In 1972 a friend of mine had a 911S in Amsterdam. When I see you working on the fan, I hear the screeching/howling exhaust sound and the blowing fan in the back again. A true symphony. So beautiful that your brain stores everything and sometimes a particle comes up again. Actually twice Fun..... I can't wait to hear that/your sound later on
This made me think of the My Mechanics guy that does different types of restorations on his youtube channel. He is often met with such dilemmas which leads him to his famous phrase 'I make new one' where he then shows the process of how he makes all kinds of bolts, screws, rivets on so on. Too bad you don't live next door to him. I think he's in Sweden though. lol.
That fan really came out absolutely perfect Mike! I would have loved to see the tools and process used to get those rivets tight without marring the finish at all, do you know the setup Joe uses? Maybe you can get him to shoot a quick video while he does it, that is something most aircooled owners will face at some point in their cars life. ;)
Hello Fancypants, As for Joes actual process Its a mystery for now. perhaps someday when I visit with him I can talk him into sharing it with us. I'm fairly confident it is done with a press and jig. Cheers!
Hello resgate Thank you, I use the Caswell system for all the electro plating process.. it’s quite a bit of a learning curve getting things going but once understood it’s a fantastic system. Wishing you the best of luck with your restoration work! Cheers!
That fan looks absolutely amazing.
Thanks Dan
I'm thrilled with the end result=)
Cheers!
I agree Fan-tastic 😅. Such attention to detail Mike. 👏🏾
Thank you Tom!
The fan looks awesome. The last hurdles pretty much done. Time to enjoy the fruits of your labour. Thanks Mike.
Thanks Matthew
Yes we are driving around now and shaking out all its issues.. so far so good!
Cheers!
I’ve never seen that bubble balance process before. Thanks for sharing!
Your welcome Kaplan.. Im sure there are other methods that can be used but a bubble is always fairly accurate. Cheers!

Mike, looks beautiful. You explained how you thought it was done, how did Joe actually accomplish this?

@@MikesRestorations Mike, você poderia tirar foto do caderno para mim, sou do Brasil e eles não vendem aqui. Me ajudaria muito
