kept it in RU is its lack of kill power and lack of reliable recovery, but I think it won't go lower than RU because its bulk is just too good
Jorge L. Nieves There are better Steel Pokemon that exist though and Registeel lost Explosion since Gen 5 so it lost a lot of Fire Power basically since then.
Bronzong and Metagross both reside in RU and they both can do the same thing Registeel does with better Typing despite the Dark and Ghost weakness. Bronzong has Levitate, and Metagross has much more Firepower and takes Neutral Damage.
Registeel does have the niche as the best defensive steel tank but not much else.

Kellen, I really do applaud you for pumping out so many videos lately.
I remember making a Registeel set on Showdown RU over the summer. It ran iron defense, amnesia, charge beam, and flash cannon. It had max sp atk and hp with leftovers. The set was awful but if it caught someone off guard, it would get a sweep thanks to charge beam boosts as well as being nearly unkillable thanks to beefing up both defenses

There's a reason that's called a niche
its cuz ubers power level was such that dragon offense was common and steel was the best way of handling it, when something fits better in one place then another, its gonna be there more then into the place where its niche is less consistant
Niches are a powerful thing. Just ask VGC when restricted Pokemon are allowed in.

Registeel can pull off Gravity which also increases the accuracy of moves. Combine that with Dynamic Punch and Zap Cannon, and you can spam status along with damage. Then throw in Iron Head and you get a discount Jirachi. Registeel has the bulk to pull of this Gravity set and it's quite fun once you get it going.

Awesome, very favourite Regi, messing with dragons in Ubers. never thought to have it run Thunder Wave though, I often ran it with Magnet Rise to help protect it from Earthquakes and Earth Powers.

It's been the Meta Knight of Smogon OU since Black and White 2.
It's viable in Ubers against many top threats in both Generations 6 AND 7.
It's the only Pokémon in history to appear on all 8 teams in the Top 8 players' lineups at Worlds in VGC. (In this case, 2015.)
It's been arguably the most consistent Doubles Pokémon of all time.
It's yielded incredible stats and versatility since it was released.

I love registeel in draft league. I got it once and it always did a great job. Ran it offensive to beat kyurem black, ran it special to deal with skarmory, ran it bulky so it never died, it was amazing. It has just the right amount of weird coverage that it can counter very specific things in draft league

I used a physically defensive Registeel in 4th Gen OU and UU. With Thunder Wave, it could stop most things (Salamence was the usual target before it got banned since it could come in on Outrages easily to Thunder Wave it and wear it down with Seismic Tosses in return and it could take a +1 Life Orb EQ to Paralyze it in a pinch) and it still did ok on the specially defensive side as long as it wasn't taking super effective hits due to resistances. Good times.

I've had decent success in OU/UU with Earthquake, Stealth Rocks, Thunder Wave, Explosion with max defense & a weakness policy. Dropping rocks was huge and if you explode on something like earthquake or flamethrower you can OHKO tough wallbreakers like Landorus-T. Can't wait to see how Body Press works out

Here's an ability I thought of for Registeel
Ability: Tempered Steel
- If the user is hit by a Fire-type move, its Defense and Special Defense will rise by 2 stages.
A bit broken, 1 stage would be more balanced

Registeel is my favourite of the Regi trio of Gen 3 but I will never understand as to why Gamefreak gave it the hidden ability Light Metal.
So, I've thought of something. I don't know if it's a good idea, but I for one think it would be interesting if you also covered Little Cup? This would give the unevolved Pokémon a chance to shine as well! I understand if that's just a lot more work on your hands, but I'll leave the suggestion here anyway.

How to make registeel ou viable? Change clear body for a better hability, pressure can benefit stall steel or maybe fragile aromour as a secondary hability so that maybe it can sweep using curse sets.
Ps: How good was ninjask actually?
How about filter as an ability? Maybe also raise its base attacking stats to 80
Give it Filter, Shell Smash, and Shore Up.
Now it has an ability that isn't garbage, and has two significant sets that need to ba handled very differently, and you can't tell which one you're dealing with until it shows you. What's more, it's so bulky that it's still reasonably bulky after the Shell Smash defence drop, meaning you can forgo a White Herb for a Life Orb or something.
Now it's OU.
